8g BOVEDA 62% in my curing Jar, previously reading at high 50's before BOVEDA, but Humidity monitor now reads 69%. Do I need a bigger jar or is there not enough weed for an 8g pack?

High, Boveda 8 grams is just enough for 28 grams cannabis. I always use the larger Boveda 67 grams pack that is enough for 454 grams cannabis even when I only dry 100 grams. Better use a pack that is oversized then one that might just be or not be enough! Happy Drying! 😋

Since removing the Boveda my jar is down to 48% humidity and the stalks are closer to being back to snapping versus bending. I left the jar open for a short time yesterday to let it air-off.

You don't want to use silica packs until you're done with cure and jarring for long-term storage. They won't help the curing process, from my experiences, but help a lot when it comes to storing cured buds. Don't forget to burp your jars twice a day for 15-20 munutes during the first two weeks and once a day through weeks 3 & 4.

Thanks GG. I had a pretty stable humidity before putting the Boveda pack in, it was that that pushed it up to 69%, I've just tipped my jar out and its softened the stalks back to bendy instead of snapping. I'm going to ditch the Boveda for now.

I honestly don't monitor the humidity inside my curing jars except to actually FEEL the buds when I open the jar to burp them... It sounds to me like your buds are not as dry as they should be leading to the increased humidity. Take the buds out in the morning and lay them on a plate or screen in a single layer and leave them for the day... check how they feel as the day goes on and then put them back into the jar with the Boveda pack.. Check them again the next day when you burp the jar... if necessary, give them another day outside the jar... and keep doing this until their moisture content stays the same... As a side note here, you might want to investigate Grove bags... I haven't used them myself but others who have swear by them... apparently they're kind of a "put the bud in the bag and forget them" kind of thing ... I just find them a little pricey and don't mind a little bit of extra work 'cause I have more time than money! :-D Good luck!
