Off we go with my first near-pure Indica, Critical Kush from Barney's Farm, as delivered (quickly and painlessly) by Grizzly Seed Bank.
Intention is to start the grow in rockwool, after what I hope is a 3-day germination in vermiculite (it actually took only 2 days), which rarely lets me down.
Will then go under 12/12 600W sodium light schedule. Several other plants are in different stages, so this is a compromise solution - I'd normally start under 250W of blue light, 24/0.
After a month or two, I hope to transfer to a DWC pot vacated by flowering Expert Haze sisters. (Yes, no doubt I'll end up buying yet another!)
Fastest-developing plant I've seen to date.
She's a bit leggy, but for I've seen plants take a month or more to reach this height and leaf development.
Having a 12/12 schedule 600W sodium lamp is helping, and the increasing temperatures as we head into spring.
No sign of root reaching beyond the (large) rockwool cube, but that's normal. Sometimes it takes several months for them to properly get going in these cold climes.
Edging along. Less leggy now. Would probably benefit from longer hours of light, but my Haze is in third week of flowering and 12/12 is mandatory just now. Haven't filled the DWC pot yet. Once a week I dip the rockwool in a weak Ionic Hydro Grow solution. That's all she gets, for now.
A little pale for my liking, possibly because I start with a weak nutrient solution (EC well below 1 mS/cm) but she's coming along steadily.
She got a full tank of nutrient solution this week, where previously I'd been dunking the rockwool in a weak bath of Ionic Grow.
She's survived the burn from a few weeks ago and is getting into her stride. Roots forming well.
Pale leaf canopy compared to her various sisters.
My first indica, so not sure what to expect :-)
A week of surprisingly strong growth, where the buds have developed enormously. From really puny little critters to quite fat and impressive in one week.
Done nothing unusual that would explain the change. She continues to drink a litre per day, with 10ml of Liquid Oxygen. She has about 15ml of nutrients each week. I keep the PH at about 6, give or take 0.3.
Her foliage is now fully yellow, bar the very highest leaves. Not as much bud development as I saw last week.
Pistils are browning on some buds, but not the highest and largest ones.
I will give her one more week and then probably harvest.
Hi mate what’s with the liquid oxygen can you go all the way through with it does it have other advantages apart from root problems I was advised to use it on a root problem I was having with a couple of plants it cleared the problem and I stopped using it have you got any more information on your own personal advantages to using it thanks and looking good fat bud
hey @Dean1 - first, I am no expert! I choose to use daily liquid oxygen on the basis of advice from an expert on avoiding infections (mind you, the same expert also recommended liquid silicon, which played merry hell with my PH, and i no longer use that). I figure it provides value for money if it saves me getting a root infection - i'm shelling out a lot of dough over the course of a plant's life to run a 600W lamp for 12hr per day, and the liquid oxygen is very cheap by comparison. They also say it provides extra oxygen to the roots, but both of my current DWC pots have twin air stones so that's not a big consideration for me. Good luck, my friend!
I’m on week 15 of grow and week 8 of flowering and the buds are crazy. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. Tough little girls, mine got poisoned by my bf at the time from over feeding but she came back strong as ever. Looking great! Can’t wait to see your progress 💚✌️
