!?Defoliation of fan leaves?! 👍🏾 - to help with RH and focus plants energy on colas 👎🏾 - because plants need their leaves to photosynthasise and better to remove larfy bud sites instead What are y’all thoughts

I haven't tried something so extreme as swazzing. But I do like to lst and attempted fluxing(which worked really well) and mainlining (not so well). I always remove undergrowth that's not receiving any light and remove any leaves blocking bud sites but in my opinion that's enough, they do use the leaves to absorb the light and transform into plant food, every plant does (I think) but selective pruning is definitely beneficial! 🌱😁👍

With my autoflower plants I only cut of the leafs on the main stem. Photoperiods I defoliate much more. They can take much more stress. Just make sure the most and biggest buds aren’t covered by the leafs. The more light the more yield

I've defoiliated my photos but not my autos as much and only on bud sites that you know are covered by huge fan leaves because indoors light being utilized is key to big buds and not larfy ones that and air circulation ... Big fan leaves can be either tucked where possible or just removed a few every two or three days won't stress he rout and can be beneficial .. its all about practise if you do it now then you will know for your next grow nothing better then first hand experience .. best of luck cheers friend ...

I haven't played with photoperiods yet but from all of my research you will be doing your plant a huge favour if you selectively defoliate. Removing a couple every few days during veg will not negatively impact growth, it's best to remove the ones casting shadows on prime growth areas (side stems) and to remove leaves from dense areas. You can also defoliate when changing the lights to 12/12, this is when growers will lollypop and remove ALL of the foliage from the lower 20% of the plant, including any branches you know won't yield much. From here on you want to avoid stressing the plant with random defoliation so wait for 3 weeks. By this time there should be bud development, feel free to trim the big fan leaves casting any shadows onto bud sites. It is vital not to damage any bud sites!! From here on out we are just watching the buds grow and ripen until harvest. Growweedeasy.com is an amazing site full of great information on training your plants and diagnosing issues. https://www.growweedeasy.com/defoliation is where most of this information came from. Pigeons420 also defoliates with great success and even makes smoothies from the beautiful leaves his plants produce. There is countless positive information on defoliation and because of that I know that when this method is implemented correctly you are guaranteed to improve yields. Defoliation can even help heighten the quality of lower buds due to the bud being able to receive the light to ripen. My recommendation is to do some research and go for it! I snapped a stem in LST so mistakes will happen anywhere but these mistakes will lead us to learn better skills! Happy growing bro🤙🤙
