I got the labels mixed up....these plants are definitely Gorilla Girl, Crystal Candy FV, and Sweet Zkittles all from Sweet Seeds directly. I dropped them in water the day before full moon and within two days they were ready for their peat rounds. Five out of seven sprouted. Four out of the five that sprouted are thriving, I knocked the ‘helmet’ off the fifth one and that little girl is just growing one cotyldon leaf.
I want to try again after this round and keep the labels straight. I am trying to get growing perpetually so I will try to time it properly.
Four girls growing well. Topped with a layer of ocean forest mixed with perlite and worm castings. Fifth girl not making much progress but her one cotyledon is growing larger. I love my plants so much I wont give her up yet!
Watering about every other day. With a good soak. Last watering was more of a soaking from the bottom up, trying to help the roots reach for the water. As soon as I see roots in the bottom holes I will move up to larger pots. Probably three or five gallon size depending on their growth. I am going to train them to keep them from growing too high. The tent is about 85” tall. I may adjust taller if necessary. I can just add on the way I have built this one.
They are growing great very happy I potted three of them up to 3 gallon bags. I decided to wait for the fourth to dry out for potting her up. I watered them first...rookie mistake because it is easier to re-pot when they are dry. They tolerated it fine anyways.
After doing some research, I think I figured out which plant is Gorilla Girl. I am watering every three-four days with tap water PH’d to 6.5. I water from the bottom first by filling the bottom rectangle. After that soaks up I bring the pots outside and water the tops until runoff. Then I layer about an inch of my soil mixture(FoxFarms Ocean Forest, perlite and worm castings) on top. Let drain for about half hour and bring them back inside the tent.
They are growing well, I have been tucking the bigger leaves under the branches. I will do some LST this week to maximize exposure to the light. So far so good!!
Things are going well this week, growing and filling out. I added a top layer of soil, watering every 5-7 days. I dropped the ball and added too much PH down on accident because I misplaced my normal measuring spoon. Later when I found the measuring spoon it was already too late. I am hoping that it doesn't mess things up too much. I probably watered with 6.0 PH instead of 6.5. See next week for the results.
This week went ok. I can see that the PH and light getting too close put a strain on my little girls. I moved the light up now its back at 36” away. I watered at 6.8 this time. I calibrated my PH pen to be double sure the PH was correct. Gave the girls a trim. They dried all the way out because I was going to re-pot them. I didn't have time so I gave them a good watering with Microbe life and 6.8 PH. I am going to add a layer of soil tonight after I see how they respond to the raised PH and light. They are growing really fast anyways. But there was a lot of discoloration on the leaves as you can see the small bucket. I am pretty sure the tallest one is the Crystal Candy. I wish I had kept the labels correct! So far still things are good. I am going to switch to flower next week or maybe the 8th week. I need to batten down the hatches of my tent so it can maintain the dark hours without leaking light.
I have done no training at all, just tucking leaves. I might regret that...
I switched to 12/12 hour light cycle. I added a layer of soil and half dose of bone meal and Microblast in the watering. They responded very well to lighting hours change and are doing great! No more discoloration all the new growth is nice and green.
I still have not done any training. It has been a busy time for me so I will probably end up re-modeling my tent to get more room for the girls.
Going great moving along wonderfully. I am continuing to add a layer of soil weekly and watering with 6.5-6.8 ph water. Been very busy with work but still able to maintain these beautiful girls😃
I was so busy this week I forgot to take pictures!!!:(. But things are moving along very well. Added a layer of soil, watered with herculean harvest, silica and micro blast at half strength and microbe life plus c at full strength. The last weeks pictures re loaded. I also raised the lights a bit
Girls are doing great! Flowering perfectly! They are filling up their tent, I keep raising the light to keep it 24” above them. I will be doing a staggered harvest as the buds ripen.
Added a layer of soil, watered with Plain PH 6.8 water this week.
Two of them are super tall so I tied the tops over a bit, very gently because Its so late in flowering I don't want to stress them.
Still going wonderfully. The ladies are flowering so beautifully!! I love growing these they are so fun to take care of and watch transform.
I have been sticking to a simple method of adding a layer of Fox farms ocean forest mixed with perlite(2/3 FFOF & 1/3 perlite) and watering with PH 6.8 tap water(I learned this method from a person on Rollitup.com). I also add the microbe life or great white in the water and the plants love it!
This time I am using the herculean harvest during flowering. I used the microblast and silica at the end of veg. I don't know if it makes a difference, it doesn't hurt and I have it on hand. Growing indoor is different than outdoor. When its time (the right season) I will post an indoor/outdoor journal.
I think the taller girls I am growing are the Crystal Candy fast version because they are taller and more sativa like, thiner longer leaves and the pistols are starting to turn so I think it will be done first... who knows though! I have never grown any of these strains and I got the labels mixed up...
This week went well. Wish I had done some training. I know I would yield more. But I am not complaining! I love growing and am happy with progress and learning. I have been calibrating my PH pen every week now and watering about once per week, it has really kept the gnats to a minimum, but the plants might have benefited from more water during veg. Next grow I will water at least 2x per week and do training either LST for autos or mainline for photos. Getting very close now!
Went well again things are moving along. I have begun the staggered harvest process. Harvested the top of Candy fast version(I think since the tags got mixed up I cant say for sure). It finished fastest and was tall and sativa like. Smelled very good! Its drying now. I forgot to take pictures of the drying part. I started to find some seeds in the Crystal Candy fast version. There must have been a light leak or she got stressed out when I bent her tall top over. Its not the end of the world, I am keeping a very close eye 👁️ on all four of them and I don't see any male parts. I have inspected and inspected high and low and cant find any nanners or other signs of pollination on any others... keeping my fingers crossed! There could be lots of reasons too crowded, light leak, gnats?, not enough water(stress), the late LST (stress). Its always a learning experience! Still I love it
Finally I am caught up with my diary!!! This week went just fine! Harvested a little bit more. The first cut was smoked and enjoyed by my people. I am not a smoker anymore just a grower. I took a few clones and put them under 24 hour light in water and aloe vera gel. We will see how that goes. After researching about the zkittles strain by sweet seeds i have found it was renamed sweet zensation so I have updated my diary to reflect that. I am still happy with things and have not found anymore seeds in any other plants. The stem of crystal candy smells like cinnamon when rubbed. Its nice.
I finished the harvest of Crystal Candy fast version and Sweet Zensation. Gorilla Girl has a few more weeks to go. Overall easy grow no problems except for the PH water i messed up one time. Next time I would like to grow in bigger pots and definitely train earlier.
I love growing!! I didn't weigh or smoke to I cant attest to those qualities but my people say is excellent and they love it!
Hi! Nice choice of strain, im currently growing the Gorilla Girl strain in organic living soil to get maximum taste out of my flower. What do you think of growing this strain so far? Has it been without problems or have you encountered some issues with the strain in particular?
Anyway, have a great day and happy growing. 😎 🌱
1/19/21 - turned lights off for 24 hours and tightened up the tent to be dark. First time I have done this don't know of it will help anything.
1/20/21 changed lighting to 12 /12 and gave a really good watering with lots of runoff. Added a top layer if soil. Plants responded well. Trimmed off all the dead/ dying leaves.
