Autos are a waste of time IMO, they flower when small, use more electricity than photo fems, yield way less, have more genetic issues, hard for new growers to get the best results from, are more demanding/less forgiving when it comes to nutrition and generally have more issues in my experience. It is photo fems or nothing for me these days..........my opinion is based on self sufficiency growing for 40 years.........tried autos over a few years and never again!

As a begginer i should grow photos but i found it is more exciting and easier for me to grow autos, they are short, nedd a smaller space than photos and they are done in app. 10 weeks, always growing in soil because it is easy to flush the plant if i notice toxicity from nutes, already have feeding chart from previous grows and it is easy to feed them, last 5 autos i grew bring me about 70 g per plant under 200 w hps light, that amount of weed i could get from photos but since my box is on the balcony and it is winter i have to run lights 24/0 ,it gives me perfect conditions because hps is emitating a lot of heat, never seen my leaves curling under the light even they are more close than recommended,Im satisfied with all benefits autos can give me and im glad to use that benefits in my favour, there are a lot of disadvantages like short period to recover a plant from mistakes but ialways reduce them to the minimum, never had some big issues with autos, for now.

First off, both are feminized. Autoflowers flower under any light cycle, photoperiods need 12/12 to flower. You have feminized autoflowers and feminized photoperiods I don’t like autos. But there are situations I will advocate for them. First of all if your a beginner I believe photoperiods are better , there is no rigid timeline like there are with autos. Photos allow for more flexibility. If you want to have a perpetual harvest situation, and only have one space/tent. Autos are best. Autos can be very sensitive to nutrients, but also some are just fine with regular feed schedules.. Personally I’d go for the photoperiods every time.. unless there are very specific parameters in place.
