Thursday evening I put 4 seeds in wet paper towels, between two dinner plates to keep them from losing moisture and drying out.
Two seeds started showing root Friday. I expect to transfer to soil Saturday.
I am an absolute smooth brain.. I lost one of the seeds.
So I have to get another.. now they won't all be on the same schedule, but ohh well. Nothing to do about that.
Of the four seeds I put into dirt.
One is still waiting to pop out of the dirt.
Two have sprouted and are looking great.
One has semi sprouted.. It's popped out of the dirt, but it is not straighting out.. It's just bent over, and is looking really bad.
Update:
Three seeds have sprouted, and seem to be doing fine. One is much larger than the other that came out at the same time.
The first four seeds I germinated, all sprouted in a 24-48 hours. One sadly didn't survive, and I had to germinate a new seed.
Now I don't know what I've done wrong.. I haven't changed anything from the first four seeds I put in paper towels.. But the next 4 seeds I tried to germinate, just didn't... They never sprouted. I find it really impossible to understand how the first four would sprout, but the next 4 would not. From the same package, what kind of luck is that.
Anyway, I put a new seed in paper towels today, 8/12.
Update 2:
Out of a pack of 10 seeds, five was able to sprout, 4 were not. First time I've had so much bad luck getting seeds to sprout. Only have one Chem OG seed left for future grows.
Currently I can tell the difference by the size of the plants. It goes from largests (1) to smallest (4), which is also the order they sprouted.
I am growing in a 58x58 grow closet, and one seed is pretty far ahead of the others, gonna be fun to see how this works out.
Seedling 4, only just sprouted, but it was also put in dirt long after the others.
Seedling 2 got knocked over doing a watering, and I had to help it get upright. Put some dirt close to the stalk to keep it straight. However, it still has a tilt that I can't seem to correct, and I hope it won't turn into a problem when it gets larger.
I also topped seedling 1 this week.
Seed 1 is just growing like crazy compared to three rest.. All ae planted in the same dirt mixture, so not sure what is causing the difference.
Seed 2 and 4 are looking good, although small.
Seed 3 is stunted. It is growing really slowly and something is wrong with the root. Just under the dirt, the root rapidly thins and just becomes one long thin root. Normally if water around the base of my plants, side roots will start showing. This is not the case for seed 3, i had to dig 3cm down to find the first side root.
The reason I did this, even if it might not be healthy for the plant, is because it can't keep it self upright. There is to much weight already to keep it stable and I wanted to see what the problem was.
Changed the light schedule to 12/12.
There is still a pretty huge growth difference between the largest and smallest plant, but I don't see it working out if I continue to wait, there are never gonna get to the same size anyway.
I had to terminate seed 4 (the smallest plant) even before the growth spurt the plant was not able to carry its own weight. There was no way it was gonna survive with giant buds on it.
Removing one plant also makes watering a hell of a lot easier..
Plant 1 is in full bloom, plant 2 is almost in full bloom, and plant 3 is still lagging behind.
This is the last time I try to grow multiple plants at the same time in my grow closet. Next time I am going with a single plant, and will just have to have a longer vegetation period to compensate.
All three plants are on completely different schedules, and I honestly don't know how I am gonna handle the harvest.
I believe plant 1 is going to be done about 1 week before plant 2, and 2 weeks before plant 3. However, I do not have another closest to dry in, and I am a bit hesitant to dry in the same closest as I am still growing the last two plants. There also isn't a lot of space for dry hanging above the light.
