Damn these took off the past week.. I have worries about the roots but the dark brown that seems to be on them around the water level easily comes off when you jostle them for a few seconds.. root rot would certainly not do that in my experience
So I’m starting to think maybe this is the hydroguard breaking down the organic bacterias.. I dunno man but the plants look excellent so I’m not stressing it.
I’m also not seeing the pH spikes like before. Keeping a steady pH now, I noticed the back of the tent was moved closer to a heat register a few weeks ago, and I’m thinking they were getting some of that heat transferred into the water/nute reservoir.. after reconfiguring the tent, and giving them plenty of space off that back wall, they have seemed to be in much better shape and the pH spikes stopped.
Topped all 4 plants on April 1. Clipped first node days before, then I topped above the 6th node, leaving 5 nodes total - or 10 branches
Thinking I’ll take two clones from each and end up with 8 total main branches - 10 is kinda seeming like a lot now that I think about it.
April 6 update- moved to new grow room instead of tents I’ve been using.. pumped to have more space for these plants going forward. More atmospheric variables to account for but we’ll see how that plays out.
Took one node of fan leaves off each one.
Pulling clones tonight from each one, will take one node (2 cuttings/branches) from each one
3 of these are looking like strong phenos, one of those 3 is almost certain to have some good color judging by her now..
April 8 mid week update
Had some wilting from transition and nute change I believe as well as taking clones - 2 from each plant.. just added the LST clip 90 degree angle things which are pretty cool .. just got them today I think they’ll work well
Thanks for stopping by an reading
I’ve done DWC several times, not a newbie. Getting pH spikes from 6.0 to just under 7.0 in 48 hrs, and an algae like dark brown/reddish substance within 48hrs as well. New stones, black buckets, 950 GPH pump feeding 1 stone per bucket. Net pots covered with cardboard. What gives?
I think everyone contributed equally to this, and it’s still unknown exactly what was causing this.. but I’m thinking it may be part of the mechanism of hydro guard, cuz it’s disappears after a few days, like it says it turns bacteria into food for the plant so maybe that’s what’s happening. Thanks for input everyone
@Who_is_grow_are, thank you! I have one in soil flowering so I know how beastly “she-hulk” can get (that’s what I like to call it since technically they’re female and Bruce banner is a male
Yo I'm loving my SF lights but the dimming throws me off so much haha. I've seen so many people pull so much weight though. I'm certain if I keep my plants shorter into flower though the footprint of the light is more than enough. How many SF 2000s are you running above? your buckets are so close together maybe I'm panicking about the lights intensity settings too much haha
@FlynnRyder, so it’s really weird.. I think maybe it’s just hydroguard reacting and doing it’s thing.. cuz it would only happen with new nute changes.. so I think the hydro guard is just breaking down the bad bacteria and eating it or some shit haha I dunno but dude there’s no other explanation as far as I’m concerned, no light leaks, water is easily 65-70 now.. anyhow the plants never really looked bad ever anyhow just a bit of wilting after nute changes.. but I’ve just given up on having perfectly white roots.. and I’m not changing nutes every 7’days anymore - more like every 14
@Ezzjaybruh, Thanks man. Now to just stop the 15 amp circuit they are on from flipping every second haha. I just need to run a new electrical line but these things have really made things better on the electric bill. yo did you ever resolve that root issue?
@FlynnRyder, I think you have plenty by the looks of it.. I got 2 above these 4. I’d just blast yours at full - once they’re older than 2-3 weeks I don’t think you should worry much about light burning them unless you get them closer than like 12”
@EBxAH, heck ya! I have one in soil flowering that is a beast and I could tell had good genetics so I went ahead and started these 4 for DWC.. anyhow these have been grown under a spider farmer SF-2000 with some supplemental light from a cob led light.
Holy schnit bro…looks awesome. God damn them are some beautiful nugs…apologies I ain’t been by to check out your grow in awhile, I see that your still absolutely killing it…looking amazing bro! All the best!

Chunky nice colors!
Congrats on Master bater level💪👌 earned it🍆👌💦💦
