Added first nutrients @ 1 gal. / 1 tsp floranova grow
Plant seem to not really be growing well in just the wonder soil. but as soon as the nutrients were added, surprising results kicked in! second dose after third day. 1/4 of a gal at a time.
Probably should’ve use springwater ( high ph) going to dilute it with distilled water so I do not lose my nutrients that I poured into the gallon jug.
The 1200 w led is new to growth of plant. The plant is installed in a old phototron grow house which still has its original CFL 40 W bulbs in it ( which I have replaced and put new ones) 3 total
Also bought 3, 24 inch strip lighting LEDs (36W) and install those inside where there were not CFL’s
Currently running using the veg mode and using the blue colors on the LEDs as well as the CFL‘s are on.
Any recommendations at this point would be much appreciate it! As I know at some point I may have to remove it from the phototron and expand its grow house but just trying to work things out before I buy more expensive seeds and develop issues that I do not want
I decided to switch out the jug completely and start where I left off using distilled water instead of spring water not sure if it made a difference but definitely avoided an issue as the plant seems like it’s thriving
Few of the pictures are early in the week, last few pictures are as of today! which I think has grown at least an inch in about three days from the last photos.
But now that the she’s is getting larger, temperature is starting to rise as well as the humidity using my swamp cooler to keep it cool to keep my humidity keeps getting little bit high 60% but will have to definitely switch to a fan and figure out how to keep this thing cool, the culprit may be the CFL bulbs and I may have to aluminate those.
I’m still running in veg mode on my larger LED ( blue spectrum) but I’m using all the lights on the smaller LEDs. I believe this week I will be switching to both Veg & Bloom for the next 2 to 3 weeks to see the reaction if it auto
flowers. Or just thrives more with the added light.
Now it’s time to consider topping or bending (LSD) not really sure what to do as of yet, hoping that the plant grows one more segment and I believe I’ll top it. Want to make sure I have enough new tops coming up that are worth at least an ounce or two
3 days later..
Tried to bend (LST) plant but I think it’s a little early and does not have enough growth on the collas
So I did a little defoliating maybe six leaves looks a lot better now I can see the growth on each and determine when it’s ready to start bending most likely next week in three days it is now 7 inches tall
Last two pictures
LST has been set up little small so I only bound the base and pulled the top I’ll wait for the plant to decide what it’s going to do and for some more collas to come to the top
So we’ve entered week four and it is completely bent (LST) and growing at least 12 new collas.
Watering has increased to a half a gallon every other day and I finished off my 2nd gallon of nutrient water. 3rd gallon, Increased grow nutrients to 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon @ 1/3 gal every 48 hrs. Each day looking for branches to bend back, to make room for other little friends. Pinching off big leaves and grooming down below that will never make it to the top. I have noticed that my humidity level raises really high in the morning after the lights of been out for six hours thinking I need to run the fan to keep that fresh air coming in
Getting close to wrapping up the week and starting week five. increase my nutrients to 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon and watering every other day, seems to be sucking it up pretty fast as my water meter says within 24 hours it starts getting thirsty but I stay with the regiment 72 hrs 1/3 of a gallon.
Defoliating leafs as they clog up the trunk and branches. I don’t think I should clip them all at once, start to look like a hedge instead of individual tops
Entering new week, continuing to pull down & manicure.
Turn off the cfl 44 w 3 of them, want to see the effect of blur-ple only. But it really seems like it’s starting to get crowded somethings got to change, because I can’t lift the light any higher so we’re gonna have to take the top off and abandon the photo Tron and start a new growing it possibly in it. Most likely going to have to order a tent from Amazon.
Mixing my next gallon of water added 2 tablespoons of the grow and 1 tablespoon of the bloom,
Moved out of the photo Tron and built a brand new grow room not bad for 30 bucks!
I’ll be posting pics shortly
New grow tent-ish.. The sides are lined with an insulated foam that I picked up from Home Depot the frame is basically a portable closet for hanging your clothes remove the canopy that comes with it and basically use Velcro on the panels to each side & created a lot more room, ready for at least 2 more plants😄
Starting a new week making up a new batch of nutrients not really changing the formula yet, as it just seems to keep growing. showing small signs of flowering but nothing that I would put a nail on yet we’ll see by weeks end if there are some hair is starting to show and then I’ll change the formula to More Bloom and less grow on the nutrients. not sure when to turn off the blue light (veg mode) and just running red ( bloom) but I guess the plant will tell me that as well😄3/3
Used up about a half a gallon of that last batch of nutrients and decided I need to change it up! Drop the grow nutrients and keeping on with the bloom 1 tbs. and now have added Calmag 1/2 tbs. ppm levels changed, Maybe those last batches were a little strong should pay attention to the milliliters instead of teaspoons. Also I’ve been alternating just water and rinsing it through about a half a gallon on the opposite days of nutrients. But this is Coco Clor and no matter how much water I pour in it it will not drain through, also in a fabric pot so it can breathe through the sides. I have poked holes in the bottom but water has never come out I would have to pour probably three or 4 gallons through it. not sure about the runoff, just making sure I’m paying attention to the weight and how much it is shrinking and needing more moisture. Aside from that it seems to be thriving and showing signs that it wants to flower. I’m doing everything possible to move it in that direction, I have turned off the blue light (veg) and I am shortening my schedule to only 15 hours & next week we will be down to 12 and 12.😎 3/6
Any comments are much appreciated
So this week a lot of growth. keep trying to pick lower leaves & clusters to get stock as clean as possible using pipe cleaners to pull down long branches as they reach the light just to try to keep everything balanced should probably be incorporating a net at this point but just going for it. Really starting to realize that this is going to be big plant and the tent that I have made for it is not quite big enough expanding it during the day and then closing it up at night sometimes I have concerns I am not running the fan at night that it may suffocate but there are enough spaces between the form boards that it still breaths and my gauges say that the plan is happy when I wake up in the morning for its 12 hours of darkness which I’m running 7 AM to 7 PM with light
Also been experimenting with clones! cut off a few lower stocks & seems like I’ve got two of them out of the four that I’ve cut, really wasn’t sure if I was doing things correctly? once again just going for it! it’s been over 12 days and I have removed them into the same room on the floor and turned on my strip LEDs which I believe are 33 W each to try to keep them moving along.
Been going back-and-forth with nutrients and flushing it through as there’s not much runoff with this much Coco clore. I am increasing my nutrients to 2 tablespoons on my bloom and 1 tablespoon of Cal mag
Heard some good tips about adding molasses to the nutrients during flowering phase as I guess this creates food for the microbes which creates CO2 for the plant.
a little home for my two clones that made it! got them pretty much isolated with the blue light looks pretty cool.
Just can’t seem to stop it from growing have to make a big decision about the light and move it up higher but the budding is definitely starting and I want to make sure I get maximum yield so I have incorporated some Kool bloom.
Did some research on the stuff and I hear it’s very potent so I’m starting with small doses until I see that it’s not burning or harming it may increase dosage to 1 teaspoon/ gal. but not really sure just yet.
I am basically up to a gallon every three days of nutrients, I’ll do that two times and then flush it through with another gallon with no nutrients. I probably get about 5% runoff/waste.
Pretty much in full on bud mode & my two clones that survived are taking off and I put them in the photo Tron got to start germination with my other purchases so I can get the next batch rolling and start a new diary.
Purple Hulk & Purple Cush (fem/ auto)
As for my light I have moved it completely on the outside and installed it through the roof damn plant keeps growing getting close to the light again even though I created at least 12 inches higher when I moved it and almost overnight it crept back up again.
Added my other light for my clones as well as have new seeds that are now germinating and have sprouted as you can see over time things have grown photo Tron was way too small temporary home, Ended up being too small and now with a 4 x 4 x 80 tent seems to be doing the trick got my bloom light working on my tops, And my new light working my clones and new girls two of them are purple hulk and two are purple Kush
But seem to be doing great getting a little stimulation from the other light with the other clones and seedlings but just waiting for the color to change as these are really clumpy and white hairs.
Buds are producing nicely taking its sweet time thinking of increasing nutrients but trying to stay on the safe side and continuing to flush it through with doses of kool bloom and water only with a pH @ 6 switching back and forth on nutrients and kool bloom only, watering need 1 gal every other day to get 5% run of to waste
Clones are phosphorus deficient as it wants to bud. Gave it a big dose of cool bloom and we’ll see what it does in the next two days.
Separated watering cycle kool bloom 1 gallon by itself. two days later adding nutrients & Cal Mag to another gallon of water checking the pH from the waste as well as PPM.
Really happy with the grow so far. seems to be slowly growing denser, buds are fattening up on the top! while there are small buds all over the lower areas. my main tops have really filled in nicely I’ve continue to flush and add Kool bloom, really seems to be responding to that! keeping my ppm levels low on my waste water
This will be the last week. I will harvest next weekend. As the buds are looking really large and dense & the leaves are starting to curl.
Running pH balanced water with 1 tablespoon of Kool bloom alternating back-and-forth without and only hydrating soil for 10 % waste.
I also hear just before harvesting you’re supposed to leave it in the dark for 24 hours to make it increase sugar levels to produce more THC not really sure if that’s true!
Love advice on harvest techniques, drying, wet trimming vs dry trimming, proper curing in jars.
