Salt buildup with biobizz fertilizers in biobizz lightmix soil, runoff EC grows after each plain watering. Each one takes 6 days to dry. Help

Plants watered for two months w/o proper runoff with biobizz grow/bloom 50% dose. It seems this caused salt buildup which led to deficiencies. Got myself a PPM/EC meter. Nov18 3L EC-IN 1.3 EC-OUT 2.7, Nov24 3L EC-IN 0.5 EC-OUT 3.1, Nov30 EC-IN 0.9 EC-OUT 4.1. Why does it go up?

One easier option for flushing is using plan water then once its all done a weak feed, adding in a product called a wetting agent can also help the water reduce its surface tension and flow though the pot. If and when I flush I always do it slowly like a heavy rain this allows the water time to trickle though the medium and soak in vs dumping a big amount on top and then it compacts the medium or finds a easy way out and it all goes that way like a river vs though the rest of the pot. I use something called a sprayer and you just pump it up and water. I have a feeling some of the medium might be compacted and the first flush did not soak though some of it and that's why the EC spiked back up as it has time to soak after the first few flushes. Plants are looking good though and this might be part of end of life cycle, the purpleing on the top leaves are indicting of that. I think you should be ok with just water or weak feeds for the rest of its life. Congrats on the grow! Good Luck!

Just remember if the VPD is off the plant won't drink or eat then what is left for food remains and then you add and your salts build up over and over...

I'm pretty sure you know what is wrong but you're unsure how to fix it and the most important thing in your tent or room is VPD which regulates the uptake of water and nutrients which leads me to believe your VPD is off what is your temp and RH at if it's off you will get deficiency and salt build up and lock out or your plants will get over saturation of nutrients...I would download tent buddy and plug in your temp and humidity and see where you're at and then play with the numbers to find out where you should be....Best of luck

Hello my friend, the solution for this problem is simple. It is good that you give a light nutrient solution with the right pH for flushing. So you want a 30% nutrient solution with pH 6.5 Give the pot volume in water. So if you got a 10 liter pot then you want to give 10 liters with water. You do not need to measure this runoff and you will only do this 1 time. Let the soil dry, you want the top layer of the soil to be completely dry. And then you can continue with 50% like you did before. But this time with 10% runoff to prevent salts building up again.

Because you're flushing all of your nutrients out of your medium like you wanted to do. Eventually it will drop but what you're experiencing doesn't look like nutrient burn but natural senescence or fading. The flushing is going to exaggerate that as well. The flushing isn't as necessary as people think, next time I would add some lactic acid bacteria to help break down the excess nutrients instead.
