OMG! I had to write you bc just know you're about to save my whole life RN. No, I'm not cracy....I have a grow diary, "The Grow Must Grow," documenting my first time ever trying to grow weed. You replied to a comment discussing PH & how to alter it with citric acid, and I was super impressive with your answer. The water in my apartment is hard (leaves a white sheen that's difficult to clean on the shower tiles, smdh.) & I believe not good to use for watering. Idk how to fix the PH when it's too low or too high, so your comment made my whole day!! I have a fish tank water testing kit that I could probably use to test my water to see what the actual PH of the water is, but I have ne'er a clue how to fix it to use for watering. You seem to know alot about this and I had to reach out to you in the hopes you'd be kind enough to give me some advice in this area. I've been using bottled water only, which isn't hugely expensive (I only have 3 plants growing) & bc I have a water cooler and buy 5 gallon jugs), but I'd rather use plain old water. Could you help me? Would you help me? I'd be forever grateful, as you really seem to know your stuff in that area, while I'm completely clueless. I'm still figuring out how we contact one another on this website, so please please reach out. I'm crossing my fingers🙏

@Wendylicious, So to summarize, get yourself a PH Pen ASAP! It is a very convenient tool that you will need in every grow you do! With it, you will be able to adjust the PH of your tap water without buying bottled water for your plants! (that sounds super expensive over time)! I got a basic PH pen for about 15 € in a shop locally but i am sure you can find some pens at a similar or a bit more expensive price where you live, or at least order them via internet. Either way, get yourself one of those, they are super important!

@Wendylicious, I have the very same problem as you! The tap water in my apartment is 'hard' at 8.1 ph so i use citric acid to lower it. To see the type of ph i need, i use a ph pen to help me. You can buy citric acid (it is commonly known as vitamin C) in any bigger supermarket in crystalised form (looks like sugar) and it is VERY cheap. No need to buy expensive ''ph down'' products. You can also use lemon juice or orange juice to lower ph if you are in a tough spot not able to get to the supermarket. The important part is to lower the PH of the soil to about 6.5 ph, it is the ideal range for cannabis soil nutrient integration. You can do that by flushing your medium with ph adjusted water, or just by watering your medium with even more acid water (but its a bit more risky). I just watered my own medium with ph 6 water and it seems to work and fixed my problems. Also the white sheen that is difficult to clean that you were saying is calcium carbonate, so you dont even need to use calcium fertilizers with your water after you adjust it with citric acid :D You will just need to add some magnesium from time to time, and even that might be rare, but everyone has different water. Check this chart out that tells you what nutrients cannabis plants absorb at certain PH levels, its very handy: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.growweedeasy.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2010%2F05%2Fsoil-ph-chart-marijuana.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.growweedeasy.com%2Fph&tbnid=sDHLSu5UxF5QcM&vet=12ahUKEwj-xsn3nYvuAhWBtqQKHV5rAO0QMygAegUIARCeAQ..i&docid=BzlGjbwxiJt0HM&w=828&h=828&q=Growweedeasy%20soil%20ph%20chart&ved=2ahUKEwj-xsn3nYvuAhWBtqQKHV5rAO0QMygAegUIARCeAQ
