Topping very bushy plants with low node distance

This plant is very bushy already in this stage, is this normal? I wanted to top them and ask about the timing, if its right or not, but it's getting hard to count the nodes and take photos , because there is so much in the way. Happy growing!

your light was too close early on. This is why there is no space between (internode length). you could thin it out, or just let it branch out. if there distance between growth nodes is still very short, try raising the light 2-4" and see how that goes... may need some further trial and error with that. You could thin it out. remove alternating limbs from each side? but, could easily let them stretch out a ways and make a little manifold-esque base too. train the limbs out and away from trunk and each other until there is enough spacing for vertical colas.

Both of you, thank you for your answers. @Creepy_steve You are right, I did lower the lights by a significant amount and dimmed them down to cut some growing costs, since these days, the energy prices are raising up quite high. I think i will top them now and start the LST right away, I want an even canopy to fill out the tent, as long as I get a lot of colas which receive plenty of light, I am happy! Thats why I am trying to keep them short and wide. @GrowingGrannie Thank you, I will cut at the appropriate node, the thing with these plants is, these seeds came from weed I had bought a while back, there is no way yet to tell how many of them are ladies, or gentlemen. I did some research and found out, that you can get cutlings until preflowering. If I do it later, I will not waste as much resources, if they come out as male. Thank you, happy growing!

To my way of counting, you now have 5 nodes... you can top between the 4th and 5th but if you wait until you have a couple more nodes, you could actually start a clone from what you cut off the top of this one... just sayin'! Good luck!
