Definitely use a 30x or better scope to check trichomes. You're looking for mostly cloudy and 20% Amber for speedier high and 50/50 or more amber for couch lock or sleep inducing high. If you're going to flush I always recommend a flushing agent like botanicare clearex or advanced nutrients flawless finish. It'll also allow you to wait until about 3-4 days before harvest to flush. They definitely look like they could use a boost. I use the Fox farms grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom but in flower I also use the open sesame, beastie blooms, and cha ching. Calmag also with every watering. My last two weeks I throw advanced nutes overdrive into the mix to slam the buds home.

Hey mate! You should star flushing on base of your trichome colour. But first you need a microscope at least 30x. First of all, the trichomes have 3 colours during is ripen period, transparent, cloudy or milky and amber, keep in mind that more amber trichomes your buds have more sedative type of high will be. I personally try to harvest when the trichomes are 90% milky 10% amber or transparent, in this stage the cannabinoids are in is peak! Base on that I star flushing when the trichomes are like 50:50 milky/transparent. You still have a few weeks to go judging by the amount of white pistils/hairs, maybe as many as 4 weeks or more. The time line on the packet is only a guide, mostly unrealistic. It is based on the ultimate set up with little in common with the average home grower. Flushing for 5 days or so will be plenty - leave this activity until you think that harvest is about a week away.
