New clones. ~4" pots Miracle Grow potting soil. 3+ days of continuous light to force veg. cycle, then 18/6. Bright, indirect sunlight during the day. MD dong well, now after poor adjustment to dry/cool.
Jilly D smells a bit,...Afgooey and Ice Cream Cake are doing quite well, also. MD is finally coming along nicely. 9PH has been getting pruned to shape. The clones have sufficient root.
Very short full sun exposures 15 min x 2 so far - more now that they have adequate foliage. Water as needed. No other changes.
Note: Last year, 'clones to harvest' period was 35 weeks total. Expect to move outdoors about June 1, as per last year - again using the crop cover for hail protection.
Approaching 10 weeks. All growing well now - three of good shape, with multiple meristems. Continuing to prune the other two for shape/size.
Out on 'the cart' yesterday, and getting direct full sun during the day - weaning to the full sun each day, LED in garage in the evenings to extend the daylength to 18 hrs.
Plan to transplant to larger pots in the next couple of days. Also still planning to move to "the grow area", with sunshade ("Burka") June 1,...
Tomorrow is 13 weeks. Outdoors in full sun, daytime,...Indoors at night and bad weather - supplemented to 18 hrs total light. Transplanted about one week ago when watering the 4" pots became necessary daily. Girls have been pruned as needed to create dense, short plants with thick stems. Also for multiple meristems. Plan to transplant to the outdoor "Grow Area", with 'crop cover' ("Burka" - for hail/sun protection), first of June. Will fertilize at that time.
Yesterday was 16 wks veg cycle. 2021 Girls are in the protected Grow Area with some soil amendments.
Water is via flooded trough, now - each four days, or as needed. I will add first fertilizer Tx @ next watering - 12-9-6.
Daylength is just over 15 hrs, right now.
Day temps upper 80's - low 90's,...nights upper 50's - low 60's.
Just past 18wks, and solstice. Watered via flooding, as needed. The girls' soil got ~2qt, each, yesterday: 1tbs blackstrap molasses, 1/4 cup turbinado sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, in 2 gal.
Right now we are in 'S-T-R-E-T-C-H'. Just past one month beyond solstice. 12.9.6 to the plants about a week ago - time to ween to my flowering fertilizer.
We are in S-T-R-E-T-C-H, and just a bit past a month beyond solstice. The 'Girls' are showing the very early signs of flowers,...SO they got 1/2 cup white sugar + 1/4 cup turbinado sugar + 2 tbls blackstrap molasses + 5 tbls Tiger Bloom + 1 cup Big Bloom (Fox Farm products) in four gallons of water, divided evenly. No more Nitrogen fertilizer,...
Flooded with water as needed.
Mother Nature is doing the rest,...
Just past week 28. Well into flowering. Staking and wind-barrier (tarp) required, due to occasional strong winds. Flowering fert. each ten days - added some 3/4 strength 12-9-6 to three, due to some minor chlorosis in their older fan leaves (wind/heat/flowering fert.). Water as needed each four days,...Days getting shorter, here in N. Colorado.
Happy equinox! Middle of week 30.
Just fertilized again two days ago (as before), flooded today. Kolas are getting very large. Further staking, supporting necessary. Strong smell around the grow area,...
"Blast Barrier" tarp in place, big tarp in readiness. New 8x10 tarp coming - hope it will be easier to make it to Halloween that way.
Harvest was early AM 10/20. Middle of week 34. Trichomes beginning to yellow, plants smelled 'ripe', full moon. Fan leaves are now cleaned from the plant and it will dry indoors for about ten days before trimming and placing in glass jars to cure.
Middle of week 33. Last fert. 10/4 - plants have been getting FLUSHED every other day since. Removing fan leaves as they yellow. Days are about 11 hrs, now. Tarps in place. Freezing tonight and the next three nights,...but good day temps, lots of sun, and little wind coming + trichomes cloudy, an amber one here and there, so I'll keep 'em going for now,...big kolas, nice smell.
