Got these seeds as freebies.
I've got Og13 starting in gro-dirt living soil and Blue Cindy in osmocote seedling mix. My reason for this is that my last grow in living soil seemed to struggle early on from nitrogen toxicity. I know they're different strains but I'm interested to see if there's a noticeable difference.
In saying that I've accidentally let Blue Cindy dry out a bit so I may have already negatively effected her growth. We will see.
They're off to an even worse start as my partner knocked both pots over.. Regardless they both popped 3 days after planting.
OG13 is happy as. Topped and LST.
Blue Cindy is getting more perky. LST.
Had an ant problem so used diatemaceous earth and cinnamon powder. Worked perfectly. All pests gone in 2 days.
I did some Kyle Kushner style HST where you suddenly but gently twist the branches until you hear a slight crack or pop. This way you avoid open wounds on the plant but create stronger branches internally. However I think watering directly afterwards caused some swelling and splitting. Only on Blue Cindy though. OG13 took it like a champ. Could pretty much leave her to her own devices.
Both turning out to be easy plants so far. Hopefully the trend continues.
I plan on top dressing with worm castings and more living soil next week and slowly winding back the light by half hour to an hour a day. I also left some leaves in the pot after I defoliated them for future composting properties as I reuse soil after it's been amended.
I top dressed with worm castings and fresh living soil. I also put them in the rain for a very good soak after I sprinkled diatemaceous earth and a tiny bit more cinnamon. Not sure if I should be worried about the slight browning on Blue Cindy's wounds?
I've also been slowly making their days shorter. By the end of this week I'll have them in 12/12. We'll see how they go flowering. I'm hoping the soil has enough food. I'm thinking next time I might compost some banana peel in with living soil for a while, and then top dress with that. We'll see how things go!
They're flowering! And looking pretty healthy I think. I top dressed the soil with neem cake, kelp meal, palagonite, langbeinite and soft rock phosphate. I also added an alfalfa meal layer roughly 3cm thick. Watered that in with Organic Gardening Solutions All-In-One Water supplement. Only did very low amounts to avoid potential nute burn, even though they should release nice and slow.
I will be doing a kelp meal, molasses and worm castings compost tea next week.
Tent is obviously a tight fit and the girls are growing every day. Keeping the light at 30-33cm to stop them stretching. They don't seem too troubled by the low light at all. SF1000 recommendations for flower are 12-18 inches. I need to defoliate more I think but I'm a bit nervous! They seem hapy so I'm torn between leaving them be or allowing more light to hit lower developing sights. We'll see!
Once again they're happy ladies. I added a tsp on Back Country Blend Boost to both pots 8/4. I'm curently brewing an aerated compost tea of kelp meal, molasses and worm casings from my worm bin.
Wondering if I should put a net up to more evenly distribute the light?
