I’m still really new and get quite panicky when it comes to over/under watering my plants. Advice appreciated.

When do I add more water, currently when i poke my moisture meter in it reads dry for the first 2-3 inches, and then “moist” towards the bottom half of the pot, do I let the bottom half get dryer before adding? Using 5 gallon fabric pots with about 10” of soil in them.

Let it dry until the first 2 inches of soil are dry, then water thoroughly so all the soil is wet not just around the base, this promotes better root coverage and repeat every time the first 2 inches of soil are dry, additionally you can pick up the pot to feel the weight and compare wet vs dry so you know kind of where youre at throughout the process Good luck! Hope this helps

Yes let them dry out more. Then feed slowly with a 10-15% runoff.
