Black or blueish patches on leaves (specially bottom ones first) are a first symptom of phosphorous deficiency, which is very common in the flowering stage, it means you need to up the flower nutes. Also I have to mention that it can also happen due ph been out of range and since you don't post pH values, I have to assume that you are not measuring and adjusting it, meaning it could be a reason for the issue you are having. Whatever the cause, the patches will start to look necrotic and if not solved, the issue will continue, severely affected leaves will develop dark metallic purple color patches, will also curl, wither and drop, as the plant takes the phosphorous out of the bottom leaves to try to power the bud formation.

@The8thChevron, cheers for the advice and lights out/nights are definitely around or below 55f. although they're in a tent ie 'indoor' my constraints are that the tent is outside haha. we'd had a cold snap in winter here the few days before these pics were taken, readings more around 50f i'd say for the last few lights out. can't do much about this though, so i'll work on the phosphorous suggestion and see how the sisters go

@athos, 100% correct on not measuring ph, it's me first grow and had so far got by using canna soil and mainly ph 6 distilled water until i was confident these sisters were goin strong and using a lil white vinegar to bring down the ph of tap. thanks a heap for ur response, the pics are of older growth and it does seem to be originating/developing from there. def aware a ph problem will prevent nute uptake period but i haven't altered anything in this respect, so reckon i'll be lucky to get off w the phosphorous deficiency and in hindsight i prob did up nute strength too late

Most common cause is too little P. The leaves purple a bit and stems turn red (usually). The other possibility is very cold nights, but it would have to hit 55°F in most cases for that to be the case. Long explanation short, you're probably low on phosphorus.
