Calcium and magnesium (CalMag) are crucial nutrients for plant growth, and deficiencies can lead to various issues, including leaf problems. Here are some guidelines on when and how to use CalMag: Observation: Start by closely monitoring your plants. If you notice signs of calcium or magnesium deficiency, such as yellowing between veins or leaf curling, it might be time to consider supplementing with CalMag. Early Vegetative Stage: It's often a good practice to start adding CalMag during the early vegetative stage, especially if you're using reverse osmosis (RO) water or coco coir, which may have lower natural levels of these minerals. Dosage: Begin with a lower dosage and gradually increase it if needed. A common starting point is around 1-2 mL per gallon of water. Always follow the product instructions, as the concentration can vary between different CalMag products. Regular Maintenance: If your water source is low in calcium and magnesium, consider adding CalMag as a regular part of your nutrient regimen to prevent deficiencies. pH Consideration: Check and adjust the pH of your nutrient solution after adding CalMag. Calcium uptake is pH-sensitive, and maintaining the proper pH range (around 6.0-6.5 for soil) helps ensure nutrient availability. Remember, every growing environment is unique, and factors like water quality, soil composition, and plant genetics can influence nutrient needs. Regularly monitoring your plants, adjusting nutrient levels accordingly, and starting CalMag supplementation preventatively can help maintain healthy growth and minimize the risk of deficiencies.

In soil like 4-5 times in all life cycle, i would say 3 even . Last two grows i do not use it at all. You in soil, water amounts and good watering techniques/regimes are key, but watch ph 10 times more than those even, then in soil youll have great results !

A good practice is to water with Nutrients, let the pots get to where they feel light when lifted, then water with a cal-mag only, and alternate that regiment. Always pH to 5.8 to 6.2 Calcium is more available in the low to mid 6 pH range. For example, Calcium is more available at a pH of 6.4 than it is at 5.8 I know some will disagree on letting the coco dry out before watering. Later when your plants are well established with a solid root structure, then yes over watering is far less likely. But in the early stages of growth while the plant is establishing it's root structure, you can absolutely over water in Coco Coir and great care has to be given with watering in early life. Less is more. Trust me, you can let your coco dry out and then water again. Yes it's true, Coco Coir doesn't hold nutrients like peat does, but if you've watered with a food mixture and your substrate is wet, there is nutrients within that moisture and your plants will suck it up. The nutrients doesn't magically fall out of the Coco and vanish. It's there as long as moisture is there, so don't be concerned about keeping your plants roots watered logged with nutrient solution daily, it's not necessary.

When you start adding feed. Depends on what you are growing in as well. Coco needs cal mag the whole grow. If in soil then week 2 to 4. Dosage can vary depending on brand. I am sure it has a suggestion on back of bottle. For example Athena is 2-3 ml a gallon while blue planet is 3 to 5 ml per gallon. So every brand has a different concentration.
