no.. leaves power growth. Ripening is growth, too. Light hitting plant mass with 1/100th to 1/1000th the aerial density of chlorophyl is not as good as light hitting leaves. ATP powers the plant.. ATP is the prodcut of photosynthesis. What you mention is a parallel to the characters in "Idiocracy" trying to explain why they water with Brawndo... "it's got electrolytes..." lol. People that don't know any better but incredibly confident about their baseless conclusion and circular logic pulled from the ether.

Thank you everyone! First grow and still learning. I'm glad I didn't remove too many leaves when I have defoliated. The discoloration you see is partially a PH issue, but MAINLY a heat and light intensity burn. I had my light Waaaayy to close to her for a few days too many and I'm paying for it as u can see, I hope this won't affect my yield to badly.

The only reasons for defoliating leaves are leaves that block light for a huge part of the plant or leaves that block airflow because they are stacked on eachother. These are really the only reasons to defoliate. All other defoliation just decreasing yield.

Leave as many as possible. Just remember.......... More leaves = more energy being made = more growth!

I would not. Maybe few inside of canopy ones - yes with time, not now. Now i would open her up more, wires and LST. Would question myself why top fan, bottom old leaf and others here and there are not green. Something wrong a bit in diet or ph. Good luck !

I’d use more LST then defoliation at this point. Stripping off leaves after the stretch is counterproductive. More leaves=more energy, the plant is not going to replace them like in veg. Good luck!
