Since the 4th clone in my grow didn't succeed I had an empty pot to fill up. Decided to plant an auto flower in there, not expecting her to yield a lot as she will be growing on 12/12 from week 1 or so because the other girls in the tent will go into flower.
I bought these Hulkberry seeds which I am looking forward to try out, the RQS Bubble Kush I grew in my first grow was amazing. Hoping this one will do really well too and catch up :D So put a seed in water to plant but just as I was going to put in the hole, I dropped the seed in the hay :( No way I am going to find it. So started with another seed. Put in a glass of water (with some aloe vera powder), waited until it sank to the bottom of the glass than planted in the soil after sprinkling ith some mycorhyizal. 3 days later she came out.
The soil in the pot is new and will be used for the first time in what I am hoping will be living soil used for multiple grows.
Here is how I prepared the soil for 4 pots:
120L old used biobizz light mix that I had
40L coco coir
40L worm castings
40L plumice
To which I added:
200mg/litre Ecothrive life-cycle as that seemed to contain most of the amendments I would have needed to mix myself.
50mg/litre fish, bone and blood meal
100mg/litre epsom salts
Mixed the lot up, potted and let it rest for a week, I then sprinkled with some cover crop seeds and mulch.
Some of the cover crop came through and I decided to add some worms to the pots, so I bought some tiger worms and put them in too. each pot has about 200ml of tiger worms.
Planning to give big watering once or twice a week with Aloe Vera powder and Malt Barley Powder mixed in and a weekly foliar with aloe vera and neem oil.
Thanks for reading.
14 days from seed and there isn't much to show here.
I found the girl fallen over and some of her roots showing, I think the fan was too strong and pointing at her. So i straightened her out and pushed the soil around her a bit. Next day she was leaning again, as if she really wanted to grow sideways, looks like my couple of attempts to straighten her stunted her. Hopefully she'll pick up pace next week.
Watering very lightly.
She is showing some good progress. Those fan leaves are getting bigger and will need some training soon.
Watering the pot about 4L a week making sure soil doesn't get too dry around the plant.
She is growing really well, the lower branches are getting longer. This pony tailing technique works, I don't think I've seen lower branches get so long so quick. Was meant to pony tail for a few hours a day but forgot her for a whole day once, she was ok, leaves looked bent but recovered fine.
Week started well, saw the first pistils and she is getting bushier.
I made some aerated compost tea and mixed with water and some malt barley powder and aloe vera powder and watered the pot 4 litres.
Mid week I decided to remove couple of the big leaves and train her, used a super cropper I got from a friend which worked really well the first time but then I decided to change the angle of the bend and snap, it brook off like literally completley snapped and holding on a by a thread of skin :( Gave her some support and tied with duct tape.
I installed some root drippers (blue in 1 of the pictures) in the tent, this pot is missing 2 root drippers (I put 5 per pot) so it has 2 normal drippers for now.
End of the week she looked well, looks like she is going to heal and I didn't loose the main cola.
She is a happy plant, getting over the injury quite well. Buds don't have many too pistils on them, I am assuming that is because of the 12/12 light schedule this autoflower is under.
Nothing but healthy growth. Ain't got much to say and have little time since I am updating 3 weeks for multiple grows :D
stil impressed by the growth of this girl considering she is an autoflower growing under 12/12 light there are some nice buds.
Growing nicely. Really good size for an auto growing under 12/12, shows you, I didn't really need to be running previous grow under 24. Not sure I will have another auto grow, but doubt I'll be doing another 24/0 grow
Does the tricomes even change to amber with this strain..? Mine looks like it very very ready but the tricomes dont seem to change color.. Been waiting for about 2 weeks..
Week 13 has just started...
