Benzelsanswered grow question 3 years ago I like to stop watering and drop humidity even more a few days before harvest just to pull the excess moisture out of everything so it dries faster- or thats the theory. Thats how we did it back in the day, but now everyone likes to slow dry their buds, so I guess it really doesnt matter in your sito either way if you look at it like that. Generally speaking keeping it a bit drier during harvest is a good idea as excess moisture and buds dont mix. And agree that dropping humidity to the lower end during flower does produce more tricomes, outdoors my average humidity here is 30%, with 20% not uncommon and rarely over 40% unless it rains... and it doesnt rain here in summer...well not really.
And yes you can totally cut the main cola and leave the rest for 5-7 more days. Thats usually how I do my larger plants as the tops are always more mature then the bottoms, so I take the tops and spend a few days trimming and then while they are drying im watching the rest to see when they are ready.
