There is nothing you can do that will magically change anything in the last few hours of a plants life that will turn it from ordinary bud into super bud. Ice water, extended darkness etc etc...it's all BS. The best thing you can do is to keep everything normal and do everything possible to avoid stressing your plant in any way, right before harvest and after weeks/months of careful cultivation. In 40 years of growing, I have tried just about every urban myth out there and they are all "ghetto science" that do nothing. Keep them healthy and stress free is the only way imo.

keep it helathy.. keep it growing optimally.. the rest is magic. Same reasona fastball doesn't increase in velocity after it leaves a pitcher's hand. How can it grow, and ripening is growth too, if you deprive it of light or nutes? the other good thing is no matter what OCD behaviour you delve into, if it's for a short time it can't have much of an effect either way. LOL.

There is a lot of research into this and it always comes back to just do nothing different. Dr. Bruce Bugbee did a huge work up on this and he found there to be no difference in the production of trichomes. So he says that you keep running your lights, keep feeding it and do nothing else. However, he did state that the last week you could defiantly not use nutrients to flush the plant but he still feels like you do not need to even do that. I do like to flush the last week, and by that I mean I only give straight water. I do not actively try to rinse my soil out. I hope this helps.

Personally I prefer shocking her into overdrive with 48 h of complete darkness.
