Karmic Connection Sub-Irrigated

First week down. Excited to see what this strain can do. Foliar feeding will start soon. Deep Bloom, Snow Storm Ultra, Alchemist Stout, and then RAW NPK Yucca will be the main spray with Kelp and Fulvic added for one feeding per week. I will dilute 1ml of Photosynthesis Plus once per week in the mixture because of the photosynthesis strain of bacteria. Other then that it’s just waiting for noticeable growth so I can begin their training. The BudBox should work nicely especially when it comes time for the stretch. The Spotless Mind fucking kicked my ass. Going to by extensions for the Shorty but it’s to late for this grow. The weight of the plants in their pot makes it to difficult to extract without damaging the plants. These Karmic Connections should fair he’ll of lot better. The BlackDog LED is hung at 38in to allow plants to acclimate and grow towards the light. Like I said the growth so far is on par. Won’t notice a real difference until flowering where we can see if these 5w chips penetrate the lower canopy. I enjoy the early stages because the Octopots only have to be filled once or twice a week. Grows are starting to get more routine, not sure what more I can do except not fuck up the ph hahaha I always let one slip 🤫

Not much to report. Their was some slight leaf curling so I bumped the light up more and hooked up the ventilation to get air flow going. Posted a video of the foliar feeding. Everything is half strength; Deep Breath, Snow Storm Ultra, and Alchemist Stout all 2.5ml. Yucca added at 1/16 tsp. Waited to foliar feed until now because I noticed the curling and realized I left it sealed off to long. Negative Pressure raised the humidity since there was no air flow. Other then that everything is good. Leafs are also a darker green then the Migro tent. But the Migro tent is a fucking beast, boosted the height up to the same as this BudBox because of the height. Karmic Connection will for sure be kept a lot shorter then Spotless Mind since the BlackDog will burn them if it gets to close.

Off to a good start. Foliage is thicker as well as stem diameter, at least comparatively to the Spotless Mind around this time at 120w. The foliage also appears to darker green. Plants respond well to the foliar feeding. Branches and leaves that were dragging to low were snipped. Hopefully, there is some stretch soon so that I can start bushing these girls out. Need to pick up some poles to push back against the negative pressure. Plants will be topped for sure this time, as learned my lesson with the Spotless Mind/4AM

4 weeks down and plants are starting to veg real nice. These girls were both topped and defoliated so we will see if that helps maintain a bushier plant. It also delays when I need to start lst training so that’s nice. Growth is a lot greener and thicker compared to the other tents. Next several weeks should be real enjoyable. No real problems this week. Ran out of my Tribus but got more coming so the weekly application is still on point. Temp and humidity are on point as well. Foliar feeding is going well girls sure love the mist. Love to watch them in the fog under the BlackDog LED. These girls will be sharing their day with Chemho by People Under the Stairs. Plants are developing a nice bush structure like I had hope. Low stress training and defoliation have been helping maintain. Foliage is still a nice green and stems feel a lot harder to bend compared to the Spotless Mind. Nutrient feed will be bumped again closer to the weekend. No problems yet but who knows if these girls decide to stretch haha.

Fucking beast ass autos. Really bushing out before the stretch. The Spotless Mind tent is running 80w less then this one and I got to say it’s hard to distinguish the differences. The main thing I’m noticing is thicker stem growth and tighter nodes in the Black Dog tent. Could be attributed to the strain variation but who knows. My HLG tent running 90w more then this has a lot more spacing between the nodes. I will say that the “full spectrum” led lights give a more desirable training template then the BlackDog. Foliage seems to rebound from exposure quicker which could attribute to why it’s so bushy. Pre flowers are showing so I believe we should start the stretch with a couple weeks. If these girls are like the Spotless Mind then we’re looking at 12 more weeks

Good week of growth. Counting it towards veg. The shear vigor of the left plant is impressive. True F1 hybrid at its best. Like I said last week, Night Owl has some genetics to fall in love with. Hope his Valentines Day Drop was sick. There’s just a swarm of autoflower breeders now. I will probably pop a couple more Night Owl seeds after this Karmic Connection then find another breeder to test out. There’s also just a wealth of genetics available now. It’s like Pokémon but for fucking weed. And honestly weeds probably more vast then fucking Pokémon could ever be. Have you guys seen the lineage of Ice Cream Cake?! Breeders have gotten insane. We got fucking strains that are pretty much the same but because of the pheno bred with it’s a fucking different strain. I mean there’s more to it then that for example picked up some Deadpanhead Polar Lights. It’s genetics are the aforementioned Ice Cream Cake crossed with a Northern Lights #1 x Northern Lights #5. Not sure however if that pure Northern Lights was further worked or left at an F1 for breeding with the Ice Cream Cake. Still some sick shit though. Just like damn man. Daz works with Ronin whom works with Magic Strains. So we got collab on collab reversing autos and proving the power of feminized breeding. There’s fucking Ethos genetics whose whole shit is practically back crosses. Snow High Gentics who have been collecting heirlooms and land races. Fucking spectacular man just fucking spectacular. Breeders are like assholes everyone’s got one bahaha. But not in a bad sense. I mean it’s overwhelming and it can become hard to know what’s legit and what’s not. I mean anyone can pollen chuck. Then there’s the pathos of growing that comes in the way. Organic vs Synthetic, fucking hydro vs super soil, and we get breeders who only breed regular seeds because reversing can genetically alter the plant? Haha I mean there’s probably more to it. But in the same vain as MMA I fucking say do everything. Organics with synthetics, hydro with soil...(ahem, sub-irrigation). Everyone’s right and everyone’s wrong might as well experience the broad spectrum and discern what works for ourselves. Except HPS, fuck HPS do yourself a favor invest in LEDs. The shear quality of LEDs now as opposed to HPS there’s just no excuse. If you have the sun then use that motherfucker...I dream of the day my girls can see the real dawn. Man oh man was this a heavy defoliation week. I got to say after the Spotless Mind harvest I realized how far behind with those I fell. A benefit of this tent is it zips all the way. I can actually get into the tent and manage the crop from all sides of the canopy. Very helpful especially with this Karmic girl on the left dominating the environment. I find myself training the right plant to go around her. She’s even taking longer to flip to flowering which in my eyes; shows determination and drive to not fall behind. Hahaha very fun to watch. The Spotless Mind harvest was a half-pound! 🤤I don’t expect anything less from the Karmic Connection. I will push that 80w extra of light! Like I said big learning lesson in how far I can really push the defoliation. The Spotless Mind could’ve been a lot more if I didn’t use a Gorilla Shorty, regardless I got what I got from it. The BudBox has an advantage, the BlackDog has an advantage, so my plants must have an advantage comparatively to the Migro tent. Still I find myself staring at my 3 year old HLG and wondering if it’s really fallen that far behind. Scrap the setup start anew? Switch out the light and invest in another Migro for the BudBox? There’s a lot of possibilities and I’m really enjoying the self-doubt this time around hahaha 😹

Good week. Defoliation is still top priority. The amount of fan leaves I’ve gotten rid of these last two weeks are insane. After the Spotless Mind grow I noticed just how much more I could’ve pushed the defoliation. There was just a lot of underdeveloped buds and leaf that never received enough light. I like to give every part of the plant a chance before chopping so my defoliation isn’t lollipopping just fan leaf removal. Exposing as much parts of the plants to light just seems to work for me. Anything that isn’t buggy enough I can just freeze and turn to hash with the trimming. In the end I end up with more usable plant material. Night Ow man, fucking Daz, these autos I’ve grown of his have just been stellar. Working on the Karmic girls there was a nice lemon earthy smell. The right plant is barely showing preflowers so perhaps I’m correct about the plants response to the tent dominance of its sister.

Wow, what a week. The runt has taken over the space. Environmental adaptability of these girls is phenomenal! The delay in flowering to compensate for the companion plants vigor has resulted in more stretched out growth. It seems autoflowers really strive to finish. The two Chemhoes experienced the same thing however being both photoperiods I noticed a different reaction. The Chemhoe with dominant vigor continued to dominate, the companion plant suffered and no matter how much Tim in veg remained small and scraggly. Now that the Chemhoe is topped there appears to be a slight increase in the runts vigor. With the autoflowers it appeared that once the Karmic Connection with the most vigor had established itself it began to flower. The runt in this scenario appeared to delay flowering for several more weeks. Now there is pronounced stretch that has allowed the plant to occupy space in obtainable to the other plant. This has been the case with most autoflowers I have ran. The plant that seems to be behind always takes the longest and puts on the fattest weight. 4AM and Spotless Mind both displayed the phenomenon. It’s like in elementary school when you put the plant in the box and only cut a hole on the side. We all know plants grow towards the light. But with autoflowers that automatically switch to flowering, how does this response change? There is only a set time til harvest right? Environmental stress seems to suggest that the plants awareness is able to offset this time in some capacity. Think stunted growth but this time it’s because it’s not optimal to flower. There’s a book I’ve been actually meaning to read, “ The Revolutionary Genius of Plants”. I feel like that might help to better understand the observations. There is a clear pattern I’m noticing and so far it’s been a rewarding phenomenon. The Karmic Connection that is still pliable will be bent, the defoliation will be maintained, and everything will keep on pace. All good in the dog house

Cleaned up the bottom of the girls. Did a fair amount of lst on the tall one. Good week. The Spotless Mind ran until week 18. It looks like the shorter Karmic will be done a bit before then maybe 3 more weeks, and the tall one could for sure go for another 7 weeks haha. Pre flowers are now adding size so will be a bit before they actually start to fatten. Both are greasy and got that frost. There is a more Skunky gas smell with these girls but from a rub of the branches a sweet citrus tone as well. Looking forward to next several weeks. Once these girls are done I’ll be tossing a RocBud auto in. I think I will run one plant and switch out this BlackDog light with my HLG. I will then probably either pick up the FatPharm led from the UK or go the ultra effiecient route and run ChilLeds 65w light. Octopot is also suppose to release a 3gallon sleeve so maybe I’ll check those out since I will potentially be using a smaller light. Filling out the gro sleeve hasn’t been a problem so it’s hard to really tell if that would be beneficial. The only problem is that switching out the lights might be tricky because the Chemhoe has to finish. They take about 9-11 weeks to flower so might just wait till the dog days of summer and then gear up for fall. Limitless possibilities.

Looks like the stout one will finish before 4/20. Very exciting, and the extra space just in time for the other to ripen couldn’t be better. Hopefully it pans out like that. Plant is massive and buds are pushing under the other plant. Really could’ve filled this tent with just on plant and I wouldn’t have to deal with the cramped space. Regardless, the plant adaptation is phenomenal and I can’t wait for the results in several weeks.

Slowly creeping towards the end. Will start flushing the stout girl and hopefully harvest in 10 days. Bud to leaf ratio could be better but the stout girls is fucking huge. Buds are fat on top will look better in harvest pictures. The tall girl is going to fucking love having the space to finish in. Can do her justice and let her breath. Got side branches falling out of the tent. Should be able to stake everything before the full ripen. After this grow I’ll be putting in a ChilLed 65w and pairing it with the HLG 30w UVA from my HLG tent. This will put the tents total watts for seed to harvest at 95w. The black dog will go into the 3x3 and I’ll be using it to run 4 plants as opposed to 2. Next strain in the white walled BudBox will be RocBuds Kongs Breath. Exhilarating!! 🤗

Harvesting the stout girl this weekend. She’s put on weight and is finishing flushing. The tall girl has got a sweet lemon smell. She’s starting to put weight on and needs a staking. Really need to get the other plant out though so she isn’t all clustered and can still hang out a bit. Very exciting to finish this grow.

Harvesting stout girl for sure this weekend. Letting her run for one more week really brought out some more colors. She’s eclipsed now by the tall one. Good shit. Rank with a sweet fruity smell. Works out anyways because the Samsquanch is taking up space in the drying tent. Love the Black Dog, think she will do better in a 3x3 working with 4 plants. Picked up the ChilLed 65w so excited to combine that with the 30w uva from HLG and run it in this BudBox next. Next auto is going to be RocBud’s Kong’s Breath. Picked it up after I saw a couple RocBud diaries on here. Fucking beautiful very much looking forward to it.

Oh man! The stout girl was airy as fuck! 😵 it’s good smoke but fuck haha! Once I pulled her out I saw this underdeveloped the buds were on half of the plant and on the lower nodes. This tall girl really just came in and fucked the stout ones shit up. Talk about a late bloomer bahahaha. 😆 the tall girl is the prize. Her buds are developing perfectly and are a lot denser. Was able to stake her and give her the support she needed. Will she be a heavy yield? Well, I should be starting the flush this Sunday so hopefully we can find out in a couple more weeks

Flushing almost done. Fucking 🔥. Karmic Connection is a interesting plant indeed. Did not think this one would take off and affect the other so much. Despite the airy buds the stout girl is a very heavy hitter as stated in her breeder description. With that said I cannot imagine what this girlie will be like. She got a real niiiiiice finish and I’m scared 😱 . I already save her sister for night time cause that shit is heavy. It’s good but fuck I get lost! 😶Like legit just got to put the kids to bed hit this shit and yeah I’m next bahahaha 😂 Will harvest after Mother’s Day next week so verrrrrrryy excited

Good grow. Stout girl ended up being a lackluster harvest but the tall one more then made up for it. Tall girl came in heavy with some beautiful nuggetry 🤤. Was a real pain to grow though. The girls really should’ve been given their own tent. The space was to cramped and the stout girl suffered. But the the smoke from her is goooood Very relaxing. I like to load her up in the Volcano at the end of the day when the kids go to bed. Really takes the edge off. By the end of the bowl I’m just fucking lost mentally. Good way to get ready for bed haha. The vapor has a floral earth taste with a hint of lemony citrus. Cannot wait to try the tall girls buds. She got a real nice finish can’t believe she surpassed the other one this much. Anyways will update with a full trip report after I try her buds. Tall girl came out with 171g. Very nice so turn around of 230g off two plants is nice but holy fuck this Karmic Connection was difficulty. Really one plant could’ve easily beat out the yield of two plants. Lessen the stress of environmental competition and these girls would’ve been huge yielded. Stout girl never filled out and tall girl had to little time to stretch out. I would also like to see them brought down a couple generations. Good storing needs more space hahaha
