2/18/21 -- I was given this Altar Bread clone by a guy I met in the local hydro store back in Nov 2020. I have attempted several times to clone her and have had very little luck.
I have a clone in flower now that I flipped when it was only 3 days or so rooted.
I have several that I thought were going to make it until this cold snap and I think they got too cold in the garage where they were.
I moved the seed/clone tent into the house, but I'm afraid too late.
We shall see.
As for the story on this girl...I have been keeping this girl in a display case in the spare bedroom as a mother.
I recently got a house guest who is staying in this room and agreed to turning the light off and on, etc. She's been in the room with the plant for a week.
I went in to check on her yesterday and SHE LOOKED DEAD AS A DOORNAIL...when I asked my house guest about it, her response was she said something to me about it 3 days ago and she didn't know what, if anything I had done about it...and she just kept turning the light on and off.
My first thought, if I have a plant in a 4 foot lit glass display case in the house, wouldn't that be an indication that it is a "prized" plant?
Secondly, if you are going to the trouble of turning this light off and on for a plant that is going downhill...wouldn't you think you should say something again? Maybe I didn't hear you.
Thirdly, when the plant looked like it was dying, wouldn't you have said something?
This plant was in such bad shape the fan leaves crumbled when I touched them. It looks like there's is no coming back.
I immediately took it and put it in the bathroom sink and flushed the pot with water. I wasn't even concerned about the PH, I just wanted to give it a drink.
I noticed the top roots where the dirt washed away still looked pretty green, so I am hoping she can recover.
I let her sit and drain for most of the day, then moved her out to the garage. I went ahead and topped her off with some nitrogen and properly ph'd water and placed her in the flower tent.
I presume she can be treated as a re-veg plant and I just need to feed her and get her to leaf out again.
So here's my journey.
I decided to make a grow diary of the progress of this mistake to document for future reference.
I have continued to nurse 4 AB cuttings even though I haven't thought they stood a chance in hell at this point. They were cut 2/3 & 2/4.
Today is 2/23, so it's been 20 days and 1 of the cuttings appears to be perking up today. That would be an indication it is getting some roots. Yay! I am praying 1 of these cuttings survives so I don't lose the AB strain. I'm not so sure at this time, that the mother will come back and thrive.
I wanted to start documenting these cuttings/clones because I have had little luck with clones and I can find few images of what to expect. I'm guessing because it's such an ugly process.
2/26-- The AB mother has not survived.😥
However, it appears I have 3 cuttings/clones coming along.
Thanks to the Ganja Gods! Lol! I have finally got the cloning figured out.
Maybe.....it's probably still too soon to say that. Lol!
I know I have 1 that has perked back up and 2 others that are looking like they are going to make it.
Time will tell.
