Njanne Soaked the seeds for a few minutes in hydrogen peroxide to soften the shells. Then into distilled water over night. Tomorrow they will go in the paper towels to get the tap root going. Then into pots to get started in time for a top, mainline, hardening off and transplant on May 10th. I grew some monsters last year (FFT1, FFT2 and FFT3) but I didn't do a good job of the grow diary. This year I'm on top of it.

Njanne Both seeds germinated nicely. The grow room is up and running and the lights and temperature are in spec, but the humidity is low. I ran out of wicks for my humidifier and I put an order in... still waiting for them to be delivered.

Njanne Almost time for transplanting into bigger pots. I have to find new homes for two of these, and one will go into the summer garden. I'm considering setting up one plant for cloning... if I do that she'll stay in the grow room over the summer.

Njanne These plants are growing nicely, in spite of some leaf damage in the early nodes. Took longer than I thought to sort out the RH in the room. Also, I'm not sure if the soil is a good choice for these. I'm not too worried though because they are going outside in a few short weeks... and that's when things get easy :-) I topped most of my plants this week and cloned the growth tips... but the FFT9 wasn't ready. I'm thinking by next week I'll have this one topped. I'll also start nutrients next week.

Njanne The plants are topped and mainlined now. There are just a few weeks left before they go outdoors! So exciting. It can't be too soon because the roots are already looking for more space.

Njanne Time to harden these babies off... too many gnats in the grow room and the roots are already bound.

Njanne Into the dirt! Taking a bit of a chance here because there is snow in the forecast... but I'm gonna get the plastic on the grow house ASAP.

Njanne The moment we have all been waiting for... the summer outdoor flowering photos... enjoy :) These are in week 3 of flowering by now. Started the season off with a difficult start... I put them outdoors while the says were still too short. The plants all started to follower, but then as the solstice approached they all converted back into veg and grew like crazy. I was sure my entire grow was fukd... Now we are well into August which is solid flowering for Ontario growers in zone 5.

Njanne These ladies are not all that big... we suffered some light stress early in the grow, and the FFT9 was not able to recover very well. In spite of this she has crazy fat colas, and I'm pretty sure her yield will be hefty. I topped her so she has 8 main colas. You could say she's short and chunky xo. I have powdery mildew in the garden this summer and this strain is vulnerable. I've had to trim off infected fan leaves. I've also had to treat her with the milk-water mix.

Njanne This plant is already good for harvest... It's so early! The colas are huge and fat. The trichomes are cloudy with plenty of amber. We took some samples a few days ago and tried it in the vaporizer. We're starting the chop and trim this week. My next post on this diary will be the harvest post. And so it begins!!!

Happy Harvest Day!

Great for outdoor growing in Canada... these fast flowering plants offer huge dense colas that are ripe well before the frost hits Ontario, Canada (Zone 5). The smoke effects of this plant (while we have not cured it yet) are heady and relaxing. It starts off nice and euphoric, and settles into a relaxing stoned feeling. Good for a solid night of sleep. The taste is more on the earthy side.. not a lot of citrus in it. These plants suffered light stress and managed to bounce back nicely. I saw a bit of powdery mildew, but the plant was ripe before it had a chance to take hold. I recommend these fast flowering photoperiod plants to all Ontario growers!!

Great grow, curious, what's going on with your burns on that one leaf? I have similar on mine despite how healthy they look. Keep it up!

@Sparkles, Yup. I think we managed to reign it in for the most part tho. Milk and water spray 40:60 mix... FTW

Oh helz ya this is a fun one. And a real pleasure to harvest and trim. Almost no "popcorn bud". Huge bonus with plants this big.
