Still in paper towel will plant once they sprout. Updates will come along steadily soon. Particularly excited to try this strain and see how she develops and the branches...keen to try the flower too and see how she squishes 5/6 sprouted within 48hrs, put into jiffy pods and in a humidity tent.

All 6 seeds popped by the end of the week. The last one did take about 5 days longer but great germination rate. Tallest is about 3" in height and the shortest has yet to break ground but she was only dropped in a couple days ago now. Still waiting for her to break ground tho

Just plugging along, these gals are certainly freaky looking. Just straight dechlorinated water. Not alot to report this week, gaia greens make life pretty easy going

So far it's been a cruise. Gaia green amendments so not much to do but sit back and water. All 4 are plugging along well. One resembles a marijuana leaves, though the other three appear super freaky and barely recognizable.

Just plugging a long a little slower going than I'd accustomed to but she's coming along well enough. I'm guessing the leaf structure is the reason for slightly slower growth. Not to say she is slow. The more she grows the less she resembles a marijuana plant I'm finding. Another easy week thanks to gaia greens soil ammendments

Fungus gnats were getting a bit much and a bit of a concern of some other pests so went with spraying down the ladies with some soap. Gonna repeat another time to keep them away until I can get some nematodes in. Other than that it's another easy week. Transplanting next week. As the nutrs should be getting there and a transplanting will help their vigor. They're all pretty uniform. Ones is a little shorter buy all very similar

Minor defoliation, delayed on transplanting due to busy weeks. Plugging along well and recovered from a but of a nitrogen deficiency. They're hungry girls

Well finally got around to transplanting. Looking forward to being done moving. Sexed them and initially I though it was 3/4 m/f but upon closer inspection I've changed my thoughts to a 50/50 split. The hairs are very fine on her. Bumped them up to 2 gallon pots with amended soil. Made it fairly rich as they seemed to have some nutrient desires thruout the veg and hoping the richer soil may give them the energy boost(just the ladies. Will let them go for a week and take some cutting then off to flower to see how they turn out. Definitely slower growing than my typical plants. I'm throwing in 2 of my other personal strains into the tent to add contrast. They're also a 3 weeks younger.

Not much to report, they're adapting to their new pots well. Anticipating flipping them in another week maybe 2 just to let my other ladies stretch out a bit more and catch up. 2 additions are a bruce banner 3, and a custom strain (pbbxmac)xsuper lemon haze, looking very promising but still want to refine her for a few more generations, but this journal isn't about her so they are just for reference of rate of growth

Well the flip happens today. So next week into flower. The new pots and amended soil seem to be helping them pick up in pace. Perhaps I errored in the set up of the soil last time and mixed lean. Not too sure why they lagged so slow for a month. At anyrate busy week. Did some training defoliation, installed an automatic watering system and swapped our lighting schedule to 12/12, gave a boost of nutes via sea kelp top dressing and now we wait. Likely will throw a grid over them to help them fill out the little tent fully. I did plan to run the freakshows naturally initially but they seem extremely predictable and I'd prefer to balance out the canopy. They responded extremely well to training

Just another week, they seem to have picked up pretty aggressively with the first week of flower, still getting caught up to by the 2 other ladies or a more normal leaf pattern but atleast they are picking up the pace. Hopefully they maintain this for the rest of the flower

Defoliated pretty aggressively a little early but she boomed out alot of canopy and need some extra room. Broke a branch off the larger lady unfortunately but I'm not too concerned as she will easily fill in the space. Buds are forming an impressive amount of hairs out of the gate. Still holding true to her name

Still running on the gaia greens, added some molasses to help feed things this week. Not alot of work to do in here tho they're bushing out pretty hard and I'm questioning if I should've gone even a little harder on defoliation, which I thought was bordering on excessive for this strain. Great performer in how fast she flips to flower and even quicker than a bruce banner 3 fast I have along side them. Lots of early frosting already which is promising

Pics are really not doing her justice. The fan leaves are actually caked with trichromes so I'm currently pretty stoked and am impatiently waiting for weeks 8 or 9 now and looking at possibly revegging her after as its summer here I can just leave her outside to recover until I want to run her again(assuming she keeps up like this for the next month I'm pretty sure she will be a keeper). Distinctly a unique nose to her, can't quite put my finger on what it is.

Still just rocking the gaia greens, reamended the soil last week so it should all time out well. They've definitely lost some gusto since the initial flip so hopefully they more fuel will help them kick it up a gear. Still a surprising amount of frosting on the fan leaves at the top.

Another easy week. Not alot to say. Starting to fatten up. Pulled my brucebabner from the tent. She just finished and had been put into the dark for her last couple days(awesome citrus nose to her, highly recommend it). Guessing another 3 weeks for the freak shows. Ammendments should be running out pretty quick

Just running PhD water and letting her do her thing. Still very frosty, and gaining mass. All in all happy with her tho far from my best yielded tho she was primarily left to her own devices so next run we will be doing a lot of training

Still just PhD water and letting her ride it out. Guessing I'll be chopping in the coming coming week. Some amber turning up. Pretty much falls right in line with the breeders suggested time of 9 weeks from flip. Buds have gotten pretty decent in size and causing her to sag hard. Wish I'd done more training now and scrogged her but next time. Pretty confident I'll be growing her again if only for the nose of her. Looking forward to finally getting to try her

The taste and smell on these buds was amazing. Completely unique and the smoke was like getting hit by a freight train. Not the biggest yield but I did virtually no training with her. I'll be running them again for certain but training them properly

Fantastic plant over all. Truly enjoyed her. While not the heaviest yielding the smoke was phenomenal and definitely earned a place in my tents going forward, next time a lot more training though

@rarecraftcannabis, yea these gals are super freaky. Looking pretty stable as 3/4 are looking pretty uniform. Sorta neat having some different leaf structures in the tent. Looking forward to seeing how she turns out and seeing how yours come along when you you get them in the ground

@SmokanaganSeeds, thanks for the advice! I read they were slow growers in veg. I got my Freakshow from 7eastgenetics.com. If I come across supafreak I'll make sure to get back to you.

SmokanaganSeedscommented4 years ago
@rumplestilzken, nice, I'd plan for them to have a slightly long grow time than you'd be used to for veg. They're slow growers from seed but certainly have some pep in flower once established. Pretty cool looking buds so far. Who'd you get them from? I'm looking at trying to get some of the supafreak if I can. Insane flower time

@SmokanaganSeeds, Thanks for taking the time to explain that, even more, excited about following this rum, "Peanut Nutter Lemon Cookie" that sounds interesting!
SmokanaganSeeds
SmokanaganSeedscommented4 years ago
@MrJones, it's just the strain, freakshow. Essentially an ancient mutation. Most plants came from ferns so just a hiccup that was bred for. Just wanted to check them out first hand. I'm sort of over producing only for myself so I get the luxury to try new strains without worry of burning through my reserves. Tho these have been slow so I'm just looking at the next strain(s) to run. I've a but of a stock pile for options but thinking I'll continue my hunt on a custom strain of "peanut butter lemon cookies" I'm working on instead of bringing this in full time...but we will see how it tastes and squishes soon enough
