Topping done right?

As I never topped a plant before I am not really sure if I did it the right way. Maybe someone with more experience can have a look? :) The first two pics are directly after topping. The other two 5 days afterwards.

you cut it above a gorwth node.. that's doing it "right" if you plant to bend those 2 branches horizontally or in any extreme way, leave the stem a bit longer where you cut. It'll be less prone to split from training those two branches away from each other... if you just top and let it grow, it's a non issue. split a few stems and you learn to leave that nub a bit longer. you may have to split a stem before you realize the usefulness, lol. Plant training should have an end target for the full canopy. 12 colas? 20? whatever... then make it happen in a systematic way to reduce vege time and money required to get there. If you do that, you are doing it right and intelligently.
