So I feel like these colas are more sugar leaves than buds. Should I have defoliated them more? It’s week 17 is it too late to be thinking about defoliation? I just want to get the best out of these last couple weeks. Trichomes appear glassy/clear. Would u agree?

Removing any more leaves will further reduce your plants ability to produce energy, slowing growth. Your plant needs as many healthy green leaves as possible to produce as much energy as it can to grow her biggest flowers. In my opinion, de-foliation is one of the biggest mistakes any grower could inflict upon their plant. Put simply, fewer healthy green leaves = less energy produced = slower and smaller growth. It is my recommendation that only the yellow leaves that should be removed, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose. Another thing the older leaves provide to your plant is a stored reserve of vital elements such as sugars, amino acids, sugars etc that your cannabis plant will "recycle" during flowering, for it is much more efficient to do so, rather than making these elements from new during a high energy activity such as flowering. So, removing healthy green leaves not only reduces a plants capacity to make energy, it also robs the plant of a vital reserve of stored elements. Try leaving all but the yellow leaves on your next plants that you grow and you may be pleasantly surprised with their increased vigour and larger, faster maturing flowers. It won't hurt to try something new/different. So my advice is - no, please don't remove any leaves, especially at this late stage, it will do more harm than good. Hope this helps... Organoman.
