I know, I know... I'm not done yet with my grow from @weedseedsexpress and I'm already starting a new diary ahaha
Oh well, now that I found Grow Diaries, I have more fun than ever, writing and recording all my grows and its development.
I love growing weed, and especially smoking it. It's just the best feeling in the world, end of story.
And thanks to a sum of factors, like the @Hesi_Official contest, I decided to start the diary just with the purpose of making it as steady as possible, wanna really plan things properly and see where this small improvement will take me.
After looking back at my past grows, can tell now that I learned some valuable lessons, mostly on handling autos in early stages, how temperature and RH can affect a crop from early stage, among other lessons that I believe will make me a better grower.
This time I'll go for a single diary, but multi strain. And I'm putting all my money on the Zkittlez and Gelat.OG, as the other 2 I already grown before.
Very happy with the Northern Lights, can't really say the same about the Bubblegum, but still have 5 seeds left and also I blame myself for stressing her in a early stage. Looking forward to get a better crop from this one this time.
Germination will be done by soaking them in water for a few hours, and transfer to Root Riot cubes and get them going in a small self watering greenhouse I recently bought and feel like giving it a try.
For this grow, I plan to do only LST and defoliation at key weeks/stages. Maybe topping autos isn't as good idea as with the photoperiod ones so, I'll try to manipulate it to a minimum to avoid stress and maximize their potential.
The feeding:
Like always will be done with tap water, usually coming out with an incredible 7.0PH and 18-25PPM, that will be balanced with PH adjusters after adding or not nutrients - depending on the type of feeding.
The nutrients used are all the ones provided by HESI (@Hesi_official) for the contest, and in case of need, BioBizz PH+, PH- to adjust the PH
Nutrient feeding schedule will start in week 2, following the recommended dosage.
Always applied with pressure sprayer, and yes, I test the PH of the water AFTER I spray it, as result vary quite considerably.
Regarding the setup, I made some upgrades and changes:
- Medium: Soil - BioBizz Light Mix
- Fertilizers: HESI
- Pots: 15L Textile pots from Gronest
- Humidifier: HACE MJS-401
- Lights, ballast: Lumatek 400w (Mh and HPS). Digital dimmable ballast 400w
- Tent: Secret Jardin, Dark Room 90cm (3.5ft)
- Carbon filter: Primaklima
- Reflector: Adjust-a-wings avenger medium
- Exhaust: Primaklima
- Circulation fans: Secret Jardin Monkey 16w
- Thermo-hygrometer: Agrolabs

EDIT - Finally got in the Adjust-a-Wings Avenger Medium. It's quite a difference between what I had before and this one. Much more light in the grow, really much more! Can't wait to start this project!

First of all, I hope you all had a great christmas, and wish you all a great new year!
Due to the festivities, I've been a bit way from the internet in general, but I feel it's time to post something.
It's been over a week now since they're in soil, so this is more a end of week 1 report, as week 2 finished today, and will post soon the new week report.
So, in this first week, the 2 bubblegum struggle a little, one looks weird on the leaves but I'll roll with it until further signs of stress r any other condition.
The 2 Gelat.og and zkittlez are going great, and enjoying the conditions.
The adjust a wings is really making miracles, it gives much more light than my previous standard one. Same setup, only that changed and can tell the difference. And yes, I paid the full price for it, I'm not trying to sell it guys, I'm just sharing my great impression about it.
Been misting the grow a lot to keep humidity at least above 40% even though over that it's almost impossible to reach.
In the end of the week I started fertilizing, just with the basics, to get a good start.

End of week 2
They’re growing really fast and healthy. Maybe my best start, despite losing 1 amnesia and 1 northern lights that didn’t popped.
Besides that, they’ve been fed with @hesi stuff following the chart and they really look good.
The grow can’t go over 40% RH but it seems that isn’t as bad as it could be. Temps are usually under 27 which makes it closer to the ideal point.
It’s time to let them grow and soon will start the LST in all of them to see where we can go!

Starting to pre flower.
They look really healthy, been taken care properly and it shows.
Nutrients are nice, and don't stink like other brands, like that!
All levels are in the average levels, just watching them grow.
Unfortunately (for the diary and contest purposes) I've been quite busy this last couple months, and I can't just keep taking pictures, and analyzing things as I did before.
I'm trying now to be more minimalistic with this autos, to see the difference between topping them, LST and just natural growth.
So far, the gelat.og are the tallest, second by zkittlez, and the last and shortest are the bubble gum.
This pics were taken on February 1st, so it's been a while and I'll update again with recent pictures.
Regarding the plants, super healthy growth, all going well. Bubblegum a little too short to be grown together with giants as tends to stay hidden under a 'wing' constantly.
They're all good drinkers, but I'm very surprised with the size of the colas in the bubblegum.
They're definitely a faster breed compared to the others.
The 2 zkittlez are the inbetweeners when it comes to development and followed lastly by the gelato, which are taking forever.

Alright, here we are for another week!
The 2 bubblegum didn't grew that much, bud the top buds are enormous. Very good development of the main cola. Great smell of candy, impossible not to figure that out. Nice trichome production. Flushing next week, chopping 7 to 10 days after that.
The 2 Zkittlez, one is almost done her cycle, the other is a few weeks behind. I'll probably take one down together with the 2 bubblegum. Flushing also programmed for the one almost finishing.
The 2 Gelat.og are starting to develop nice bud, but are still a long way until crop. Heavy drinkers, I feel I under watered them for some time.
Besides that, temps been much better lately (outside -15C really helps ahahah) , RH is good around 35%, the plants shows no signs of diseases or any pests in the grow.
Week 9 started wednesday, and one of the bubblegum is really giving signs that she's done.
After the flush, it's just a matter of time until the right moment comes. Monday is my day, let's see how it goes til there.
The Bubblegum #2 is a few days behind, not far from the final day, but I'd say at least Thursday.
Zkittlez #1 is at the same stage of Bubblegum #2, so Thursday..
Zkittlez #2 is way delayed. She basically started flowering a couple weeks ago. Two totally different sisters this two.
Gelat.OG #1 and #2 are alive and well, getting those colas thick and sticky. Great stuff.
The grow room is great, temps been between 25 and 30 during lights on, down to 20 in the off time.
Feeding with nutrients only Zkittlez #2 and the Gelat.OG #1 and #2. The remaining ones are in a water diet, from the flush. Getting the soil dried to get them in the dark room a couple days.
Meanwhile, had to cut a little something to dry and try out. The bubblegum smells just too good to be left untouched at this point. It really smells like a bag of candy. Always though this was BS, but well, here I am all happy about it ahahah

Buds are getting thick, good resin production.
Top cola is bending almost 90 degrees now in both gelat.og as they come to an end.
Planning to flush them during the weekend or so.
The last zkittlez is taking forever, don’t know what happened here, but it’s like she’s a couple weeks behind.
Cut down 2 bubblegum and one zkittlez, been really nice smoke. Sticky one the zkittlez 😅🌱😍

It’s a strain that really grows small, and gives me low yields. Not so amazed by it.
Quite fast, doesn’t like much touching or heavy feedings. A “leave me alone” kinda strain.
Short, doesn’t yield much.
Nice fruity aroma, smooth smoke, but a little too light for my taste/use.
A nice strain, but far from what I used to smoke back in Amsterdam’s coffee shops.
Love this stuff. Very sweet and tasty to smoke, really pleasant, especially in the end of the day. Feels good to enjoy this smoke, and again, smells really good this one!

2 totally different phenotypes, as one was already harvested, and the other isn't even half way of flowering after 10 weeks.
Nice trichome production, great fresh and fruity smell, this plant is a pleasure to smoke in the end of the day.
Dried her upside down hanging in a tent I have for the purpose, at 25c, 30%RH -
Only removed fan leaves, no manicuring, been doing that as I smoke, noticed the bud lasts longer and with a better smell and you end up saving loads of time.
Really happy with this smoke, smells like proper weed. Maybe was the best time I dried and cure(ing).
Only problem is that I'm smoking more as it's so tasty ahaha.

PS - I'll start looking for the "original" Zkittlez to try out and check the differences between them.
Update: 12 April 2021 - Chopped down Plant #2
So, finally Saturday I chopped her down. She looked now ready and delicious, although I only notice yesterday how many seeds she has allover the place. She hermied in front of me without noticing, not good at all and need to start looking much better and in detail into the plants.
Feel like an idiot now.
Anyways, it was a full week!
Emptied the grinder collector and pressed it down a little, makes a very nice smoke, light but pleasant, the kind of stuff it keep you going all day without the dumb effect.
From all trimming made the bubble hash. Got a little too green as the 220micron bag's stitches slightly opened letting some contaminants in the final mix, hence the green color.
This was a hit. in opposition to the grinder stuff, this sent me straight to the moon, really heavy stone effect, even thinking was hard. Reminded me those afghan/ moroccan balls we used to get back in the early 2000's.
The weed itself it's still drying so the smoke report will be updated in there.
715g of fresh cut plant is good, let's see the potency and the seeds. Might turn it all into bubble hash, if I see it'll be an hassle to remove seeds.
On an earlier bud I've cut and dried, smoked it and you can see pure white ashes in the bong. Ain't that a beauty?

This was a handful of a week! Uff!
This week we finished drying the bubblegum, started the curing, and... smoked it all ahahaha
Too early I know, but was all we got here...
Anyways, the first zkittlez is ready for curing (or at least we hope so) and was infused with some orange peel in the mason jars. I mean, why not?
The second one is now more advanced on the flowering, looks really beautiful, like a proper Christmas tree. Heavy drinker, she likes her nutes on the heavy side of the equation.
The 2 gelat.og are now flushed, and it’s just a matter of days until the first chop chop. Nice to see so much resin and the leaves starting to turn purple. Really awesome!
Since the flush, they start to smell much better and fruitier.
The flush: I showered 30 liters on each, let it run for an hour and goes back to the tent. When the soil dries I cut it off.

Well, that was it, was shorter the writing than the work I had this week ehehe

Another week of harvesting, this time was a gelat.og, hanging drying since wednesday at a 50% RH and +- 24c . 300g wet isn't bad at all.
This means now it's only left from this grow one zkittlez and one gelat.og until is finished.
Been monitoring them closely as the gelat.og is days away from harvesting - leaving her a bit longer for extra amber trichomes as I use it mostly as sleeping remedy.
The zkittlez will take a good pair of weeks at least as the flowering it's still going at a high pace.

Finally chopped down both Gelat.og, and they're dried too, time for curing now.
Meanwhile the zkittlez stills on the flowering stage, taking quite a bit of time to finish, as it seems it's gonna take at least another 3 weeks
Took some excess foliage to increase light exposure, and when took the pictures realized how big the buds are getting. Very satisfying to watch the formation of trichomes.
Feed still 2litres every 48h with the nutes mentioned above, she's loving this juice!
Temps are very nice, the swamp cooler keeps them low and a higher RH. Perfect!
Note a big difference between 400w hps and the spider farmer sf4000. Way better the latter.

Oh, and it smells like a tropical fruit mix, like pineapple and mango. Really awesome!
Nice plant to grow indoor, tall compared to the average autos, but very easy to maintain, basically was just watering/feeding and look for signs of any deficiencies.
On the smoke side, great stuff. Smells like mango in the jar, and after rolling, before you light, it really emanates a mango sorbet kick that it's impossible to stay indifferent to it.
Subtle, not so heavy, is a pleasant weed to smoke all day long giving you a buzz that keeps you 'awake' to do all your daily tasks.
Good stuff.
Good auto do cultivate, the 2 sisters were very similar on the phenotype, from seed to harvest. That's a good sign of consistency and quality of the strain in my opinion.
Easy plant to grow, goes tall compared to the average, likes to be fed full dosage of nutrients, takes high temps as I experienced a couple days (unfortunately when my humidifier broke).
On the structure, it develops huge main colas, with 30cm/ 1ft long (had to use bamboo cane to hold her up), and some small side branches, that I should have lollipoped to increase yields.
Nice trichome production, very intense smell of tropical fruits/ mango.
Very pleasant to smell it when opening the jar or right after grinding it. Can't say it enough times: it has a very strong punch of mango sorbet, one of the best tastes I ever experienced on bud. That's remarkable.
The effects are more on the sativa side, you can just keep smoking it, you won't get sleepy/couch-locked. I prefer it a bit more indica, or with more amber trichomes, and as I'm growing already 3 more, I know now when to harvest the next time.
Was dried as 54% RH on a average temperature between 23/25 degrees celsius for 5/6 days, depending on their doneness.
All the buds were after manicured in dry, and placed in Mason jars with humidity packs. Being burped everyday for a couple hours in a cupboard, for at least 2 weeks.
The learning curve never stops, and there were many lessons learnt in this grow.

One more week is now finished, let's have a look as what happened during this last 7 days and nights
Used the weekend to make a nice cleaning again - I like to take all from the tent and clean on Sundays. Gives a good feeling.
The plant is still full flowering, finally some yellowing and browning pistils. The color of the bud is gorgeous.
Flush has started officially, 2l water every second day for a week, and then probably should be ready a few days after.
It's a great smell coming from this plant, so sweet. Is amazing!
Temps and RH are very stable, which is great. 27c day 60%Rh 24c night ~70%RH

I'm more on the sleepy side, so the more amber the better :D
The water contains only honey on the feedings. 2,5l every 48h. Today was the last one, and I believe on Wednesday will get chopped.
Amazing production, both in size of the buds, trichomes, pistils, it's all on fire and I love to see that. Coming soon with the update.

@TheGourmetWeed, i also use tap water but I try to fix ph between 6-7.
I was giving them 3L for 4 plants each 2 days, i was 1-0-1 for nutrients (monday nutrients-wednesday tap water-friday nutrients) and it worked very well but I had to flush A LOT before chopping.

So far didn't have any problems. How frequently were you feeding them?
I feed each one half liter/ 1 pint of nutrient water every 24h.
And seems to workout.
Again, my water is out of tap with 7.0 ph, and 28 to 34 ppm.
