Until your stems have built a solid stiffness they need to be held in place If you need some spare. What you have done. Replace my permanently tieing down the stems wit them on awhile freeing up what u got. Good l

you can harvest a few days before harvest but I tend to harvest everything on harvest day

Yep, they stay on until harvest, otherwise the branches will try to straighten out and undo all the training you have done.

I keep them on till close to end. Once the branches get woody they won't flex back very easily
