WELCOME, 2021! Let's plant a tree! In an humble gesture of hope tonight I am planting a tree (3 trees!) Those Afghan kush ganja plants represents hope and faith for the future. Not to mentioned, tomorrow I have to chop my Malawi and it is giving me the blues.
Just got busy and could not update my journal before.
Good news! All 3 seeds are alive and thriving! I am keeping a close eye on them to make sure they have everything they need in this sensible stage.
Plants look happy but one of them might shows some TMV. Keeping a good eye on them and providing what they want need and some TLC. They were transplanted into 2 gal pot
It might be last week for Afghan kush World of Seeds.
Plants are showing light green patches that appears on leaf after they were green and healthy. 4 days ago only one plant had minor issues Now all 3 are affected. The most affected plant is the one from last week. First set of true leaf is almost bone dry. Witch rules out light burn because upper leaves are less affected.
Beside a few fungus gnats I cannot find any bugs, even with a jewellers lope.
They are in a different room now but I hope it did not spread to other plants.
I've tried to contact the breeder and did not get any response. Looks like seed born stuff.
Afghan Kush are alive and happy! Last week I was very close to trash hem all but look at them!!! What a come back! Plant 1 is very vigorous and the largest by far, plant 2 is similar to the 3rd smallest one. All of them got topped.
Afghan kush have a lot of vigour and shows strong branching out. Plant 1 is massive, 2 and 3 are very similar. Smell is getting interesting with tones of kush coming out when rubbing stems. Very happy with these.
Afghan kush are thriving with happiness. Very vigorous strain: thick stems, big fan leaves, strong branching out and smell is coming along nicely as well! The room where my grow closet is just smells skunky.
Plant 1 and 2 are probably same phenotype while 3rd one looks a little different in leaf shape and structure.
I am repoting these this week end and will flip soon after.
Nice vigour, nice colour, nice smell. This crop is on dial. Plants are happy ...missing a touch of K but this week I am adding some potassium sulphate to the water at 200ppm. Also last plant was moved into a 15 gal container using fresh new soil: will be nice to see the difference between her and 2 other sisters as they are in recycled soil. All will receive some Gaia Green power bloom as a top dress and light will be changed to 12-12 in this week.
All 3 plants are happy and healthy. 😍😃 As they enter 2nd week from flip so far stretch was very limited and growth was overall slower than previous weeks.
Necessary changes were done with Afghan Kush but resulting in improvements for them. Plant 2 was put in an other setup. She was chosen as she is more compact and columnar than her sis. Even if she stands under a scrog I will let her poke it right thru and hope she grows vertically. Might have to do aggressive pruning removing lower stuff in next days I need to decide. Also had to swap her light schedule so she had an extra 12hrs of sleep. So far so good!! Under that setup she will have more light than before. 😎
Plant 1 and 3 are in an other tent with my 2 OG kush. They had their final hair cut today !! Light schedule is the opposite as the other tent 12-12, under a 600w hortilux hps. They have enough space and should keep thriving👍😙!!!
THEY ARE IN BLOOM😍😍😜+😘 OH MAMA and it is smelling wonderful here. >Even better than my OG kush 😜
Plant 1 is so far the most promising pheno: Nice branching out but after flip so far nodes are tight and those shoots stays columnar. Should end with a few donkey dick size colas and no larf. She was the first to shows flower signs at 9 days from flip. She might grow a few more inches.
Plant 2 in separate tent is similar to plant 1 but without it's vigour. She staid small and columnar. I think her stretch is almost done but she might goes in a compete mode with my Malawi who is just starting to stretch. Lets keep qa close eye on her shall we?
Plant 3 was the last to show flower signs and I am pushing it to call it 1st day of flower. This pheno is different in structure and leaf shape with a touch of cinnamon in smell.
Plant 2, side by side with my Malawi, got some leaves fried. Most probably caused by light stress. I've started to notice some brown tips at last update. Still unsure about it.. Do you have any idea? Please let me know!!! Medium is organic living soil just tested it with a slurry: 550ppm at 6.65ph. Those number seems pretty spot on. And all other plant in same batch of soil are thriving but under different light. Also she is under 11-13 instead of 12-12... Well I've backed off the lights and damages seems to have stop. She will make it. I Love her smell!!!!
Plant 1 is very similar to 2nd one in term of structure, smell, flowering rate but pumped with steroid. Smell is pine, chocolate, coffee and overall classic gazzy kushy, She have potential for some nice tops! Tallest of all 3.
Plant 3 is different is smell, leaf shape, structure and flowering rate. She is just a little behind but have the most potential for chunky colas. Tight nods, not branching out but limited stretch.
I Love this tent with 4 different size plants in flower. The smell is amazing!!
We can see they have grown bigger this week as they are entering week 5 from flip. Plant 1 will be beautiful in a few weeks with gorgeous colas. The smell is lemony and skunky but nothing compared to Plant 2. As I take time to update my other tent with plant 2 is at night so no pics, Her smell is just what I have been looking for! She will be reveg.
Plant 3 have a dense bushy shape she could use a little defo. Not sure if I like the smell so far a touch of lemon and cinnamon.
Afghan kush still grew bigger this week. Plant 1 and 3 have grown a few inches high and wide. Is it because of the HPS? well they sure are getting beastie so no complains. All 3 have different structures and buds looks different. Only the smell is getting even: sweet, lemony and herbal. Not what I expected but I know it is still early.
Plant 1 is the tallest at about 3.5 foot. She's a massive one composed of about eight 10 in. donkey dick (future) colas.
Plant 2 is the smallest and is more light sensitive. I've noticed a few brown pistils this is very early but some strains will keep on flowering while ripening at the same time.
Plant 3 is more round and wider. She is very bushy and pushes out a few nice short colas.
So far these plants are handling nicely extra heat. They keep pushing amber pistils ans start to fatten up a bit. Smell is settling: lemony, sweet and nutty. Nothing to call your mom for.
These Afghan Kush are on their finish line. Plant 3 is a little behind but plant 2 might get chopped next week. Resin production is excellent on all of them but flower are not as dense has expected. Maybe they'll swell up more.
Plant 1 is finishing slowly. She is having a complete yellowing of all fan leaves, very beautiful to see! She has long donkey dick, not to massive but elongated colas of resin dripping flower with not much sugar leaves. About 10 days left. Complexe aroma with undertones of pine, kush and grape.
Plant 2 is getting ready she could be chopped any day between now and next week. Small buds, lots of leaves. Nice sweet smell and a lot of resin.
Plant 3 is the Sativa phenotype. According to Seedfinder this is a known pheno. She is very compact but with thin blade leaves and with branches covered with flower like a typical landrace. Sh is far from finish line. Sweet and woody smell.
I was looking forward to grow Afghan kush WoS since a few years. Simple, honest genetic is always a winner for me. I was also told by a friend that the classic kush taste comes from these kind of background (Afghan kush, Hindu kush, those landrace strains...)
Let's cut corners a bit: smell and taste are a deception as this cannabis is mostly blend! All the pine and pungent smells from pheno 1 turned into vanilla undertones, pheno 2 smells like a baked cake, and 3 is very light woody and hearty.
Effects are enjoyable: mellow Indica, suitable for day time, old school feeling. Good for relaxation, watching a movie, sit outside after work. It's something less crazy high in THC.
Afghan kush grew with nice vigour but they are a bit light sensible. These seeds were cheap. I had to contact to contact World of Seeds for a question and they never replied.
Plant 1 and 2 were harvested. Plant 1 finished beautifully with complete yellowing of fan leaves and sparkling of trichomes. She kept stretching all the way till the end ended up being the tallest in the tent. Nice rewarding long colas and not to leafy. Buds are airy and when rubbed the stems have a strong pine and body odour smell. It is sort of deep and addictive. Plant 2 finished very small with a very limited root system. Buds were very leafy and resin production was better than plant 1. She looks stronger.
Plant 3 took forever to finish as she kept re-flowering. Her branches ended up covered with sugar leaves colas. Trimming was a pain and a lot of leafy matter were removed. Result is elongated old school landrace style flowers that leaves a dry, powdery like touch after drying. She would be a great hashish producer.
