Week 3 of vegetation: growing, noding, branching out, LST and more growing (ever so slowly).
So far my adventure is slowly continuing, and I can’t resist looking at my plant every hour or often.
Since my set-up if very manual and simple, the constant checking up is sometimes actually required.
- because of very cold weather the temps dropped much lower than usual at dark cycle during the day (16-18 C) and even with the lights on in the middle of the night it affected the temperature negatively (only 22 degrees C or even lower).
So I added a warm water jug/bottle to the tent (the blue thermos seen in day 15).
- also, my plant has finally started to emit a faint noticeable light smell around day 15 and continues getting stronger. Very green smell at first, but getting more distinct already with no flowering in sight, great :)
Day 15: 7 cm.
Day 16: 8,5 cm and LST
- upped the watering amount to 200ml on day 16, still not reaching bottom of pot. Next watering after that was on day 18.
- LST on day 16
I’m glad it’s only one plant because I sure took my time doing my first ever LST (30-60mins, but with preparing and reading/watching in to the subject).
It was quite challenging since the plant is so short and thick-stemmed, but it did have 3-4 internodes and already leaves and shoots or however you call that armpit growth every where. So much was already covered in shade I figured to just LST carefully and see what happens.
Day 17/18: 9 to 10 cm, adjusted some LST wires and 200ml at day 18.
- light height
Since the plant slowly grew, the distance of the LED to the plant got to be 27 ish cm. Could the short distance maybe stunt the growth? I raised the light to 32 cm on day 18. See day 18 photos with comments.
Now halfway at week 3, I’ll update this when the week is over in 3 days.
Edit: 3 days later and it grew more and more bushy. On day 21 the smallest sing of flowering was visible.
Don't worry they will fatten up it looks like they just need another couple weeks. Your feeding schedule is also super light compared to what biobizz recommends. They look good mate!
@indigold,
Thanks!
And yeah, my feeding schedule is super light, 1/2 or less of their recommendation. But then again, I've watered more often though in the first 4 weeks (almost daily) than the Biobizz schedule mentions (2-3x/week).
Can't remember when (somewhere in week 4-5), but the runoff was 1400 PPM, which I guess was almost 2 times higher than it should be.
And my plant is a dwarf - 39 cm / 1'3", doesn't that justify a lighter feeding?
