Week 2 Veg Showing two sets of true leaves, I'm quite happy with the somewhat short internodal distance on this plant. Given her Sativa-leaning genetics, I would have expected her to be stretching more than the Green Gelato and GLOOKIES also in the tent. Going well!

Does anyone put expanded clay on top of coco/perlite pots? Wonder if this would help reduce the levels of algae and maybe even be beneficial in other ways?

the clay will cover your top layer of medium and water will need a lot longer to get absorbed. I dont think it is practical to use with cannabis especially if you plan on flushing the plant (or if you are not planning but have to)

Hi, I see folks at the grow shop do this all the time. It’s for ipm, water absorption (they water a lot less there) and algae—- you can do it if any of the above are issues! ✌️🏻💚🌿

Not sure if a layer at the top will do much for you. Might have some benefit for algae reduction. It definitely shouldn't hurt though, so there's no harm in trying. People have started mixing clay pebbles directly into their coco and soil as a way to keep roots oxygenated. I realize your already into flower, but perhaps for your next grow.
