Ive been looking online for diaries with this strain and ive been mostly unsuccessful.. All diaries are either old/unfinished/abandoned/forgotten. So ill make one from start to finish. At this very moment in time, i am already a week into flowering, but i have pictures that i took throughout (minus a week maybe). I want to help people that are looking for this particular strain to find a proper diary to follow or read, because like i mentioned above i couldnt find any that are looking good. Looks like not many growers are able to come across this strain or theyve been putting off growing it. The ones that did try to grow it didnt look like they had a good looking result - or at least thats what ive seen online the past 3 hours that ive been looking... Im not an experienced grower, this is my second ever grow, only this time, im feeling a bit more brave, so ill be doing mainlining and proper scrog - unlike the one i did with DrGrinspoon. Based on peoples advice and suggestions on my previous grow i have now decided to aqcuire the complete collection of the Intense Nutrients line, and so far it seems to be working great. Stay tuned!

First week as any other first week would go, ive got the feeding schedule for growing in COCO on the intense Nutrients site and have been following as percicely as i can. Im emptying an entire bottle of water (1 litre) into the pot and letting it drain before putting the pot back inside the tent. In the meantime, i am thinking of how to find the most eficient way of doing a scrog during a pandemic with all places shut and no way of aqcuiring hardware... Luckily ivre got a friend who used to own a mail service warehouse, so i managed to get some post cage pieces. later on that.

Nothing new same stuff, replanted to a 3L pot but kept the same watering routine, waiting for the third set of leaves so i can mainline. I have inquired about the cage pieces, need a half piece for the bottom to rest the pot on so i can collet drainage when the pot will be impossible to move anymore and a full piece for the ScrOG. Next problem would be how t secure the full cage piece to the tent so that the structures integrity stays as is. Its too early for that yet anyway, lets at least get to the mainlining first :D I found out that i dont have to use the "Down 'n' Dirty" from Intense Nutrients, after adding all the supplements to the water (RO water) the PH is 5.8 no need to lower any more.

At day 18, seeing how the roots are already peeking out the bottom, i decided to transplant her into the last pot, 30L air pot, took me a good 4 hours soaking the bricks and getting rid of any residual salts from the coco, it was an entire days project :P The plant itself looks alright although i think the feed mightve been a bit high in EC as the next weeks some of the leaves developed a claw, I also think it couldve been due to improper RH inside the tent.. OR, it could even be because i didnt wash the coco off good enough. I feel sad i didnt take enough pictures :/ but in my defence i felt like there was nothing to document other than a normal rate of growth without any surprises for which i am thankful.

Last week before the mainline, looking really good. You can see some of the bigger leaves have developed a claw, nothing too crippling. Having shat my pants for yet another time with overdoing it on the nitrogen, i started alternating 1 day feed and 1 day just RO water without anything in it. This resulted in some of the newer leaves to have signs of deficiencies but not on the whole leaf, only where it started and then fixed itself. Most of those leaves are now gone anyway, just noting what went down during those weeks. Feels like there is less to document with this grow, most of my questions were answered during my previous grow on here, on UK420 or online in general, so this time should be a smooth linear run.

And finally heres the mainline, I waited until the plant has made 6 nodes and topped down to the third one, removing everything underneath and securing down the 2 little branches that would form the mainline. I can go ahead and say that this was the most gutting thing to do if you are not an experienced/seasoned grower, which is why it is not recommended for first time starters. Next plan was to remove the "evens" - second node, and top the fourth for a total of 8 colas (not 12 like TOTEM did with his Grinspoon) that is supposed to save me a week before switching to flowering. Watering schedule is the same, i removed the clawing leaves and continued feeding as i was at 1.2EC until next week that i realised that something is still wrong.

I finally managed to get the cage pieces!!!! The front folding half for drainage and one of the sides for the scrog. The setup is almost complete. Now i was faced with another issue, the cage piece weighs 11KG (+-500g) so i needed to find a way of attatching it to the tent, in a way so that the tent stays intact, and the plant is not in danger. Taking into consideration the 7 odd KG that the extractor fan and filter weighs. Bricks to keep the half piece elevated were enough to manage to fit the collecting dish underneath it. Theres the day i cleared the even nodes from the main colas, I now have 8 total colas that all face the same way. I will be putting up the cage piece soon, i think ive figured out a safe way to do it. The clawing is still an absolute mystery to me, feeding stable at 1.2 seemed to be too much, so i lowered to 1EC with no results. I kept it at 1EC and the clawing never went away. I think i used a bit too much Mag-Cal, the COCOA&B already had some of the ingredients in Mag-Cal so i opted to lower the dose of that with hopes in the coming weeks the clawing goes away, other than that, everything else seems absolutely fine.

Im saying this is day 46 but it could be any day in that week, i did take the pictures but like i said because of the minimal changes/growth i felt like it was un necessary to post them so i didnt send them to myself from the phone.. I found the solution to hang the cage piece, I used 2 hangers on each corner thinking instead of bending poles it will instead push the upright ones into the ground, making the entire structure a bit more stable, considering the centre mass is way lower so the tent doesnt tip at all.

Last few days before i made the switch to 12/12. With the grid in place, I am considering the switch because my lights footprint is not as wide as i would hope it would be, so stretching the main colas away from the centre seemed like a silly idea. Im actively trying to push some of the branches back on themselves so they come out from the middle where the lights intensity is highest. The clawing seemed to have gone down when i lowered the Mag-Cal supplement, but i still think it might be due to improper RH.

First day of flowering, i defoliated and bent most of the branches more spread apart, keep[ing in mind that the fursthest away ones will be struggling. Kept EC at 1, with runoff measuring at .8. Results are promising. Im a bit sad i didnt take any more pictures during that time.. Day 62, the stretch has begun!! I started bending some branches back to the middle. Runoff sits at .6EC which means i can start increasing feed. 1.1EC going in. I will take some more pictures tonight (when the lights come on) and finish writing up week 10, second week of flower.

Day 66, I managed to pull some branches back through the middle, and they seem to enjoy the abundance of light ^_^ Got so many branches coming up through the grid, and so many leaves its getting overpopulated :P I will be defoliating on week 3, there is nothing else new to add here. Smells like fresh green, like somebody chopped a bunch of leaves and let them dry out. Im gonna try and keep the humidity below 50% although im pretty sure during nighttime it goes up to 80% will probably get a dehumidifier to control that, maybe put it on a timer as well, on every 15 min for 15 min, that way i can avoid spending loads of money.

End of week 3, done the last heavy defoliation, removed some but sites that didnt make it above grid, I was meant to remove more bud sites above the grid, those that are hidden at the base of the grid, the ones that dont get enough light because others have overtaken them, but i didnt, thought i might give them another week or two to come up. Every time i defoliate the next day its bushy again, is looking super healthy, Im still debating whether i ned to keep using Mag-Cal since the AB has calcium in it, i am thinking of halving the dosage to allow for some extra PK in the solution and not overincrease the EC. Ill aim for a maximum of 1.6-1.8EC at the peak of bloom, gradually increasing over the course of the next few weeks, .1-.2EC a day, until i see her complain. Theres smell in the room where the tent is, but its not of cannabis, it is of Fresh growing vegetation ^_^ Rubbing the stem at this point last year with Dr.Grinspoon, i remember it smelled like lemon, but rubbing the stem of this one i just smell flowers :D, Very interested to see how its gonna end up being.. Stay tuned<3

Yet another defoliation, only 2 days after the last one, looks like she can take loads more.. Every time i srtress her she comes back faster than last time! Removed most leaves that are grid level and some pruning as well but not as much, mostly popcorn buds underneath. I dont feel comfortable pruning all lower bud growth that is not getting any light, maybe next grow ill try something more extreme. WIth the addition of the new supplement (PK PHITE) I decided to increase EC from 1.1 to 1.4 (gradually over the course of the last few days) decreased Mag-Cal to .5ml/L to allow for that. Mag-Cal supplements are the most "Saline" or "salty" so its the very first candidate to stop or decrease the usage of, COCO A&B already have trace minerals to supplement for the loss in coco and cation exchange, adding the extra should only be a case with RO water and/or if the plant asks for it. Pistils are appearing now all over the new growth, all the way down to the base of the grid. Having heard all those nice things about Malawi and Panama red and the cross between the two, I have high expectations on how this should finish.

I havent stopped defoliating last week, almost every day i found more leaves that had to go. Even now i can still see plenty of leaves that are covering bud sites. The size it is getting at is monstrous, and all the little branches look like theyre gonna be big... I have steadily increased EC over the past week up to 1.6, with runoff measuring at 1.7. 1.8EC will be the highest i will go on this run. I snapped a branched while manouvering it around and tried to tape it together but it didnt work so i plucked it and vaped it. Tasted horrible but the effect was quite nice even though its still super early. Im really sorry for the quality of the video my phone is still broken, aiming to fix it in the coming month.

Week 6 of flower, I read a study somewhere that defoliating doesnt increase yields as much as we might think, also the flowers themselves do not produce chlorophyll so exposing them to sun doesnt help them get bigger. Removing leaves is actually a bit risky because the plants genetic code has her making sun leaves and shade leaves, exposing shade leaves to direct sun messes with the signals. Theres no doubt that defoliating helps in some ways here and there, but definitely not the way I thought it did, so I stopped removing leaves for now. It's all getting fluffy and nice, smells lovely when rubbed. More pictures in the next few days. Day 98 I have discovered loads of leaves that have a little weird growth on them, on some theres two. I have googled the mutations a cannabis plant can have, i havent found anything that looks like this, if anyone knows what this is i would very much appreciate some information ^_^ i decided i will back down on the Nitrogen, i will start decreasing A&B slowly after the start of week 8.

Week 7 of flower!! I lowered the A&B feed with hopes that the leathery-shiny-green will go from the leaves, not expecting it to happen overnight but should start seeing a difference in the coming few weeks. Ace seeds says the flowering period is 12 weeks, with 4 weeks left to go i an hoping whatever buds have started to form will thicken and gain some weight.. The process is so slow it is literally torturing.. Would be nice to open the tent every day and see something new but im stuck with the same old stuff every day, the changes are so minimal that its not even worth documenting. After all the research ive done i am convinced i have a little mutant. The stems of the leaves are making little buds, some stems have 2 or 3 growth tips going and some just the one, out of all the mutations i couldve gotten, im happy i got this one! I dont know how the scrog is going, i dont know how the plant is growing, i have nothing to compare to, i am heavily relying on peoples feedback and opinions mainly on my other diary on UK420 since this is my second ever grow and first ever time trying these techniques, so trial, error and notes, all for myself. I asked loads of questions on my previous grow, all of which proved to be unnecessary/ irrelevant to what i was doing. 4 more weeks to go before i can chop this goddess. Drying/curing will be exactly like with grinspoon, slow drying over the course of 10-15 days and a slight cure over a week before i can sample a few nugs. The rest will stay curing for the next month minimum. I have had loads of buds from friends of friends that have their own grows and almost all of them smell like Hay, i dont want my delicacy to smell like hay, so ill make my best effort to produce quality! after all, all of this will be for myself and my wife, might as well be proper <3

Week 8 is over!! I am getting to busy at work and have less and less time to keep notes take pictures and update the diary and for that, i apologise. I have a minor tip burn, reason being is because i am only feeding once when the lights come on, then i go to sleep, by the time im up the lights are off. I keep running fresh ROed water through it before i run my nutes and it seems to be okay like this, Im just hoping the tip burn will not progress any further.. The entire thing is completely covered in buds. The stems are super resinous to touch and the smell is getting kind of more and more intense every day. Even though Ace seeds speaks of a 12 week flowering period, i am sure this will go a tid bit further. If i follow Ace seeds' word then i have 4 more weeks. If the buds swell up during that time im happy, if not ill wait another few weeks before harvest. So after all, 8th of may might not be the day.. well see ^_^

Half way through week 9 and we are gettting heavier and heavier.. I had to think of a way to hold the branches up because of the weight, so i tied them to the top of the tent. There are more of them that need to be tied, i just didnt have the time last night to do it. If everything goes the way it is going atm then im confident Ace seeds was right about the flowering time, but i might keep it an extra week for good measure. More updates to come.

It is getting a little hard to believe that his entire thing is just the one plant. This week i begun lowering the nutrient levels slowly starting with PKphite. In the next week i will lower the A and B to half and start adding Climax. If i listen to Ace seeds ive got another 2 weeks to go. Which i believe is not hte case, i have at least another 3 or 4 weeks to go. Theres still plenty of time. I will begin taking Microshots in the coming week if i manage to steady my hands a bit :P The branches are coming form everywhere, completely random locations for branches to be coming from, ones that i did not plan on having. The buds on the leaves are getting heavier, never did i expect on my second ever run to encounter a genetic mutant, not only this mutant is getting massive, theres also extra fllower on it which i definitely wont complain about :D

Day 129 week 11 of flower. This was the climax week. Climax is supposed to make her finish on time, im sure she needs another week or two. SO what im doing is the following, Flushing the climax for a week with quarter strength nutrient solution and the week after this flushing with just Down 'n' Dirty and RO water. 2 more weeks to go (i think)

Happy Harvest Day!

Malawi X Panama red by ACE seeds. A strain i was waiting to come back in stock for almost a year (must be seasonal and in high demand since its always OOS) It is one of the hardiest cannabis plants imo, after such an extreeme stress training and mainlining, my "little" mutant has reached its end of life. Even though it hasnt dried properly yet and hasnt cured at all, the little buds i steam dried in the microwave gave me jitters. DEFINITELY day smoke. I would also avoid using this strain if you have something troubling you that you cant deal with right that second. The sativa effects are so strong that the anxiety is there and you cannot escape it. It is literally like being high on mild psychedelics (more like riding towards the peak that never comes) Made me very restless trying to juggle a few tasks at the same time, forgetting half of them as i went along. I always heard people saying that they cannot deal with sativas because of the anxieties that it induces and i never understood what they mean when they say these things but i can safely say i CAN now. Its not that you are anxious like a bad trip but more like things troubling you and you end up overthinking about them. Growing this monster was the easiest and one of the most interesting things ive done in my life. The reaction to this high stress training was unbelievably insane, you could chop anything at any point in time without any serious reprecussions and the time needed to come back from topping and defoliation was minimal, making it an even shorter veg duration. The branches were covered in buds. Not only the "main" colas (in "" because there was no main colas, mainlining and ScrOG should have them all fighting for dominance) but also the laterals and even the bilaterals were completely covered in buds. I found buds growing at grid level, with minimal light or wind reaching them and they have become monsters, YES very tiny little ones but packed with so much power. They were the ones i was vaping on before the chop and even after the chop and i gotta say i am a bit scared of how the end product will feel like. Smell Well, for smell i have to say one thing. NO. It is the most awful thing ive ever smelled and mind you, ive smelled carrion flowers before. The stench closely resembles cat piss left alone to dry, not in a good way though. Unlike Dr.Grinspoon which had nice hints of lemon and aniseed, this one is JUST cat piss in a meadow. Day 2 of drying in the tent and the room stinks so much we cannot go in it. I cannot come up with words to describe this smell, closest i can think of is fresh cut hay with a hint of flower but forgotten in a barn. Taste I cannot comment on that just yet as i am in the process of drying and straight after that im gonna be curing it for a few weeks. With steam drying the buds in the microwave i am essentially getting rid of anything water soluble, basically all flavonoids and terpenes. Only the canabinoid oils are left on the dry plant matter since they do not disolve in water. So for taste, ill wait another few weeks before updating this entry :D Conclusion. MUCH higher yield than Grinspoon and the time invested into growing this one was not an absolute waste. I am estimating about 6 ounces of dry bud (looking at how small the buds came out of the microwave it only makes sense) in a 1.4x1.4x2 tent with only a 308w LED grow light. If you like sativas, this is worth a shot. If youre a first time grower, youre in for a treat. Thank you ACE SEEDS for the amazing opportunity :D My time doing this has come to and end for the forseeable future. Whilst being sad about not being able to delve into another grow, i am very excited about what life holds for me and my wife in the coming few months ^_^

Hello everyone again! The second diary and possibly the last one for a long time due to some IRL stuff going on atm. The only other grow i can compare to is Dr.Grinspoon. With that said, Malawi x Panama did NOT give me any grief whatsoever. I had early toxicities and leaf claws, extreeme stress training, mainlining and defoliation the first 4 weeks of flower, every day i removed more than 25% of foliage and it still managed to crawl through and make it this far. I did not weigh the wet cut, but i can estimate around 2KG wet (maybe even 3 by the looks of it), currently on its second day of drying. I Will have to come back to this for an update when the buds are dry and jarred, i need to weigh them properly and do an updated version of this review a few weeks into vaping it :D
