How can i prevent my dog from pissing on my plants ? I cannot barricade the plant as he will bite the barricade into pieces and he is my security ... Any ideas ... It does not harm the plants that much but it would definitely help if i could prevent it.

As far as I understand your plants are outside. Dog will continue pissing on plants as long as he smells someone else piss there (rat, squirrel, cat, another dog, etc.) The only way to deal with that is to clean the plant and area around it from foreign smells. Try enzymatic cleaner. Go to pet store and ask for help. People say that they successfully tried DIY cleaners. I only used store bought ones.

Repellents: Consider using natural or commercial repellents around your plants to deter your dog from urinating in that area. There are many pet-safe options available, including citrus-based sprays or homemade solutions using vinegar or chili powder. Be sure to test a small area first to ensure it doesn't harm your plants. Training: Work on training your dog to avoid urinating near your plants. Positive reinforcement techniques, such as rewarding your dog for urinating in designated areas away from your plants, can be effective. Consistency and patience are key when training your dog. Create a Designated Bathroom Area: Set up a designated bathroom area for your dog away from your plants. Use positive reinforcement to encourage your dog to use this area for urination instead of near your plants. Physical Barriers: While you mentioned that barricading your plants isn't feasible, you could try using taller or sturdier barriers that are more difficult for your dog to destroy. Alternatively, consider placing the plants in elevated containers or hanging baskets out of your dog's reach. Supervision: Keep an eye on your dog when they're in the vicinity of your plants, and redirect their attention if you notice them showing interest in urinating on them. Providing distractions or engaging your dog in play can help redirect their behavior.

Train your dog would be a good start honestly. This isn't a question for grow diaries, but for a dog trainer.

Its the excesses UERA "high in N 46% ish" in the piss that is burning the plants, and sometimes salt, I've read if the food they eat is higher in fillers the more UERA in the piss. Don't know how true it is so grain of salt with that tidbit. Piss is a great fertilizer if diluted, 1/10 1/12 piss to water ratio. Can also spray the area down every time they pee their and it will help lesson the dmg on them. Dogs tend not to like citrus rinds or other sharp smelling things. could try and sprinkle a bunch of zest from them aorund the plant. If I tell my dog not to piss on one of my plants she knows not to. Another option is spicy pepper, the smell is very pungent and they don't like it either. Not a fan of shock collars. making loud noices when they go close to plant will teach em to stay away.

we had a female dog who would piss on the lawn causing damage from the acidity long story short we tried an old method I heard from my grandmother It required the filling of old plastic Fizzy drink bottles like the 2 litre ones with water . then they were placed in the area where she would piss. Long story short it actually seemed to work in deterring the dog from pissing in that spot It must be phsycological or something but in your case it's worth a shot . OR you could try the shock collar and sensor wire method where you run a sensor cable (wire) around the plants and when the dog gets too close to the wire it gives the dog a smallshock thru the collar After a few shocks the dog should get the message that approaching the plants = a shock

Just wanted to add, they make invisible fences for dogs also. They use static collars and when your dog get to close to the invisible fence, they will get a warning and if they go further then they get a static shock.

Other then some kind of fencing like you said you couldn't use, you will have to find something that he wouldn't want to smell. Citronella Apple Cider Vinegar Cinnamon Lavender Marigold There's plenty of others as well that may keep your dog away. Motion activated sprinklers, depending on how your dog is with water.
