So far so good. Plants are super healthy. The Cheese has started to flower earlier than the Grapefruit, both planted at the same time. Lots of growth in the past week. The Cheese is getting furry! Grapefruit just started making pistils.
Got a fan running on most of the time. Have a fresh air intake triggered by temperature sensor when temperature reaches 25C, bring the tent down to 22.5C, also breaks humidity.
Pics were taken on day 39.
Reduced temperature a bit. Cheese is way ahead of Grapefruit. Grapefruit is turning into a huge plant.
Will update daily from now on since we hit week 8
Added another fan to lower humidity even more. Getting a even 50% now. Still defoliating one or two leaves per day. They drink a lot more now.
Grapefruit is turning into a huge plant, I wished I had topped that one. It's hitting 120cm now. Had to move the light up on the Grapefruit side.
Cheese is not growing that much anymore, just budding. Grapefruit leaves smell a lot more than the Cheese ones.
Grapefruit is getting messy, definitely should have topped/LST that one more.
Other than that, so far, so good, no issues whatsoever.
New pics everyday. Videos on Wednesdays and Sundays or more often.
Still slowly removing leaves on the Grapefruit, which smells a strong fruity smell, but it doesn't like that much light, getting a bit of a burn on the top buds because it grew too tall. Lots of bud sites but small buds.
Cheese is making huge buds! Lots of trichomes, low smell, very easy strain to grow.
New pics/videos everyday.
Still removing leaves covering bud sites but very slowly. Grapefruit smell is strong, cheese smell is medium.
Grapefruit is now a very large plant, way bigger than I was expecting for an auto. Its getting some light burn because it grow too tall.
Can't fix this as my light is all the way up...
Grapefruit is kicking in the high gear and starting to get swollen. Cheese is just cruising, very easy plant to deal with.
The smell is terrific! Keeping an even 50% humidity right now to prevent bud rot as much as possible.
Last bit of defoliation going on. I think they need another 2 weeks since I run 16 hours. The swollen up has started real good on the Cheese, Grapefruit is a tad behind.
Started flushing at W13D5
No more defoliation, no more feed, we've entered flushing territory! Grapefruit is swelling up nice now with a strong amazing smell. I was expecting Cheese to get swollen up a bit more by now, and is not very pungent but looks amazing. Last week or two before harvest.
Most probably cheese's last few days. Grapefruit looks to be at least 10 days away, maybe more. Cheese's trichomes have just started turning milky, even got a very few amber ones! Gotta check them every day now, Will probably harvest W15D3.
Indeed, I harvested Cheese on W15D3. Kind of disappointed with it, it started real good but never really swell up. Grapefruit is looking better.
Grapefruit looking like it's enjoying the extra space now that the Cheese is gone.
Grapefruit is ready to be harvested at W15D7.
Cheese looked good until it was time to swell up and it never happened. Very disappointed and took way longer than expected. But it was a easy plant to grow. Note that the seed was a freebie.
I'll let it cure before getting into it. However, smoked a dry bud with the hay taste just to feel it a bit. Relaxing but definitely not great. I do have a cheap Chinese LED lamp and I ran 16 hours. It grew a decent size and for a while it looked very promising. When it was time to swell up, it just didn't happen. I gave it the recommended amount as recommended by the MAX line of products. I'm leaning to say I wasn't lucky with that seed (since the other strain I grew along side did much better) and also that my lamp is not the greatest. The plant did look super healthy throughout the grow. Maybe the MAX products aren't top of the line either? So many variables... I
I didn't set the description of the LED light properly, it's actually 100W custom LED.
Did way better than the Cheese of the same brand. Some buds are of decent size but a lot of them are pop corn buds. I do have a budget light though so overall, I'm happy but there's room for improvment.
Nice setup! I personally have nothing to deal with temp and humidity. So I'm managing this by closing/opening doors and windows :D And with great success lol.
But being at 40% Humidity on late flowering gonna be impossible for me I believe....
I wish you good luck :)
This auto cheese is verry interesting btw, I'm going to have a serious look at it!
Amazing how different your cheese auto is from mine. I’ve seen both short bushy and tall lanky plants. Wonder if it’s the grow methods or variability in the phenotype?
@@BeachGrower, this is a freebie for me as well. Using her to test out my setup. I did top my plant (which is not always advised for autos) I went pretty hard on the training as well. It will be interesting to see how yield compares.
@TheChronicHunter, nice thanks! Funny how they really look different. My stuff is not that dense right now compared to yours. Everything looks orange/yellow but you have a lot of green and sugar leaves. Also your leaves fingers are larger than mine. Most are 3 thin fingers here... For me this was the "freebie" Cheese as my Northern Light did not sprout, had to go with the back up seed :( Maybe the freebie is different after all...
@GuerrillaNo_4, Cheese has been super easy to grow and it didn't make a lot of big leaves so yeah its got a lot of light going through. Grapefruit on the other hand has been harder to deal with, still defoliating here and there but still good light coverage. I'd def grow cheese again. Thanks for stopping by!
@@BeachGrower, you must have pretty even light coverage. I always have the buds in the center mature faster, just by a week or so, nothing major.
I'd say the cheese stinks. Cheese and Haze were all I could get growing up, so I have a nostalgic appreciation for it.
@GuerrillaNo_4, Hey thanks! Will probably do Cheese 1st all at once, then Grapefruit all at once too. The buds are pretty uniform, all ripe at the same speed it seems (more or less).
