Nugs not swelling up like I would like. But I’m really liking the purple I’m seeing on the one plant.
Didn’t do much with the plants this week accept sit and watch them grow.
Today is first day of week 5. But I can’t edit my comment for week 4 so I will fill you in here.
Week 4 was a disaster. I found spider mites on leaves of both plants. And like a noob sprayed with neem oil. And despite leaving in darkness for 12 hours the white hairs still burnt the next day. (See pics above). I also was seeing the leaves turn lighter and lighter green. I thought maybe it was a deficiency. But learning from my previous grow witch I burnt at week 5. I did a pre week 5 mini flush with ph 6.5 water and sugers (liquid weight). My run off water was at an EC of 3600!! So I flushed until runoff was 1800 EC. Hopefully they buff out. Tune in to find out if they do.
**Update** March 5th. Day 5 of week 5
So leaves are going light green/yellow. (See above pics) looks like a deficiency but run off was high last week.
(3600 EC) So I’m thinking it’s a lockout maybe? If you have any ideas let me know.
The white hairs that went brown from neem oil spray are regrowing white. (See above pics day 5 week 5)
I’m growing in promix. I foolishly wasn’t checking my runoff. I checked last feed and it was 3600EC. Is that why leaves are going light green/ yellow. I never saw signs of burning (leaf tips turning up)
I would trust the plant more than the meters. No burn is good.
From your diary, seemed that you have added a lot of stuff. And these increases EC without causing burn or dead root.
If she can take the high EC, then no need to take quick actions. Just watch your run off pH
I’m happier with this week than the previous 2 weeks. This week the smell is getting more intense and nugs are swelling. Still have some fan leaves yellowing but not to worried about that yet. The yellowing I think was my own stupidity and lack of patience. I was worried about burning them and flushed 2 feeds in a row effectively starving the plants of nutes. I am now slowly bringing the nutrient levels back up over the last feed and the next few feeds. I think it will most definitely affect my yield but hey it’s all trial and error right!
This is only my third grow on my own. And I’ve only been growing since the pandemic started. So about a year now. If you have any input or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
It’s the first day of week 7. The nugs are swelling up nice considering what they have been through. They are starting to smell strong. Both plants smell completely different. Even tho they are the same strain and from the same pack of seeds.
If you have an idea of what’s going on with my fan leaves let me know.
Week 8
I started flushing this week. I’m using the green planet nutrient chart and it says flush using Rezin and Liquid Weight. The EC was 650 going in and 1500 runoff. PH going in was 6.5
PH runoff was 6. I’m using tap water that is around 360 EC coming out the tap. I’m going to flush for one more week.
The tricomes on the purple plant are actually purple. First time I’ve ever seen that.
Just wondering if there is a preference among more experienced growers. Should I hang the full plant to dry or hang individual branches? I pretty new at growing. Let me know.
Like always there is no do this or do that... as long aas you have an good airy spot to hang them yyou can hang her as complete plant
if envoirement is colder and more humid , do wet trimming or apretrrtimming in taking away the big fanleaves and cut her in pieces.
i prefer the wet trimming method, that means cutting her in pieces, ttrimming or pretrimming and then let her dry on an airy spot without direct sunlight.
i made my own drybox, in using abig cardboardbox,
i put in strings, and hang the precuttet branches inside.
if weed is fresh, i let the cardboardbox open, and contrrol them if they are curing well... after a few days, i can close the cardboardboxx. i let you in the comments alink to my diaries, ther i made alittle tutorial about curing, and some pictures of the cardboardbox
Week 9
Didn’t do anything this week except water the lady’s. My telescopes batteries died so I can’t take pics of the tricomes. Rest assured they are nice as hell. They are a massive mix of colour. You see purple, cloudy yellow and amber. Super excited to puff on these nugs!!
Final and longest week lol
I dried these lady’s for 7 days in the tent I grew them in. The tent was around 73F-75F temperature. I used a humidifier to keep the humidity in between 55 and 60. I hung them on the trellis netting. Once they dried I trimmed and put them into jars.
