Offtopic. In my garden i have tomato plant and basil, I have noticed a lot of mushrooms on the ground for a few days. I was wondering, are they poisonous to me, or dangerous for the plant?
Mushrooms are actually a sign of good healthy soil. They build a network in the root zone which allows the plants to have better nutrient uptake and a wide variety of other benefits. Embrace them 😊
On the downside when mushrooms fully develop they release spores into the air and surroundings so I don’t think you may want those getting on your ripe tomatoes or basils before you harvest them. Once the plants are just “growing” they are fine to have but I would suggest removing them about a week or two prior to harvest and wash your fruits and vegetables before cooking and consumption.
