How long can you veg in a 7 gal container? I’m probably pushing 3 months + after starting in a 3 gal and transplanting a few weeks ago to 7. Gonna switch within a week once clone cubes arrive. Just making roots shouldn’t lock…?

You're fine. Mother plants often run veg cycles that number in years, not months. If you're ever that worried about it trimming back your root ball when repotting is always an option. Fabric pots also air prune the roots when they grow through, so they don't spiral and become bound up like in plastic or clay pots.

Seeing as how you just transplanted recently, you should be fine. Soil is good for about 12 weeks after which it basically turns into pseudo hydroponics whereby the soil is only holding the roots and the plant is living purely on supplemental feeding/fertilizers. Obviously, the smaller the pot and the larger the plant, this time frame reduces considerably. Getting "root bound" is another issue that will limit growth.

1 gallon per month is a good rule to follow. you can get away with smaller volumes in soilless context. even for a 3-galllon, that's a bit on small side for nearly 3 months (less a few weeks). ar the nodes very close together up and down the branchs? if so, may want a bit less light.. it's hard to tell if this thing stalled out due to the pot or something else. there is not enough information. Looks like a ton of leaves are quite close together. if you want to fill the space, you want at least half-filled when you flip and it should grow in after flip. you'll have 4 weeks of solid vege growth remaining after flip and sometimes longer than that. whatever you do, get it growing normally before flipping.. nute imbalance, maybe some light burn at top or just a severely rootbound plant that will take time to kick back into gear after transplant -- 3 weeks so far? if it started to exhibit more growth lately, expect that to continue.

Depends on the style of grow. a lot of plants have little root balls and grow big in mini cup challenges. So if your doing hydroponic nutrients in a soilless medium then it can go from seed to harvest in that sized pot. just need to feed and water it accordingly. If its in soil, slightly different, I like transplant every 3-5 weeks so the roots can keep growing. however I feed them with amendments and they breakdown slowly, not to say you can't do seed to harvest in same pot but transplants helps them grow more. I start off with about 1L then move up to 2Gal and then to 5 or 7 Gal as my final pot size. I am testing out a bigger wider pot this run vs taller, going to see how the plants like it. I also agree that in 3 months the plant is looking a bit small but you can fix this in future grows buy managing its LST and HST with feed and nutrients. Good Luck!

Hello friend. I'm not an expert, so take my opinion with a grain of salt and maybe get a second opinion. First, your plant is very small for being in veg for 3+ months. You've deprived the plant of the root space it needs by not transplanting it earlier and thus wasted weeks of your time. Given enough root space, your plant could have reached its current size in half the time spent in veg. Keep it simple. I like to transplant my photoperiods only once, usually from a small sub 1 gallon pot as a seedling to a 10 gallon pot at around week 2 of veg. I veg the plant out for a total of 4-6 weeks before I flip to flower. You can achieve much larger plants in less time just by making sure they have enough root space early on in their life. I don't recommend you veg anymore. Flip her to flower as soon as you can. Next grow, transplant early on in life and you'll get a much better result.
