At the end of last week, I top amended about 1.5 tbs per 3 gallon pot and dramatically increased my watering. I water til minimal runoff now every 2 days and its pretty dry by then. I've gotten a lot more aggressive with my LST and the plants are taking off like crazy. I didn't think I was in the flowing phase yet, but when I took the photos for this post, it certainly looks that way. I do have a yellow leaf or two, but I'm currently thinking that this is a previous deficiency that I fixed with the top amend, not a current problem. In short - Started week with 1.5 tbs Dr Earth Life per 3gallon pot - Water until minimal runoff - LST as much as possible at this stage

When should I start watering to run off? Do I need to wait for flower phase? At week 3 of veg, I am currently watering about a cup and a half but I feel like it could take more.

I agree, plants should be watered to run off each and every time you water, this is the only way you will know that the substrate is wet/moist all the way through. Roots are amazingly long and to have pockets of dry substrate will hinder root growth and possibly kill off beneficial soil microbes that your plant relies on. Take a look at my diary "Holy Mackerel...WTF to see a 6 inch taproot from a 3week old 3 inch seedling that I culled. The pictures should explain why watering to run off is so important for healthy root growth. Follow your intuition when growing and try to not be overwhelmed by too much information overload. "Listen" to your plants and get to know them, rather than worrying about some obscure suggestion that just messes with your mind. After a while growing, you will indeed learn to understand what your plants are "telling" you and "listening" to your plants is what makes the difference between "master" growers and "wannabes"! If you find yourself thinking your plants need more water, then you are learning how to "listen" to your plants. Listening is the key to learning. Hope this helps, all metaphysical and stuff! ...Organoman.

I’m going to agree with NorCal on this one but be sure to get your runoff ppm/ec and ph. In the past when I’ve ran OF I have had very high ppm and very low ph. I’m talking 3000+ ppm and 5.4ph and this was with an input of 6.5ph. This caused lockout of nutrients which caused deficiencies. At first it would seem like you need nutrients but in reality it’s nutrient lockout and adding more nutrients will just raise the ppm even higher! Since you’re running an autoflower you don’t need nearly as much nutrients as a photoperiod plant would. Honestly autos really don’t even need many veg nutrients at all but benefit from about the same amount of bloom nutrients as a photoperiod plant during flower. I solved this issue while growing an auto strain but doing a flush and raising my input phnwith an organic silica product called Agsil16h. It’s technically potassium silicate and scholarly sourced research has proven that it is the most readily available form of silica for plants compared to any other type of silica. I raised my input ph with this product to around 6.8 and by the next two feedings the runoff numbers were much better. Around 1500ppm and 6.3ph which is optimal for flower. I hope this helps a bit!

Do I need to lower my lights? I'm using a Kingbrite 240W Samsung lm301h and I just went into flowering period. I think the light is a bit overpowered for the room, so I've left it at about 21 inches above the tops of the plant. At this distance, all areas are getting 27k lux.

We used two 240w in a 4x4 in flower we kept them at 12 inches from the tops. Worked out great. 🤘😤

I've been watering until completely dry with this Amnesia, but the leaves look a bit droopy. I've looked at other diaries of this strain and it looks normal but I was curious if anyone thinks I should pull back on watering even further.

Overwatered, underwatered, too hot, too cold, too much light, too little light, dead roots... there are a lot of possibilities here. Overwatered I think I most likely but I believe your light is too close also. Your model pushes 730 micromoles at 20". I don't think you want to break 1000 micromoles in flower (900 is often the highest recommended). Assuming your light is working properly, you should probably go up to 18".

Someone suggested that I use this pump to remove excess water from my tray. It wasn't powerfull enough for that, but it works perfectly (I think) for slowly(ish) pushing a good bit of water to the plants. Is this too fast? Is it too slow? Does it really friggen matter? See vid

I don't think it matters but does provide a great way to apply water without getting leaves wet . Just make sure you have proper run off and you test ph of run off with a calibrated tool. Additional phosphorus and potassium are needed during flowering to juice up buds as they are finishing. Good luck and happy growing 🌲🌲🌲👊

Teas atent exactly npk acurate so amending with salts is fine. If u dont mind supporting Monsantos then General Hydroponics is great right now 1 teaspoon of green purple and pink per gallon of tap water and RECHARGE froma amazon will help soooooo much
