Hi growers looking for advice on calyx's that are cracked open on one of 5 plants. It's week 5 of flower and and found two on a beautiful big plant I have. Does plucking the calyx's off do any good or am I doomed? Thanks in advance

It's quite hard without any pics, but in general this can be a common issue, especially during the flowering stage. Cracked calyxes can be normal or a sign of bud rot or mold developing within the buds. Here are some steps you can take: - Inspect Thoroughly: Check all your plants carefully for any signs of mold or rot. Look for discolored or dark spots, fuzzy growth, or any unusual smells. - Remove Affected Buds: If you find any buds with signs of rot or mold, carefully remove them from the plant. Be sure to dispose of them properly to prevent spreading the issue. - Increase Airflow: Improving airflow around your plants can help prevent mold growth. Consider using fans to keep the air circulating and reduce humidity levels in your grow space. - Monitor Humidity: High humidity levels can contribute to mold growth. Make sure your grow room is properly ventilated and consider using a dehumidifier if necessary. - Adjust Environmental Conditions: Ensure that your temperature and humidity levels are within the optimal range for flowering cannabis plants. This typically means temperatures between 68-78°F (20-25°C) and humidity levels around 40-50%. - Consider Using Preventative Measures: Some growers use treatments like potassium bicarbonate or hydrogen peroxide mixed with water as a preventative measure against mold and mildew. Be sure to research and follow proper dilution ratios and application methods. - Continue Monitoring: Keep a close eye on your plants in the coming weeks to ensure that the issue doesn't recur. Early detection is key to preventing further damage. Removing cracked calyxes alone won't solve the issue if it's caused by mold or bud rot. It's essential to address the underlying problem to protect the rest of your crop. Have a nice grow !

Bud rot can occur at any stage of flowering not just at the end/late stage.

cracked? sounds more like a pollen sac. Calyxes don't open up. If one was ripped open, it's just 1 calyx and that sort of physical damage will not ruin a plant. if it was a pollen sac, after it opened you'd see some yellow-ish bunch of little banana-looking things. Maybe 6-8 of them inside? this would be a pollen sac and if it is open, it's releasing pollen. so.. i think you need to post a picture, because there may be a disconnect between your vocab and description and what actually happened.

if I was you, I would keep a really close eye and move the plant maybe into a room by itself or away from your others hate to say, but most likely just prolonging the inevitable as long as you don’t let no bananas start forming have a chance, but if I was you and if you have it around other females, I would just ✂️✂️✂️✂️ there’s always another bean🌿💨💯

I find a mold or bud rot issue unlikely in week 5 of flower. That's something you typically encounter towards the end of flower not at the beginning of the swell. Relax, you're likely stressing over nothing.
