Soaked the seeds for a few minutes in hydrogen peroxide to soften the shells. Then into distilled water over night. Tomorrow they will go in the paper towels to get the tap root going. Then into pots to get started in time for a top, mainline, hardening off and transplant on May 10th.

All three seeds germinated nicely. The grow room is up and running and the lights and temperature are in spec, but the humidity is low. I ran out of wicks for my humidifier and I put an order in... still waiting for them to be delivered.

These ladies are growing fast and furious. I transplanted one this morning into a bigger pot. This week I'll start nutrients. Will be topping and training soon.... I'll also be taking clones when I do the topping. I like the amount of branching and bushiness that's already evident. Stay tuned!

These plants are growing nicely, in spite of some leaf damage in the early nodes. Took longer than I thought to sort out the RH in the room. Also, I'm not sure if the soil is a good choice for these. I'm not too worried though because they are going outside in a few short weeks... and that's when things get easy :-) I topped the plants this week and cloned the growth tips. It's always fun to see which clones will take and which will not. My success rate is not high... but I don't put much energy into it. I already have more plants than I can handle. I'll start nutrients next week.

The plants are topped and mainlined now. There are just a few weeks left before they go outdoors! So exciting. It can't be too soon because the roots are already looking for more space.

Into the dirt! Taking a bit of a chance here because there is snow in the forecast... but I'm gonna get the plastic on the grow house ASAP.

The moment we have all been waiting for... the summer outdoor flowering photos... enjoy :) These are already in their third week of flowering by now. Started the season off with a difficult start... I put them outdoors while the says were still too short. The plants all started to follower, but then as the solstice approached they all converted back into veg and grew like crazy. I was sure my entire grow was fukd... Now we are well into August which is solid flowering for Ontario growers in zone 5.

These ladies are not all that big... we suffered some light stress early in the grow, and the FFT10 was not able to recover very well. In spite of this she has crazy fat colas, and I'm pretty sure her yield will be hefty. I topped her so she has 8 main colas. You could say she's short and chunky xo. I have powdery mildew in the garden this summer and this strain is vulnerable. I've had to trim off infected fan leaves. I've also had to treat her with the milk-water mix.

This monster is almost ready for harvest. Next weekend the chop will begin. The colas are huge and heavy. The trichomes are starting to turn.

Harvest time for this ripe lady. She isn't as tall as most of my other plants, but her colas are huge, and dense and heavy. We've already sampled a test bud, and she's a heavy hitter with plenty of indica... next post will be the harvest post... stay tuned.

Time for harvest. Check out my harvest post for details and smoke report. As expected, the FFT10 fast flowering photo period plant was ripe weeks before the standard photo period plants. She was resistant to powdery mildew, in spite of this season being really bad for the fungus. It wasn't just my garden either... all of my neighbours and local gardeners suffered terrible mildew this year, in both cannabis plants, and vegetables and certain perennial flowers. These FFTs showed good resistance. I'm happy with the way this lady grew in spite of a number of adverse conditions.

Happy Harvest Day!

This strain is perfect for new growers and growers in the north where the summer is short and the cold sets in early October. The plants are resistant to light stress and to disease. I started this plant indoors in March. I hardened them off and put them outside in late April under a plastic shelter to protect them from the cold. The thing I didn't account for was the fact that in April the days are still very short in Ontario. The result was that the plants went into flowering!! I had no idea that it could happen, and it took me a while to figure out the source of the problem. They were hardened off and brought out of 18 hrs of light, and put into the garden when the days were still too short. They tolerated the cold, and even a dusting of snow... but there just wasn't enough sunlight. So by mid May the plants in my garden were all flowering! I was so disappointed, and I thought my grow was going to be a total write off. You'll notice I missed a few weeks in this diary during this period because I was sure the grow was done for. Rather than rip the plants out, I decided to just sit back and watch to see what would happen. And then, as the days got longer the plants went back into veg... by the time the summer solstice rolled in, the plants were starting to shoot up new growth... but the leaves were all single blades until they started to stretch for flowering. This is when I started the photo diary back up. In the end this plant offered huge tight fat colas and a really good yield. We did find a lot of seeds in the plants, but considering the light stress, and the fact that there is at least one neighbour in my area that leaves his male plants to grow (he's a total idiot IMH thinking he's 'breeding' in an uncontrolled outdoor environment) the seeds don't come as a huge surprise to me. I'm also not really concerned... whatever. I'm just glad that my plant survived LOL. Bottom line, I highly recommend these genetics... if only we could buy them! Smoke report: We have got these buds in the cure, but early signs point to a strong Indica influence, with a nice heady high. There is a gasoline aroma in early cure, but that may change as they cure progresses. Effects are strong with a heady relaxing vibe. The munchies are moderate, but I mostly pass out buy the time that stage of the high kicks in. This variety is a solid choice.

I grew FF10 at more than 70% humidity. Not recommending it but i want to say that there was no problem:

@Med_in_Tropic, well if she wants it humid... she'll be suffering right about now. I should have it fixed in a day or two.

You were two years ahead but Fast Buds has now released six fast flowering photoperiods. Any idea if this strain is one of them?

Njaakcommentedweek 103 years ago
The buds are just massive. In person it's heavy in the hand to trim! So lush. Definitely well over a pound dry would be my guess.
