How/when to ‘switch’ plants to flower?

From what I’m reading regarding plant heights, I should probably flip my plants to flower now? I am going to start research on that now, would any of you have some helpful tips? My plants are about 3 1/2 ft tall atm, on a second floor porch with about 5-7 hours of sunlight.

I’ve been topping them as needed here and there as they grew. I did not realize how much taller they would continue to grow, or I definitely would have kept shorter sooner lol I’ll work with what I got though. If I need to move indoors I will

hi mate, you need to consider the fact that your plants will keep growing about 40% more in the flowering stage (depending on the strain) you can toped or LST to make them bushier and not taller. hope you find this useful. cheers

If you lack vertical space you should have topped waaay back, not now, but way back, and then topped again, and again, and just grown a couple massive short bushes. Just saying, the rest of the information has been provided already, i won't repeat what clonez has said.

Heya! Typically you want to flip when they are half the desired height. When they stretch they will grow twice as tall, sometimes triple with a sativa strain. With 5-7 hours of light it will start to flower. Cheers
