As you can see I am doing a water only soil grow. The soil was easily sourced from a local big box store and the water is from my well. I will not adjust any pH or add any nutrients. The light is 24" away and set at 20% power. There are two Crinkle Cut Autos in this diary. I have grown one earlier and STS reversed it for pollen. I will be pollenating one of these plants for more seeds.
Both plants are doing very well. I added a humidifier early this week. The plant on the right seems to be growing faster. I believe it may be because the fan is blowing the mist from the humidifier on that plant. I am going to trade places for this week and see if the other plant will catch up.
This would be a great time to top but Twisted Tree claims this is a great strain for a SOG setup so I am letting them go to see their natural structure.
Light power is now @ 25% = 95 watts
Seen some great growth this week. The smaller one did not shoot up like I had expected but has gotten very bushy with new growth. The taller one has some huge leaves. I am leaning toward pollinating the shorter bushy one since I prefer the short bushy plants. Light power has been turned up to 55% = about 150 watts. The two seedlings are also Crinkle.
Another explosive week of growth. I had taken off all the fan leaves on the larger plants early this week. They were massive. The plant did not seem to mind as you can see it is taking over. I had made sure to snap some pics of this SP3000 by Mars Hydro @MarsHydroLED The light that is making these monsters. As you can see it is time for a bigger room and maybe a new SP6500 to light the way.
light power increased to 100%
This is my first time using this light in this small room. I turned it up too high. I looked back on the journal and seen that it was probably too high at 75% also. I dialed it back down to 60%. We have some light burn but we will continue on. Both plants are doing well besides the light burn and some fungus knats. I think they are both taken care of now. There is a big difference between these two plants. The seeds were worked to F5 but we will see how consistent their phenotypes will be soon enough with the next two that are growing.
Just down to the last couple of weeks watching the buds grow. Not much happening. The closet is full and smells like fresh grapes to me. The tall plant looks as though it will be all popcorn buds, not my favorite to harvest.
It has been a rough go at the end of these. I believe the fungus knats ate enough roots that these couldn't flower the way they should have. I decided to chop and dry. I will do a thorough cleaning and try again later. Thanks for reading and sorry for any disappointment.
@ManWithWrench, your making the world a slightly better place passing out good quality Ganja.
Might look at the SP6500 when I upgrade to my 4x4. For now I'll keep an eye on your harvest stats with it
@GuerrillaNo_4, Thanks for the tips. I would say a decent sized grow but I want to push the limits of grams per square feet/meter. I have been experimenting different strains for height and weight trying to find just the right one, then it would be a decision of growing SOG or just tediously manicuring the plants to get results. It has been a fun hobby and the end results are enjoyed by family and friends.
@ManWithWrench, spray it down with disinfectant and hang a UVC bulb with O3 gas generation in the tent for about 30 mins. It'll kill any transient microorganisms hiding in the nooks and crannys. Just make sure you don't inhale too much of the gas or expose yourself to bulb for too long.
You should be good then
SP6500, jeez you'd want a decent sized grow for that badboy!
