Rapid LED’s Far Red Initiator Puck is a compact 730 nm supplemental LED module intended to trigger the phytochrome sleep response at lights-off. It draws 8 W from a 12 V DC supply and uses top-bin XP-E2 far-red diodes driven by an onboard Mean Well LDD-700LS constant-current module. The 67 × 67 mm board does not require a separate heatsink; an optional Carclo 10613 lens and a mounting bracket are available. Rapid LED recommends operating the puck for about 15 minutes after the main lights shut down and using one puck per 3 × 3 ft area to help plants transition into the dark cycle. Typical use is in flowering tents or rooms to speed dark-phase initiation and maintain consistent photoperiod management.
