This is my first grow. Germinated Seedlings in damp tissue - All sprouted within a day or two! Day 1 - Put seedlings in solo cups, under 30W of CFL (Cool Daylight) + an LED Tube Day 5 - Three plants with cotyledons out, serrated leaves coming. Three stuck with the shell on. Day 7 - Seedlings about 1.5 inches. Amnesia strains stretching a bit, Dinameds look shorter and stockier. Cotyledons out in full, serrated leaves coming!

Day 9 - All the plant's have popped their seed shells - with some help :P, barring one, which looks like it might be shell-capped! Tried removing the cap carefully, but it just looks like a yellow helmet now :( Day 11 - Capped seedling seems to be dying, no leaves, almost as if they've been smushed within the seed shell. Day 12 - Seedlings showing really poor growth under 30W light. Moved lights closer. Day 13 - Built a 120W CFL enclosure (see picture), kept about 4 inches from seedlings, will check on them tomorrow. Day 14 - Plants seem to be loving the new light! Lots of new leaf growth :)

Day 15 - Good new leaf growth under the new lights :) Day 17 - Found a weird blobby looking yellow spot on one of the Amnesia leaves. Will monitor. Seems like some kind of light burn from a leftover water droplet? (see picture) Day 19 - Yellow spot has spread! Now it looks like the leaf has yellow measles! I'm suspecting some sort of fungal growth, as it's localised to just that leaf. Will monitor and trim if needed. Also, almost all the stems have turned from slightly red, to pretty damn red. Any thoughts? Day 20 - Was away yesterday. Today the leaf definitely looked like it has a fungal infection. The yellow blobs seem 3D now. Very slowly and carefully cropped the leaf, wrapped it up and threw far away. Rest of the plants are looking pretty good. A little on the bright side of green though. Critical 2.0 has pretty warped leaves, could be because it's seed shell deformed it? Added some vermi to the top layer of each pot and watered. Day 21 - All bottom leaves continue to be slightly droopy, with crispy edges. What do you think it could be? Top leaves look a little bright and yellowing. Nitrogen deficiency? Or light stress? What could it beee, help! Also growth has slowed, barring one of the Dinamed plants, which is growing well. Ordered some quality liquid kelp and fish fertilizers, as well as a PH meter (which i probably should've had by now). Will give them on the next watering.

# 1 issue with seedlings is keeping them too moist/wet notice the down turned leaves. Secondary issue is the red stems/yellow leaves looks a like a lack of nitrogen that can be caused by an over watering or soil that stays too wet for too long. This doesn't mean give them more nitrogen their roots can't absorb it because the soils too wet. Let them dry out a bit before the next watering. If they look like they have improved and there are no nutrients in the starter mix use 1/4 strength nutrients on them not drowning them with moisture. The soil looks like it has a lot of vermiculite in it which holds a lot of moisture pretty common in seed starter mix. . If/when you re-pot them be sure to add extra perlite to your mix to allow for more oxygen to reach the roots and allow for faster drainage. Hope this helps👍

Transplant Week! Waited till the end of the week to transplant. Growth was slow this whole week, and I was suspecting that the soil got pretty compact and had restricted root growth. So we prepared the soil mix as follows: 30kg (50% Vol.) Potting mix from a great organic grower nearby 10kg (20% Vol.) Vermi (30% Vol.) Perlite About 2kg of organic NPK nutrient granules Myccorhizae granules - put this into the holes where the transplanted pottlings would be placed How does that sound? Going to feed them liquid nutrients as follows about once per week: 3ml/L of Fish Emulsion (liquid) 3ml/L of Organic Seaweed extract Humic Acid - What dosage would you suggest? Other Additives I have as and when necessary: Blood + Bone meal digested fertilizer - Unfortunately I couldn't wait any longer, and had to transplant before this could arrive. Anyway, I have it now, so have to see if and how this would be implemented if needed. Epsom Salts - Do you suggest I add this routinely, or only if required? Neem Oil - Foliar use with soap and diluted. To be used for pest control. Would you recommend using this routinely or only as needed? I've put the plants outside now. They're under 240W of CFL lights. I'm going to upgrade this to 400W this week. I did this because the plants were on a 18/6 light cycle indoors earlier, however we have only 12 hours of daylight outside. Since they're now outside, I need additional lighting for (at the very least) daylight extension . However I decided instead of risking it with weak lights, I may as well give them enough to keep growing during the extra hours. For now they're in the shade, getting used to the breeze, and being powered by the lights. I'll gradually keep increasing their sun exposure over the course of two weeks, till they're sun-bathing for the full 12 hours, followed by 6 hours from the CFLs.

So I transplanted at the end of week 4, and three days into week 5, I'm delighted to say, the transplant's have all gone splendidly!! All the plants have started growing rapidly again! And all new growth is a nice healthy dark green, with no signs of any issues. Only issue I have is some leaf miner trouble on Dinamed CBD Plus #2. Instead of using strong neem extract, i've been getting fresh neem leaves from our tree, crushing them and steeping in hot water for an hour or two. After cooling, I sprayed all the plants with it, and also put some in the soil around the stems. So many weird flies about! You can see them in some pictures, not sure if they're the culprits or not! Don't want to take chances on it till the plants are nice and big though. Just needed some advice on whether I should regularly be spraying the plants with this neem water, given these flies seem to love my plants since they've been moved outdoors. In other notes, no signs of transplant shock. In fact, it's as if the plants were begging for one, and have grown noticeably in the 3 days since! Seem to be using up a fair bit of water too! Because I soaked the soil really well before transplanting, and 2-3 days later, the soil is already getting pretty dry. Not bad for these lil guys holding their own in these big pots :) Stems have hardened a fair bit too! They've had no direct sunlight these last three days outside. Now i'll start giving them a couple of hours of sunlight, and gradually increase over the course of 1-2 weeks. Didn't get a chance to upgrade the lights yet, so we're still on 240W. Hopefully i'll get that up to 400W this week itself. These will only be used for daylight extension after a week though. Anyway, that's halfway through week 5! I'll post some updates at the end of the week. Growth in the solos was painfully slow unfortunately, so I probably lost 2-3 weeks of real growth there. But seems like they're ready to start shooting out now. I have no issues extending my veg period till they're all nice and massive, and I intend to. :)

Q1) My Dinamed #2 is looking a little concerning. Been spraying with freshly made neem water. You think its leaf miners or could it be a mag def.? Q2) I'm seeing yellowing tips on some plants (old full-leaf yellowing from pre-transplant). What could it be? Organic nute burn?

Hi ive been reading through your Dairy and i have a medium sized problem with that 30kg (50% Vol.) Potting mix from a great organic grower nearby 10kg (20% Vol.) Vermi (30% Vol.) Perlite About 2kg of organic NPK nutrient granules Myccorhizae granules - put this into the holes where the transplanted pottlings would be placed its the knoking nothing....problem.. you are using a potting mix from an good organic grower thats nice... but why putting NPK granules inside it.. so you have no clue and no control of the intensity of your nutrients Your Girls are in week 5 and are small.. and looking irrigated. In my opinion it enough to take the organic potting soil, mix it with perlite, vermiculite and peatmoss.... little seedling like it very " poor" and you can control everything you feed them

On the advice of Mrs Larimar, i've stopped the liquid fish additions. I added some Humic + Fulvic Acid to my water cycle to see if it will help with the PH issue. Will reduce that to once in two weeks now. Any advice on how often I should be using the seaweed extract? Currently i'm on about 3ml/L, once a week. In other news, the plants have now been transitioned to full day (roughly 11 hours) of sunshine + 6 hours of light from the fluorescents :) They've been on my rooftop, so they get great sunshine throughout the day. They're all also looking considerably healthier. The Early Amnesia CBD #1 is outpacing the rest. Both Dinamed CBD Pluss' look good, but are slow and steady growers. The Critical+ 2.0 is looking much better, thought I would have to cull that one, but it's bounced back well and has plenty of fresh and healthy looking new growth. All in all, a good week :) UPDATE: DISASTER!! Left the house this morning, and as it turns out, a peacock decided to eat up the tops of ALL my plants :( There's literally about 50-60 potted plants up on my terrace, yet the peacock decided it just HAD to eat some of my sweet cannas. I've put up pictures. Do you think they'll recover?

It's been a terrible week for my plants. The Amnesias are the only ones that seem to be recovering from the peacock attack last week. My second healthiest plant (pre-attack), the Dinamed #1 just never recovered and died. Same with the Critical+ 2.0 I've tried giving them just the Kelp Extract to help them along. The second Dinamed has new growth, but it's looking sickly. This is all quite depressing, but I understand the mistakes i've made, and have studied extensively on how to avoid them next time. On top of everything i've had NO time from work to spend with them, which means i've had to leave them in the care of a trusted family member, who keeps me updated remotely. Would be grateful for any tips, or diagnosis help. Does this look like nute burn, or a nitrogen deficiency? I'm a little confused as to whether I should just flush the soil. Worried that this Dinamed #2 and maybe even the Amnesia #2 won't make it at this rate.

Week 8 is looking good. Both the Amnesias seem to have fully shaken off the peacock shock and are growing fast again! The Dinamed is still struggling a bit, but has lots of new growth which I hope should see it through. I'm hoping I should see some good growth in the coming week. Due to my high soil PH, i've been using Carbon loaded gravity filters to heavily lower the PPM of my regular water, as well as PH'ing the water down to about 5.8-6.0 before watering. The plants seem to be liking this. I've also removed the lights for a little while, until they fully recover. They were getting attacked by bugs at night with the light on. Will resume the daylight extension when they're healthier. In the meantime, i'm building a small 6' x 4' x 8' greenhouse frame. I have good quality greenhouse poly lying already, so figured may as well. The temperatures will be good for now, but will start getting pretty cold by mid december. I'll hang the daylight extension lights from the greenhouse frame as well. Finally, since they're be sealed in, shouldn't get any bugs at night! :)

Well, as the weather would have it, my plants have gone into flowering. Had to keep the lights off so I wasnt getting bug attacks. Suffice to say, i’m not thrilled by the outcome, but it has been a great learning. On that note, my new mini greenhouse is almost ready, and my living soil mix should be ready for planting shortly. Will post a new diary when that’s up and running! For now, stay tuned for updates on my fledgeling plants above 😊 On another note, the plants are looking very healthy now, which I am auite happy about.

Week 2 of flower and the plants are looking lovely. They’re small, I know, but I think i’ve understood all my mistakes well. The Dinamed unfortunately looks tiny, but alas. Im only giving it seaweed and some liquid fish with PH’d, filtered water now, making sure I don’t get any on the plant itself. The weather has cooled a bit too. Greenhouse is ready, going to be putting up the plastic sheeting today. Will post pictures when it’s done.

Plants have got pretty dense with bud, especially given their size. Only the Dinamed is still tiny. The are smelling DANK though! Another 3-4 weeks of flowering to gooo. In other news, my no-till soil mix is looking and smelling sooo good after cooking for a month. Follow my other diary to keep track of that. Weather is turning cold now, so i’ve moved all the plants into the greenhouse - which i’m quite proud of btw.

Gave them all a little prune today. Figured that bud should get a bit more light. All pictures are post-prune. There were a few aphids about too, which I got rid of. But oh the smells!! The Early Amnesias are smelling pungent and skunky, but the Dinamed CBD plus is smelling REALLY good - Sweet, floral, candy. One of the early amnesia’s looks about a week behind the other. I’ll play it by sight. I can’t wait, aaahh!

I usually post at the end of the growing week, but since i've been sick and had a lot of free time to spend with my plants, I decided to post early this week. All three plants look good. Think there's a slight fungal issue on some leaves on the smaller Early Amnesia. Since i'm about 10 days from harvest now, I'm not overly concerned, and don't think i'll trim the leaves since they're close to the flowers. Perhaps i'll leave that plant out for the rest of the grow. Our winters are cold and dry, so about as far from fungii-optimised as possible. Currently temps are still only dropping to about 10℃ at night (=50℉), so should be pretty ideal. Other than that, not much to report, all is well. Just getting eager now, with those wild smells in there!! End of week update - so some leaves had white fuzz on them, i carefully snipped them off and disposed of them. I’ve decided that these three plants can stay outside permanently now for their last week or so of flowering. Let’s see that mould try to spread in dry winter cold! Hah.

Sorry it's taken a while to post up guys. After the last posted week, I culled all three plants and began the drying + curing process. They were hung-dry in my cupboard (winter here, so the air is dry and cool). I didn't weigh the fresh plant/bud. The drying process took 12 days, though I feel I could've probably let them dry even longer. It was a bitter-sweet process, watching the buds shrink as they let moisture out. Oh well. I also trimmed any large'ish leaves that were still there during the drying. Left the small leaves that were sandwiched in bud on though. Once the drying was complete, I then cut the buds down to their stems, and weighed the bud out. It came to about 15 grams total (for both Early Amnesia CBD plants). Thus began the curing in a mason jar. That's been ongoing for a good 3 weeks, with diminishing amounts of burping. I sampled a TINY TINY bud yesterday, and honestly I was blown away. I was expecting a heavy high given the high CBD content, but WOW!! It was SOO clear, all my senses felt energised, yet I had no feeling of anxiety, paranoia etc. It also smells and tastes absolutely gorgeous. I was also baked as fuck, yet completely functionally. Did I mention my joint literally had about 0.3-0.5g of bud in it? Smoked among two people. I'm really impressed, and I think I may have found one of my favourite strains at 33. These days, extreme THC-heavy bud has been weighing me down with a racing heart and mind. I figured higher CBD quantities would help nullify those side effects, but I was worried that it would also lead to a lazier, sleepier, dreamier high. Not so at all ! Haze + CBD genetics = Absolute Winner. Can't wait to medicate and sit down and compose some music on this. I'm currently waiting on my Ardent Nova, with which I plan to make infusions for sublingual use. MMMM!!!! Side note - I blame the low yield entirely to my inexperience. Already have my second grow on week 6 with the same strains, expecting significant yield improvements with my new-found knowledge. Thank you Dinafem, I love love love this high.
