1. This is the final plant to fill out my winter photo grow. I've never grown any strains from DNA Genetics. This should be fun.
2. I germinated in a moist paper towel placed on top of our cable box. I found that the warmth really, really helps your germination rate.
3. This seedling was ready for soil within 2 days. She popped up 2 days later. I started the seedling out with a dome to keep her warm and humid. I'll take the dome off once the 2nd set of leaves appear, or she grows too tall for the plastic cup.
4. I am watering by misting her daily with a 25% solution of Remo's Grow Nutes. I've starting my photos off this way for a few growing cycles and the seedlings really seem to respond.
5. I'll let her grow in her starter container for about 2 weeks total then I'll transfer her to a 5g pot.
1. This little girl is just cruising along. She has a few deformed leaves, but no worries.
2. I took the domes off when the second node was pretty much formed.
3. I've watered once with 400ml of 25% Remo Veg. Nutes solution. I've also been foliar feeding daily with the same solution.
4. She'll probably stay in the starter pot for another week or so, then I'll transfer her to the final 5g smart sack.
1. This strain is easily the fastest growing of the 4 that I planted. She is taller than all the other strains. She is also showing the most developed secondary growth.
2. She was transplanted a little over a week ago. I have pictures of the day of transplanting and today's photos show the growth.
3. She spent 2 weeks in her starter pot. The roots were nicely developed when I transplanted into a 7g square canvas pot.
4. I'll be transferring this plant and three other strains into my other photo tent once it is harvested. Right now they have to share the space with some autos and another batch of sprouts.
1. This girl is a beast! She is the tallest of the tent and her fan leaves were larger than my hand. If I'm not careful she will take over my tent.
2. I moved CK to her final tent. She now has a 540w QB w/red diodes. She is obviously liking life.
3. I topped at the 5th node and removed the 1st node.
4. I'm allowing the lower nodes to grow vertically through the middle of the plant on the other strains, but this strain is growing so fast, I've had to train the branches horizontally as well. This is going to be a big plant...or a male.
5. I've already started to prune some of the secondary node growth to create a lollipopped canopy.
1. CK is the boss of the tent. GSC is catching up, but I'm really training CK because I have a feeling she is going to shoot up as soon as I flip the tent to flower.
2. After these photographs I completely defoliated and pruned the plant in preparation for flowering. I won't do any more pruning until after she starts showing flowers.
3. My plan, after defoliation, is to let her grow so that the bud sites have 3 more nodes, then I flip the tent. The way she is growing I'll probably flip the tent to 12-12 this weekend.
4. I started using these LST clips on the top nodes of my plants. They are handy little gizmos.
1. I packed a lot of cannabis work into one week!
2. Last week I did 2 major defoliations and prunings. I cleaned out the under canopy and all the popcorn branches. I also defoliated some of the HUGE fan leaves that were covering whole sections of my bud stalks. I had to do that twice!
3. Saturday I fed one last time using veg. nutes then put the tent on a 24hr dark period prior to starting a 12/12 time schedule. CK has been on 12/12 since Sunday.
4. I've had to lightly defoliate once already. I've also switched to Remo's bloom nutrient schedule.
5. I'm already seeing stipules forming and there is a slight discoloration at the top of the bud stalks.
1. She's looking great! Buds started to form a few days ago.
2. I'll wait until my next fertigation before defoliating and pruning the under canopy. I'd like to let the buds truely form before pruning the popcorn away.
3. This girl is also really, really leafy, so I'll need to defoliate over a few days.
5. After that it's just tending to the few stray fan leaves and wait for harvest.
1. Life is good and my plants are healthy!
2. Basically on cruise control for a few weeks. I fertigate every 4th day. I trim fan leaves when necessary. Otherwise, I just leave her alone to do her thing.
1. Slow and steady!
2. Buds are starting to mature. I've noticed a change in color and texture of the buds. Trichomes are really starting to glisten.
3. She has a nice, clean schedule for fertigation...every 4th day, in the morning.
4. I'll continue feeding for another week or so then taper off for another feeding or two then it'll be straight filtered water at the end of her flowering cycle. She hits the 10 week mark in 4 weeks.
1. CK is about ready for the chop! Pistils are plastered against the buds, there are a smattering of orange trichomes, and the buds just look more mature and ready.
2. I stopped using nutes about 3-4 waterings ago. I'll water 2 more times then let her dry out for harvest.
This was a very vigorous plant throughout its life. She was a strong grower in veg and flower. She had some issues with light intensity in flower, but I dialed back the lights and she was happy after that. Unfortunately one of the plants in the tent hermed and CK was heavily seeded by harvest. I definitely will grow this strain again. I think if she wasn't accidentally pollinated the yield would have been significantly higher.
