The leaves look a little yellow from a mistake I made during the first week when I gave them 5.6 pH water! In the transplanting process I sprinkled the roots with Dynomyco.

This update is for the single person following this grow! I feel I have an obligation to you ma’am/sir! I officially raised my light as high as it could go and switched the light schedule to 12-12 instead of 18-6. It took me a while to get everything situated, I was missing a couple of supplies to take cuttings, such as large jiffy 7 pellets, a heat mat, hydro thrive etc. This is my first time taking cuttings so I’m excited to see how many actually root. I will be feeding the main plants with Terra Flores (3ml/L), and Boost (1-2ml/L) everyday, and PK13/14 during week 5. I will be spraying the cuttings with 5.8 pHed water with some Hydro Thrive. I really like the insert tray that holds together the peat pucks so the cuttings are stable, and as you noticed from the photos, I had no room in my 4x4 grow tent for the cuttings, so they will be a closet grow for now :) Also in the photos, I topped all the main plants, they’re all about 25-27 inches tall and grew a little bit since week 15. If you’re wondering what AI stands for, it’s probably artificial intelligence or Allen Iverson, your guess is as good as mine... :)

First week of flower done 🌹 ! I didn’t really notice too much change. The plants have grown, I’de say the leaves have fanned out from where I topped them, and overall the plants grew maybe 1-2 inches. I decided to switch the 12-12 light schedule to 10 on 14 off, just in case there is any light leak, they will have an extra two hours of darkness. I guess there are more savings on the power bill as well, but that was not the main motivation... pH watering between 6.2 and 6.6, with 2-2.5 mL of Terra Flores and 2 mL of Boost, 1L per plant. As for the cuttings, some look great, others are starting to get yellow leaves, which is worrisome I guess, I’m interested to see how many actually survive and grow roots! :D Spray them with HydroThrive, pH 5.9 water solution twice a day.

late update, week 2 of flower 🌹 done! Not too much change, all four plants have flower development, look like they grew a little bit more but I didn’t measure, one plant looks ahead of the rest (the white flowers). I would say I achieved at least a 50% success rate with the cuttings which I am very happy with, I have more plants than I need, I have cuttings from all four plants and plenty from my ‘favorite’ phenotype. Which is the best is still an open question as I have not harvested the plants yet, so I’m not going based on taste, quality, etc, I’m judging based on how the plants looked (bushy vs. lanky) and how they developed throughout the grow. I transferred the best cuttings into solo cups and have them under a T5 light at the moment, outside of my grow tent because there is no chance of them getting any light in there. Some sprouted some nice roots. I’m not sure how the schedule is going to work out, I still have about 6 weeks left of flower, hopefully the cuttings don’t get too big before harvest, so there could be a time to switch out the old with the new!

Week 3 of flower 🌹 done. I noticed something flying around in my tent the other day, I sent the best photos I could take of the pests to someone more knowledgeable than me and they said they could be aphids or white flies. Probably aphids, and noted that I had excess vegetative growth that I could clip and would reduce pest sites. I was able to get a better photo today, I think they are white flies. I did a some pruning, maybe not the best time to prune during flower but I want to reduce the risk of the pests coming back and it looks like they were only on the plant that was in a corner that received the least fresh cool air. This will increase air flow. As I know it, pests and cold don’t mix. As you noticed I didn’t prune one, I ran out of time so I will be doing it tomorrow. I also sprayed the plants with cold pHed 5.9 water, dousing them thoroughly on and under the leaves to try and deter the pests without any soap. I ordered some neem oil and will be spraying the pots and around them, not on the plants themselves. I put all the cuttings from pruning as I was cutting in a bucket with cold soapy water to kill any larvae/pests. I noticed some larvae under the leaves, maybe one or two, but I might of caught it just in time because there weren’t many... I’m cutting out BOOST this week because it contains molasses, I don’t want to encourage the pests. Also turning off the heater for the night so the cold breeze will hopefully kill more of them, I will be checking that it doesn’t go below 18°C. Some of the plants are falling under their own weight so I tied them together... not sure I did the best job. I rotated the plants so that the one I found pests on is now closest to the fresh air source. I took the dome off the cuttings too soon, rookie mistake, so some of the new growth dried up, I have put them back under the dome and they seem to be a lot happier 🙂 and I will slowly introduce them to the outside air with the vent regulators. **UPDATE: I rinsed all four plants in a sink with some cold to lukewarm warm, the plants look like they need to recover a little from that, but they're bouncing back. At least I got rid of most of that sticky residue on the leaves! Today I'm going to let them recover, if I see any more aphids, I might do another rinse tomorrow. The buds are falling under their own weight so I bought a scrog net and some plant clips to hold them up. Neem oil should come in today. Scrog net I'm hoping tomorrow! **UPDATE #2: Scrog net installed, sprayed the pots with neem oil water mix, scrog net has a smell.

Hello Growers! Week 4 of flower 🌹 done! I’m happy to see my plants bounce back from that shock treatment! I can barely see the scrog net anymore! Pests seem to be under control, I will start using the PK 13/14 this week! Bud development coming in weighing down the plants, scrog net holding everything together.

Late update for week 5 of flower 🌹! Nevertheless got through it ! Not too much has changed, maybe more bud formation caused the buds to get a little bit bigger. I had an interesting last couple of days, because I’m growing in Happy Frog 🐸 with no perlite or drainage system I find the nutrients tend to build up sometimes, but not an issue, as soon as I notice some weird leaves or burnt tips, I usually just flush them with clean 6.2 water for a couple of days. I’m still at war with the aphids, I find this unacceptable and would like to definitely avoid them in the future, I’m probably going to need some tips for the next grow and am looking into cleaning my tent after this grow, seeing leaves with honeydew is so disappointing, but I’m almost into week 6 of flower so I guess I’m almost done. So I noticed that maybe the nutrient might of been building up, the tips were a little burnt, and ironically I couldn’t find an aphid when I overfed so I thought that made them take a couple steps backward. I flushed my plants for three days straight and now I think everything is back to normal, the plants seem to look like they loved the clean water as buds grew over the last three days. But after three days of no nutrients I noticed a couple of aphids here and there, so I trimmed the leaves I noticed that had some. The plants are back on the nutrient schedule, I only did 3 days of PK13/14 so I’de like to get another 4 more days in as well. Good Trichome formation, still clear, I’m waiting on the trichomes to be cloudy ☁️☁️☁️ ! I think I’m going to trim a little bit of the leaves that I see with honeydew every day. What to do about the aphid residue? Not sure I want that on my leaves after harvest... Home stretch on Wednesday, that is week 6... two weeks left to the approximate 8 week flowering schedule. Week 6 of flowering done!🌹 Not too much to brag about this week, buds are getting nice and fat weighing down the stems, I kept an eye on my plants all week and it looked like I was giving too much nutrients, I got in maybe 3 more days of PK13/14 but then I had to switch to just 6.2 pH water, too many burnt tips. I would find one leaf with a bunch of aphids almost every day, so I’de trim 20 leaves off per plant most days, especially leaves with aphids on them or honeydew. I started noticing too many white flies for my liking, so today I did a little trimming so more light could get to the bottom buds, clipped what would be popcorn buds 🍿, and gave them a little shower under water to hopefully wash away the aphids too! I’m pretty sure the rinse washed away the honeydew on most of the leaves. Can’t be lazy in this game! Now my plants are a little water logged 👎, but they should bounce back in a couple of days and looking like their regular selves in a week. Coming up on week 7 soon! I also went back to a 12on/12off light schedule instead of the 10on/14off light schedule I used for the first 5 weeks of flower ‘cause I was scared of light leak, the plants have two more hours of light in the home stretch. Still waiting on those cloudy ☁️🌫️☁️🌫️ trichomes! Happy growing🌱

Almost into week 8! 🌹 Late update because plants were still bouncing back from the rinse. Not the prettiest after a rinse. Buds are really weighing down the stems now. No more nutrients! I already did a week of flushing as I spoke with someone more knowledgeable then me and they said I could start. Maybe one more week of flushing, let’s see what happens, I still don’t have any amber trichomes yet, but this is a CBD plant so I’m wondering if it’s different for more hemp-type plants? Boy do the phenos differ, I have one plant that looks like a major producer but with many little buds rather than a polka-dot spread of golf ball sized buds, and it’s all fallen over under it’s own weight. In general all the buds really filled in, I don’t have any nuisance buds anymore, but I probably still have some popcorn buds here and there. Aphids seem to still be there but have taken a step back. The plant has fine undertones of a ginger smell with maybe some basil 🌿 too, pleasant but strong*. I doubled the watering to half a gallon of plain 6.2 pH water, I was expecting the plants to be more water logged, but they seem to be doing okay with exception of pink stems. The cuttings have grown and some of the leaves look weird, I think that might be a mix of pH issues and too much nutrients, so I’ve been giving them a dousing of 6.2 pH water, plain, waiting til they wilt a little and then dousing again with plain 6.2 pH water. Stress testing them and letting them absorb whatever nutrients are still there. The new growth looks good so that’s all that counts I guess. 🏁🏁🏁almost there! Happy Growing 🌱

Today is the day, 4 days over 8 weeks of flower🌹 ! I cut the plants, and begin the harvesting process. I spoke with people more experienced than me in growing, some suggested that I cut two weeks ago, or at least a 5 days flushing and then cut, others suggested that I go through a 2 week flushing period, in the end I went with the two week flushing period given that it had only been six week’s worth of flowering and the tris looked pretty clear to me, at least to my novice eye, and a 2 week flush couldn’t hurt I guessed. I tried my best to drown those plants in two weeks, giving them double the volume of water every day as much as I could, it was suggested to me that I give them triple the volume but I don’t know how anyone can give their plants 3L each per day, the saucers fill up quick and with a scrog net its not the easiest to remove them to drain. Noticeable self cannibalization on the plants as pink stems emerged and purple under the leaves appearing as well, with some leaves turning yellow and drying up, but I did a trim 6 weeks into flower so I didn’t really notice too many yellow leaves, I suspect if I hadn’t trimmed there would of been more. The plants smell strongly like ginger and citrusy, very pleasant. Also strong sour/dank smell that is pungent and lingers, I couldn’t dry these plants without a carbon filter. I found a humidifier on special and picked one up the other day, hopefully I wont have too many issues maintaining 60% humidity. Now I let the plants dry in the dark for 3 days straight in the tent with the carbon filter on and a humidifier on. I weighed them wet, I’ve got about 720 grams wet, I’m not sure how that will translate into dry flower, maybe 1/3 the content, so at most half pound maybe... It was a little stressful to try to figure out when to chop the plants down as I’m looking at the trichomes with a jeweller’s loupe, and I still wasn’t sure if today was the right day to cut or not, but I figured 8 weeks was the ticket, and I gave the trichomes another look at the end of the day and I thought I spotted one little amber trichome, which was what I was looking for, so that was reassuring :) Happy growing 🌱

Sorry for the late update, I fell sick (not covid) the past week and never finished my harvest until yesterday. I rolled one up last night and tried the fruits of my labor, it had to be the softest smoke I’ve ever had, especially since I had a sinus infection and had trouble breathing during the week, it was not harsh on my lungs or throat, super great taste, like the first dank weed you’ve ever smoked, a nostalgia joint! Only, no psychoactive effects, I’m going to be making some fine CBD oil soon! As you can see on my scale, all that weed weighs about ‘fifteen grams’, take this with a grain of salt... I think I need a more precise scale, so I’m not sure how much I have in terms of total weight, but you can guess for yourself given the volume, and as it is my first grow, I was more focused on making it through than yield, although I’m definitely looking into bigger yields for the next grows! Right now my buds are curing in mason jars, I burp them once a day. Buds smell so good! Very lemon-y 🍋, very refreshing. Happy Growing 🌱
