Day 1- Soaked seed in water overnight then placed directly into the substrate in its final pot (3L)
Day 4 - Seed has germinated about to emerge from soil.
Day 7 - seedling has its first true leaves. Last day of germination week.
Day 7 - entering first week of veg. Hoping to squeeze this ladies life cycle in before I need the tent for preparing my outdoor grow this spring. I’ve read she can finish in 8-9 weeks from seed. We’re about to find out... I’m guessing 10 or 11 might be more realistic.
The seedling is being kept under a mason jar (dome) at the moment. Not shown in photos. To keep humidity up.
Note: nutrients have been added to substrate, and are not being added on a weekly basis. I will likely top dress the plant with a mix of soil, husk, and power bloom in about 2 weeks to address leggy seedlings, increase root formation, add nutrients for flower. Common technique used for tomatoes and potatoes, also known as ‘mounding up’.
Day 36 - start of week 5 of veg. Tops lower on the plants are starting to stretch. I unfortunately accidentally snapped one of the small tops when training. Hopefully we get a couple more weeks of veg here. Judging by other grows it seems like this strain stays in the veg cycle longer than some other autos. Some people have it vegging for 7 weeks. I suspect it will flip in a week or so.
Day 39 - major vegetative growth over the last few days. Getting serious with the tucking and LST now. She’s definitely in the last leg before flower now.
Day 42 - The plant still appears to be in the vegetative stage, which is great. I’m getting a nice bushy plant with lots of tops just what I like to see. One deformed leaf... not sure if I damaged it? Looks like it grew that way. There’s some tip burn on the fan leaves that is likely light stress... I’ve had some issues in my past grow as well. Otherwise she’s very health. Main stem beefy and leaves are nice and green. Last week of veg?
For LST, what I do is tie the main stem down between every nodule or two as the plant grows, wrapping the plant around the pot in a clockwise direction. I’m also tucking fan leaves under other fan leaves to expose as many of the tops the light as possible.
For nutrient, just to clarify, I am not adding any liquid synthetic nutrients at any time. I have mixed Gaia Green 4-4-4 all purpose and power bloom into the media. Media is regular organic potting mix and coco husk in about a 1:4 ratio.
If you saw my lighting setup you would laugh, but has been effective and inexpensive.
Day 44 - a devastating day in the life of Quick One... I got a little overzealous with training and snapped the main top 😬 life flashed before my eyes. I considered for a moment trying to tape the brake.... but it was clean through. Saved it with rooting hormone.
Day 50 - Starting week 7 of veg with no sign of flowering. I’m assuming it’s a photoperiod and have flipped the lights to 12/12 starting this week. Hopefully we’re starting flower next week. I’m a little concerned about nutrient issues on the grow, since I’ve chosen the pot size and media for a small autoflower. I did top dress with potting mix and Power Bloom yesterday to give the media a boost.
I’m starting to treat this like a photoperiod going into flower and have done some light defoliating. I removed a few smaller tops inside the plant that won’t catch up to the others. Still doing LST every few days to allow more even light and even canopy. It looks like the plant will fill the tent... it’s growing uncomfortably fast at this point. In hindsight the accidental topping last week was probably a good thing.
Day 57 - Jan 25th - starting week 8 of veg. It’s been 8 days since I flipped the lights to 12/12. Hoping to see some signs of flower this week 🤞🏼 She’s perfect size for the tent right now.
Day 60 - Jan 28th - still vegging away. I build a DIY ScrOG screen to keep the height down and take advantage of the entire tent area. I’ve been removing smaller tops and leaves that are covering top sites.
Day 65 - Switched to 12/12 16 days ago today. The top that I have in a separate pot has started flowering. If I look really hard I can see a few small pistols starting to form on the main plant... but hardy. Looks like last week of veg.
Day 68 - definitely in flower now.
Transplanted the small top into a larger pot today lol. Just messing around at this point.
Day 70 - starting second week of flower. She started showing serious signs of flower midweek last week. The tops have been stretching over the past couple days. Quite bad tip burn going on.
Day 78 - starting 3rd week of flower. I have done a fair bit of defoliating over the past week, fairly happy with where it’s at now. The screen needed to be removed temporarily due to extenuating circumstances, will go back on shortly here. The plant is doing well and is ready to start forming buds shortly. Still having tip burn from my lights, I think better LEDs are an order for the next grow. Don’t seem to be having any nutrient issues otherwise, she’s looking healthy. Just watering with pH adjusted and filtered water as always, no fertilizers added. I adjust pH with lemon juice and use a meter to test. I’m having trouble understanding why crazy fertilizer regiments are needed to grow quality weed... perhaps I’m ignorant though lol.
Day 85 - starting the 4th week of flower. She’s got loads of pistols now and buds look about to fatten up over the coming weeks. The screen is back on now. Still just watering with pH adjust filtered water.
This looks like a Sativa to me.. but not much experience. It’s been stretching through these first weeks of flower and narrow leaves. Already know it’s not an auto... Quick One should be a strong Indica. Wondering what genetics the plant got. Quick One should be a cross between ruderalis, Williams Wonder, and Northern Lights. Since Northern Lights (photo) is a strong Indica And Williams Wonder (photo) is a Sativa... perhaps it’s may be similar to Williams Wonder. Which makes me wish I took a clone lol.
Day 91 - Starting 5th week of flower this week. Vertical stretching has slowed down now and the buds are growing in size. She’s smelling a tiny bit, but very mild. Don’t think it’ll be a super stinky plant through flower. I can tell the plant is quite root bound in this 3L pot that was sized for a small autoflower. She seems to be handling it well though, no reply signs of deficiencies yet. Still just watering with pH balanced dechlorinated water.
Day 98 - Starting 6th week of flower. Fan leaves are starting to lose their colour as she focuses more on bud development. Just watering with pH 6.5 dechlorinated water... cruising’ to harvest at this point. I’d guess 3-4 weeks out. Still very weak smell, big difference from my cheese grow at the same stage odour wise.
Day 107 - a couple days into week 7 of flower. She just recently started smelling a bit more, still not super strong smell though. Some pistols are starting to brown, hoping to see some fattening of these bud. Maybe 2-3 weeks out on harvest.
How’s it looking guys? Am I a bit short on nutrients maybe.. or is all this yellowing quite normal. Maybe it varies by strain. The pot is definitely not large enough for this trickster. Almost double the planned grow time for this naughty lady.
Day 113 - Starting week 8 of flower. The buds are definitely fattening up now. Trichomes are still mostly cloudy white now. I think I’m probably 1-2 weeks out on harvest now. Hope to see the buds bulk up in the next while here. Still just flushing, she’s definitely low on chlorophyll, starting to funk up the tent for sure. Lovely sweet and fruity smell.
Day 117 - I think this is her last day. The buds aren’t quite ripe and really didn’t fatten up to my liking... but the plant is dying and we’re going to start having other issues if I don’t give her the chop... also we’re 8 weeks over the theoretical harvest date and I desperately need my tent back. So tomorrow is the day. Obviously some genetic issues have presented challenges with this lady. Probably my first and last Quick One lol. She does smell quite nice and fruity. Some of the buds are larger and further along. Looking forward to a weight up... I’m guessing a little over 1 Oz dry.
My quick one was not an auto which I discovered in week 7ish.. spent another 10 weeks running it as a photoperiod and then it never finished properly - plant died before the buds ever fattened up. Ultimately the most expensive shake I’ve ever grown lol. Will not grow again. I’ve had trouble with germination with a number of RQS seeds unfortunately, while my canuk seeds I have had 100% germination treating them the same way.
The seed company did send me a tonne of free seeds because the issues here, so overall I’m fairly happy.
Should have just bought an Oz of weed and cut this puppy down at week 8 when I realized she wasn’t going to be an auto. Genetic issues all around, not an auto and then the buds never fattened up... plant just turned yellow and did not finish. Ended up with less than an Oz of low quality bud.
@TheChronicHunter,sh1t happens, i had one 2-3 runs ago, there did not flower automatically, so i had to "force" it into flower with 12/12 light, little bit strange, but in the end it made me high :P
@Sang79, synthetic fertilizers are not the answer, you are inhibiting the development of microrhizomal symbiosis with the root systems of your plants. This plant has a genetic issue I was sent a hundred and twenty dollars worth of free product by the seed bank.
Hello, I also have quick one, would it be possible to contact you to have some information?
I leave you my instagram thank you for sending me a message!!!
