My last grow went to absolute shit. This was due to a lack of experience on my side. I never flushed so my soil was extremely acidic, I had to cut early and only got about 12g. I have kept a clone of the other plant and have put this strain next to it. Have some new lights too. They get extremely bright so I'm excited. No blurple pics anymore either ;).
Critical Orange punch
(3/12) G0 - > planted seed in soil.
(9/12) G6/V0-> seed seems to have just come out of the soil. Looking fine for now. Will have to check up more regularly in this stage.
Critical Orange punch
V1: looks okay, soil stays too wet but I knew that was going to be the case. Might add something for drainage when the plant can handle some stress.
V4: New set of leaves starting to come out. Looking fine. Soil definitely needs some drainage however...
V5: Added some slow release cal-mag. Ordered some perlite that will arive soon.
V7: leaves seem a bit wavy. Not at home today so I'll get a better look tomorrow to see if it's light stress or just genetics.
Candy kush express
(started reveg about the same time as seed popped out of the ground)
V4: It went from almost no signs of reveg to a lot of new and weird looking leaves in just a few days. First time I'm seeing reveg irl. Pretty fun, but keeping my expectations low for this plant.
I finally manage to get perlite but as my plants are already in the final container I had to work around the roots to mix it in my soil. It's not a great solution but it's better than nothing.
I also turned the lights down a bit to around 10k lux. Which should still be plenty at this stage.
Critical Orange punch
V8: first set of leaves seem wavy but are healthy and feel solid otherwise so I guess it's fine.
V10: not at home so my relatives are taking care of it. Looks like it's growing very well from the picture they sent me.
V13: very satisfied with growth. Growing fast with healthy leaves. Soils seems to be drying out far more quickly which is a good thing. Growth seems to lean very much to the indica side for this pheno. Short internodal spacing and big solid leaves.
Candy kush express
V8: crazy amount of reveg. New leaves are looking more serrated already. It also started producing some pistils which is interesting but I guess it's still confused :)
V13: the LST has given the newly developing growth a huge boost. I'm not entirely sure about the coloration of the leaves however. Some seem to be light green on the edges. Will monitor.
Plants getting about 30k lux.
Critical Orange punch
V15: Absolutely booming. Definitely the most vigorous plant I have grown to date. The fan leaves are very large too.
V17: Growing as expected. It's a very bushy plant which won't really fit my SCROG approach but I'll manage. Topping soon. Will probably get rid of some of the lower leaves as they are touching the soil.
V18: Topped at node 6. I usually top a little earlier but this plant is already bushy on it's own.
V21: did some LST and leaf tucking as the very large fan leaves were blocking light from reaching the other branches. The stem was already quite thick even at the higher nodes so LST was not easy.
Candy kush express
V15: lst'd the branch that was growing upwards the most to give other growth some room. Definitely less vigorous than the COP but that's to be expected from a monstercropped clone.
V17: So many branches 😅
V18: Branches shooting upwards. Looking happy. Hopefully it will catch up with the COP.
V21: At about the same heigth as the COP. I expect this one will grow larger because there is more internodal spacing. I will top and SCROG later.
Critical Orange punch
V22: It's insane how this plant filled in the open space from LST in just a day. 3-4 branches are now getting light at about the same height.
V24: Not at home to continue the LST. The plant seems to have some burnt leaf tips but is growing just fine.
V26: the leaf burn doesn't seem to be getting much worse. Will be able to take care of plants in 2 days. The smell is starting to come through on both plants.
V28: watered until runoff. My PH meter wasn't properly calibrated so the PH has probably been too low for a bit. Ordered some PH up and some calmag. Still growing fine except for some spots on the leaves due to the pH. Did some more lst and will allow it to grow upwards from now on. Will scrog when it's large enough.
V29: Bounced back from LST. Not sure my support managed to stay in the ground. It does not like to be tamed 😅
Candy kush express
V22: growing as expected. Leaf tips are curling down however. I expect that this is due to overwatering, not watering for an additional day or two. Might dry out the soil completely to flush afterwards.
V24: Still some leaf tips curling down. Growing well otherwise.
V26: growing well enough.
V28: Same as the COP but no spots or sign of deficiency. Far more stretchy plant which will be better for my scrog.
V29: Bounced back from LST.
Impatiently waiting for my pH up. Plants keep on growing fine with minor signs of deficiency.
The COP is showing it's first signs of sex. The CK has a lot of preflowers already. Will probably keep them in veg until week 6 depending on how big they are.
COP
V30: Lots of branches. Lst'd the main stem at the top as it was growing more quickly than the side branches. Not much smell.
V32: I am an absolute idiot. I badly messed up the last feed as the NPK values were far higher than I thought. Combine that with the too acidic PH and you get this. There's still quite a bit of growth luckily so the plant is not completely stunted. I am not feeding it anything for a while but have still not gotten any notice on the pH up I ordered so there's not much I can do about that for now.
V36: coloration seems to be getting a little more normal with new growth. There's still a ton of nutrient burn but it's not getting worse at least. Definitely refraining from feeding for some more time.
CK
V30: Letting it grow upwards for now so that I can start scrogging soon. Also not much smell at this moment.
V32: same as COP.
V36: same as COP. New leaves seem less affected by the nute burn compared to the COP however.
V38: New growth is looking much healthier on both plants already. Looks like plants pulled through the heaviest part of the nute burn. Still no PH up due to my package being stuck in a nearby country due to COVID restrictions. Plants seem okay(ish) without it for now luckily.
V40: scrog net is up. Topped & fimmed both plants. New growth is quite healthy. Finally gave it some pH up too. Defoliated the small branches growing on the bottom and the most damaged leaves.
V42: Did more defoliation on the bottom and removed branches that were never going to catch up. Both plants are performing well with the SCROG net. The Candy kush is definitely easier to scrog as I already broke 2 branches on the Orange punch that I am trying to clone right now.
Flipping as soon as the net is filled out. No additional nutes at this moment as there is still some slight burning.
The plants have been under 12/12 for a few days now. I'm starting the flower count now on 02/02 as I lost track of them a bit.
Critical Orange Punch
F1: I neglected the plant completely last week as I was very busy. It was looking very droopy with the lower leaves dying due to underwatering. I gave it a good watering and hopefuly it will look better soon. Happy to see some pistils with the newest leaves as this plant wasn't showing much signs of sex until now.
F3: really bounced back thanks to the last watering. Flowers becoming more visible
F5: managed to raise my light a bit as it was going to become an issue soon. Lots of pistils.
Candy Kush Express
F1: This plant is showing a lot of pistils already. It definitely did not take well to the under watering for the past week however. The lower leaves were dying and even some of the highest leaves were already dying off. I hope to be able to take care for them more the next few weeks.
F3: Looking much better. These flowers develop quickly.
F5: Slightly less development than the other plant but seeing the stretch starting.
They were underwatered a bit again. The soil is drying out far more quickly now that the tent is getting hotter due to the lights.
Critical Orange Punch
F9: Bud structure developing well. It's also stretching more than the other plant. Could be looking better but I can't take care of them often.
F11: Looking far better. Slightly burnt tips and signs of phosphorus lockout due to pH being too low. I added some pH up to the soil. And hope new growth will stay healthy.
Candy kush express
F9: not seeing much stretching. Buds are forming well here too. Very different than the COP when it comes to growth.
F11: Not performing too well. I suspect this is also due to the phosphorus lockout. It might also just not be as vigorous anymore due to being it's second time in flower.
Critical Orange punch
F16: Looking quite good. It could use some more phosphorus but I've bought some Bloom nutes from Hesi that should arrive in a few days.
Lots of flower development on the top buds. Doing some leaf tucking for the lower buds as I'm not a fan of defoliating too much.
F17 - P&K nutes added. The buds have a slight citrus smell.
Candy kush express
F16: It's getting a little bigger at last. The buds are very close to each other but they're also developing quite well. Also could use some more phosphorus.
F17 - P&K nutes added. Very different smell. Can't really describe it.
F21: Both plants looking okay. Soil was way too dry and there was some yellowing going on due to this. Gave it a good watering and will try to visit them a little more. Flower development is quite good. Hope to see them explode in the next few weeks :)
F23: Happy with the development. I don't think the Candy kush is still going to produce leaves at this stage. Too bad as the older ones took quite a bit of damage. Buds are still developing okayish and their smell is really sweet. Definitely stronger smell than the other plant.
The Critical Orange punch is definitely healthier. It's growing larger buds and has a ton of healthy leaves. The smell is low but when slightly pinching one of the buds there was a very pronounced citrus smell. I like it a lot.
F31: Once again not really able to take care of these plants. Very dry soil which caused more yellowing and slowed bud development. Will ask a relative to check on them every other day. Not doing terrible all things considered. The smell on both plants is very nice and sweet.
F37: smell is getting quite strong in growing area. COP seems to be filling out more and will likely have long but also compact buds. The CK will have smaller but compact buds.
F50: I harvested the CK a few days ago. It wasn't growing much more and the thricomes didn't look that far from harvest anymore. The COP also has quite a bit of yellowing but buds are doing great. Harvest won't be that much longer and I'm really excited to start my outdoor growing season but I am at the legal limit until this one is done.
F51: Noticed the yellowing was actually it's fall colors coming through. There's quite a bit of Purple on the leaves and sugar leaves. First time I'm seeing this.
F57: Harvested today, will update when dried!
I'm happy that I was able to improve my skill compared to the last grow. I grew 3x as much with a revegged plant. That's definitely not bad. I'm also growing a Critical Orange Punch and that one is just much easier to grow.
This has been my favorite strain to grow so far. Recovers from issues very quickly. Very vigorous and solid branches. I would definitely lollipop it more next time as there is quite a bit of popcorn bud. The main colas are dense and big however. Has a mostly kush smell with a hint of Citrus. Taste is quite sweet.
