Is she ready? First time grower

This is my first grow, I'm just wondering if she's ready. There's a mix of trichomes but not very many amber ones. Auto Diesel, germinated 10/23

@organoman, actually 72 hrs of darkness has been proven to push tricome development as well as finish up what pistols still remain. If you wait till The pot dries, Then do three days of darkness you also have less water in yours stems which boosts you drying times as well. It’s proven science. I doubted it as well until I researched it. Photos not so much but autos require it for more resin

Yep, well and tuly ready. Chop, chop! For a more detailed explanation/answer, please see the answer I gave Val95 a couple of questions above yours on this very page to an almost identical question she posted. The extended darkness thing is BS, it just leads to a stalled metabolism, meaning the plant is at great risk from trichome degradation, not enhancement. After experimenting with harvest timing over the last 35+ years, I have determined that about an hour after lights on/sun up and after a normal nights "sleep" produces the tastiest and most aromatic flowers. Hope this helps, Organoman.

It looks like you got about five days to o less if the picture is older. I see yellowing so I would cut your lights for 72 hrs, let the Tricomes Cloud up, and chop it down. There technically ready now but it’s preference. the longer you let them sit the stronger couch lock it will be. You can leave her growing up till the leaves crumble but you risk foxtails. Good luck

You can estimate if a plant is ready for harvest by the color of the hairs sticking out of the buds, and since yours are mostly orange I think you can harvest in the next couple of days or so. However, it is a good idea to invest into a magnifying glass to get a better look at the trichomes (little white crystals). A lot of growers like harvesting when 10-20% of the trichomes have gone amber and most are a milky cloudy color. I would turn off the lights for 2 days to maximize trichome and bud development and then harvest. Good work and enjoy the fruits of your labor! 👽😇

It's all personal taste. She is all milky. This is when the thc is higher. According to growweedeasy, this will tend to get the most intense high with greatest euphoria and pain reliving effects... As her trichs turns amber you tend to get a more relaxing, narcotic type of high that reduces anxiety with couchlock. Me I smoke all day long my brother!! Fuck amber! I smoke enough to be stoned and chill. Happy harvest, whatever if you chose to wait a bit!

Very hard to tell in those images, but trichomes are still yet to go cloudy and milky. Give it another week at least

Nice looking plant/grow. You are correct you will want to wait till there is about 10-30% amber trichomes on your buds, not the leaves. I like a smaller percentage though of around 10%≤ After you see this do whatever you like to do for preharvest rituals if you have any, Flush, Darkness, soothing music, whatever! Then chop and dry. Best of Luck and Happy Growing!
